SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov. 14
Good Morning,
Thank you, TINA, for letting our supper friends know about my brother. and thank you all for your kind and sweet messages of love and support. It's amazing how folks so widely spread across the country, and some of whom I've never even met in person, can provide some of the most loving back-up you can imagine. I feel almost like I am physically lifted up by all the strength I am sensing from all of my quilty pals. Thank you so much! God bless you all!
Jim is in a better place, but the rest of us still need to eat. Having my sis and BIL here has given me more inspriration than usual to cook. It will give me something to do today. So tonite, we're going to have chicken parmesan with hot buttered noodles, green beans, and a tossed salad. Maybe rolls, too. (but probably not,)
AGain, thank you all! Hugs around!

Good morning
)
Mary, hugs to you my friend. Your supper sounds so good I think I'm going to try making the parm chicken.
I was thinking about Veterans Day that just passed and it got me thinking about all the people who served and then I got to thinking of my Dad
) he served in the Army and has always been a mechanic but he can sure tell some scary stories even though he wasn't on the front line, I imagine the ones that were their stories would make me cry, I just can't imagine all that they went through and I'm so grateful for them for giving and protecting our freedom. My Dad was a Sergeant and then served in our National Guard for years. Just curious, what branch did yours serve in and what was their rank?
Tina

Good morning from a very sunny but still darn chilly, SW. Pa....I need to be quick today, Jim has an appointment but
Mary, I had to stop and tell you how sorry we are for the loss of your brother...From all you've said about Jim, he must have been a very special person....And from all the suffering he's gone through, we all know, he is in a much better place....You know, he's up there, smiling down on you and the rest of his "sibs"....Wish I could be sitting with you, having a cup of tea and also giving you a huge hug.....
Tina, My Jim was a Sgt. in the Army and was in Korea...His "job" was to drive the mail truck and often told stories about how "interesting" it was going from one place to the next...His genes must have been passed onto Kathy, her working in the Post Office.....
Well, must run....Jim is already pacing and anxious to go...I'm hoping to stop at a few places along the way home and also hoping the car will do it's thing and stop somewhere good to eat.....
So, for our dinner, it depends on the car!
Happy eating................

Good Morrning!
Maryz - I am so sorry to hear of your brother, Jim's, death, These past few weeks your family has come together and said their goodbyes, but it isn't easier. I know from experience this is a very sad time for you. I wish I could join Irish and you with a cup of tea. Hugs and Prayers are with you!
Tina - My Dad was in the Navy. He worked in the engine room. He was always very mechanical and worked fixing things all his life.
Irish - Jim must have told great stories of delivering the mail!
I was thinking of making Parmesan Chicken tonight, so maybe I will and think of Maryz and her family!
Have a great day everyone!
Carol

Good morning,
Tina - my husband wss a Petty officer in the Navy, handling communications aboard ship. This included ship navigation equipment. His dad was a Marine, and served until wounded on the invasion of Iwo Jima.
I think i will find a soup of some sort to make today. One that won't appear is split pea! LOL
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov. 14
Mary—again, I offer you my sincere condolences. Cooking gives you something to do, and being with family around the table will feed your soul as well.
Jana—my brother in law was a Navy chief petty officer until he retired a few years ago. My dad was a Merchant Marine in WWII.
Carol—you summed up well how we all feel for Mary.
Irish—that’s neat that Jim was a mailman in the Army, and now Kathy… My grandpa worked cattle, and my grandma raised chickens… I work cattle and have my cows and calves, and I used to have chickens. It took a long time for me to get there, but I know my grandparents are laughing down at me.
Tina—thank you again for all your work on the quilt for Mary’s Jim. You have a bunch of jewels in your crown!!!
Tonight… leftovers of something… turf or fowl. I might get a little creative with something or just let it ride for a true re-run. For now, I’m going to take the hooligans and check on Ava then Maggie (DS3’s dog). Then I’ll return and start sandwiching Mom’s quilt for my aunt. She wants it quilted “yesterday”.
Bon appétit!
