SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 24th
Good Morning!
We are warming up here, though not like the rest of the nation. We will be starting a run of weather in the low 80's for at least a week. Looking at the weather map on the national news last night, it would appear we are the only place in the country with tolerable temps!
CHICKIE - your mom is starting to worry me. I hope all she needed was a little nap. Glad your sis is back and your 'watch' is over.
CAAROL - it is too hot to cook! That's when we use the grill, the crockpot, or take the toaster oven out on the deck.
BECCA - Exciting to expect that new little sister for Sawyer and Talulah in Sept! and I see your DH's cousin is coming to visit?
IRISH - I'm wondering how your weekend is going . .
JANA - do you have your house back together yet?
TINA - I hope you and your company haven't melted completely away!
Well, the reason I went to urgent care yesterday was because we made sudden plans for a week of camping to visit our friends and I knew I couldn't get to my doc before we left. But in all the waiting at the clinic, though, we got a text and our trip has been postponed for a month. So I could have waited after all. Oh well. I spent the afternoon working on putting my Texas blocks together. I'm only about 1/3 done. Maybe today I'll get that one 'in the can', as they say.
Supper. You know, I have so run out of ideas. Maybe tacos? Somewhere I have a list of menus for when my well of inspiration runs dry. I can't even think where that list is! lol!! So let's go with tacos for now, OK?
Anyone have any other good ideas to share?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 24th
Good morning from a very sunny, getting warmer, SW. Pa....We're to be in the upper 80s, low 90s again today...I'm working on my own record, having the AC on 2 days in a row, lol.....I am not a fan of AC but does get a bit stuffy in the house, then I get chilly and have to go outside, weird, I know......
Mary, I'm thinking maybe you need a good shot of something "hard" to get rid of that bug, maybe 2 shots.....And where is this next trip taking you? Love to hear about your adventures......So, do you have the hugs all ready for Autumn?
I didn't go to church this morning, can't leave Jim alone any longer and he couldn't go...But, he's forever wanting to go home, so, I am going to take him for a ride...We'll go get corn, stop at the Library and maybe get him a treat at Wendy's....All afternoon, yesterday, he kept saying he was leaving but there was a "different" car parked next door and he was afraid to go out (thank goodness)...It's almost a constant battle, trying to convince him, this is his home..Even after we talk about his Dad building the house and him living here, the next thing he'll say, "Let's go home".....But, I'm working on getting some sort of help, maybe just someone to stay if I have to run out...Life is full of challenges but as I've said, we muddle through............
You've heard me talk about my "big" garden, well, would you believe in the middle of the afternoon, yesterday, I saw a nice big deer walk right though the yard and head straight for the goodies...I figure, it had to have been extra hungry so be out during the day, so I left it alone.....Not much left for them to munch, lol...But, I did get another cuke and a hand full of beans...Still have 2 tomato plants planted in the flower bed near the house and hopefully, the deer will let them alone.....
Hoping the weather isn't too hot and you all can enjoy the weekend...I don't see too much happening in this household. After our ride, I'm hoping Jim will take a nap and maybe I'll do some sewing....If not, I have a good book.....
As far as dinner, whatever I can get Jim to eat, even if it's just cereal......
Happy eating................

Irish I have deer here day & nite. One just brought her new fawn to visit.
Carol That is too hot to eat.Just drink a lot.
Chickie Sure sorry to hear your Mom isn't up to par.Enjoy DGDs visit.
Jana Hope you got it all in place by now.My DD is still unpacking, organizing,& changing fixtures.Hard work.
DH is having a really bad day so I made him a ham sandwich, all he wanted & then ate only half.I stayed home with him too.Made me a salad.

Good morning,
Almost time for church. We are mostly back to normal. A few big puctures to rehang and put all my pretties back in the curio cabinet. Nice to be normal again! LOL If I ever was normal!
Dinner - leaning toward chicken and a potato salad.
Enjoy,
Jana
Running late!

Irish... hugs to you!!! Hopefully the ride will let Jim think he is going home. It's just so difficult. Gland you are checking on some help. Do they have any adult day care centers near you? There were some in Joplin, and they were good for caregiver breaks as well as working caregivers.
Mary... it was shocking to me, too, Saturday when Mom wasn't up to lunch. I think the weather has a direct effect on her as well as everyone.
Tasha and I gave the hooligans flea shampoos, flea spray and Frontline in Friday night. Yesterday... fleas. Since we don't have carpet, they aren't hiding there. Again, this weather produces super fleas. I'll be glad to see a break.
Dinner tonight is Tasha's choice--chicken fried steak and gravy. We will have salads with everything in them, and something else... maybe.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
Mary, I'm sorry you're still feeling yucky.
Becca, hopefully your DH will feel like eating better soon.
Irish, sorry Jim is having a rough time.
Rosebud went home after lunch, it was a tearful goodbye. We had such a good time! We did get a lot accomplished though and we visited and had lots of fun! And we lucked out and the McSherry and Remondini family and friends reunion was Friday and Saturday so we had dancing and music to celebrate her visit here too! It was super hot here though, surprised I didn't melt her. I did remember to take a couple pics so I'll hopefully get them posted soon. Tomorrow I'll have all the kids and Tuesday and then I only have 9 days left before school starts and I have plans for 2 more quilt tops.
Tonight's supper is salad and maybe chicken strips
