SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, August 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Aug 13, 2016 3:06 am

It's almost 0600 and it's still dark outside! Seems a few weeks ago it was light by 0430. It's coming folks. Probably doesn't feel like it right now, but winter is on it's way.

It was a big night at our house last night - we put flea med on everyone. They hate it. So it's always a struggle to get everyone to sit still long enough to pull all the fur aside to get to the skin. I'm anxious to learn more about this pill that might work better. We all hate the liquid.

BECCA - do you have many bears in your area? We had one in our yard once and our Snickers never said a word. He just quietly melted into the floor of the living room. He couldn't see out the windows, but he knew that bear was there!

TINA - you need some REST, girl! Hang a Do Not Disturb sign on your door and turn your phones off! If you don't take care of YOU now, then you won't be able to take care of everyone else later!! Do it for them if not for yourself. Nurse's orders!! Don't make me come down there!!

CHICKIE - I have been keeping my eyes out for a stray cat for years and years and never see them. I saw one once 40 years ago in Tremonton, Utah and didn't rescue itand still feel guilty. We were moving to CO and stopped for breakfast. Already had big dog, another cat, a litter box, house plants, suitcases, and a toddler in the car, following Mike in our U-Haul truck. come to think of it, I'm not sure that cat would have considered itself 'rescued' to be tossed into that mix! Anyway, I hope your new kitty become YOUR new kitty!

JANA - you have a big day planned at your house! It will be good to see all the kids! And Daniel is coming soon, too! How is Stu doing?

IRiSH - I know there's a lot going on at your house this weekend, too!

My son and DIL are coming over today and bringing a quilt that she made for her dad. She wants to put it on our quilting frame this morning and then go through Bill's quilting patterns, choose one, and get the Q-bot all set. then they will come back tomorrow and she will quilt it. She wants to do it all herself.

In other news, the Seahawks are playing today! Just a preseason game, but it will be fun! Now what supper goes well with football and 90*? Tacos? Burgers? Chili dogs? We just had pizza. Maybe some chicken/veggie/rice soup. I have everything for that and I can put it in the crockpot. I guess I'll know what we're having when I see it!

Hope your supper decisions are easier!

Well the kids are riding the pallet sled, leveling the lower 40. The only thing I know I am making is a bread pudding.

Baden and I are enjoying the fun from the deck.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from pleasant SE Kansas! We are 86 with a heat index of 87—lovely!!! The humidity is only 42%, and there is a breeze… a pretty summer afternoon!

Mom was doing well today. Her quilt is going to be so pretty. We had the chicken salads from Braum’s for lunch—our usual. I got very little at the grocery store today. When I shop early in the morning, I buy out the store. When I go after Mom and I have lunch, nothing interests me. I may have to go to town sometime this week if I can’t make do from the freezer.

MaryZ—maybe you should look into the “treats” form of flea med that lasts 3 months. So far, so good here with it. I can’t imagine trying to find skin for Scotty’s application.

I haven’t seen the kitty since that one evening. It either stays out of sight or has moved on. Every so often you see them hunting in the fields. The Tom kitties look for a girl cat then move on. We had several different daddy cats when Little Bit was living in the barn. Even she left when her milk wagon ran out and the bucket calves were weaned.

Jana—I haven’t had bread pudding in ages. It’s always so good! The kids sound like they are having a blast.

Becca--… bears, oh my!!! Vicky (mom of 6) had a cinnamon bear in her yard twice recently. Once it was raiding the humming bird feeder. I can do without bears. The coyotes come way closer to the house than I like. We find “piles” of evidence in the driveway. Oh, the Hooligans are adjusted fine after their showers. Tinker Bell has found the pond several times as has Boomer.

I can’t tell you what dinner is… not approved by Mary! It will be healthy with smashed potatoes and a salad. There will be watermelon afterwards.

Enjoy!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Irish - I sure you are enjoying the Wedding Shower and the visit with Kathy and Terry. Soak in all the love!

Becca - I am fine. Just sewing today and puttering. We took the car in for some repairs, so I am without car, but at least I will get a ride to pick up.

Maryz - So nice to have DIL and Son visit you! Will she need help picking out a design?

Jana - Sounds like the children are really enjoying themselves today!

I am not sure what we are doing for dinner, but I am aiming for dinner out.

Carol
