Good Morning!
We are supposed to go to only 66* and have rain today. Bummer. I was working in the yard yesterday, got a lot done, and still had a lot to do, but my cousin came by with a quilt she wants me to repair so I shut down my gardening operation. I always brake for quilts!! But I got enough done for DH to fill four tractor bucket loads of debris and haul them off into the woods to our slash pile. I'd like to get back out there today.
JANA - yes, they clear cut the areas for the new housing developments. Then after they build the new homes, they plant new trees. There are four new developments in various stages right now with one more that is yet to be cleared - all within 1/4 mile of us. Raises the value of our property - 2-1/2 acres - but I'd rather have the trees. Our living/dining room (and quilting room) are also a light celery green, though we used Valspar paint. Very soft and refreshing colors. after 8 years we still like it.
TINA - well, if you're sure about the meatloaf because we still have some, though it's not getting any younger!! lol! Are you going to back to babysitting or just being a supportive gramma out there on the golf course? 100* is too hot for me!!!
CHICKIE - we raised corn growing up and our cattle always reaped the benefits, too. Daddy cut the stalks and over the fence they went! And because there was too much for our few cows to eat, he also stood them up in a shelter to dry for winter feeding. And we had a corn chopper. Sometimes he would run the stalks through the chopper and then feed that to the cows. And they also got the empty cobs. Spoiled cattle!
BECCA - I sure wish your hubby could travel. You would love to see your DGS's home here in WA. It's so pretty where he lives! Tiny town on the water - Hood Canal, it's called - but is part of Puget Sound. My parents used to live in that area in logging camps when they were early married in the 1930's. Mom was the camp cook. They moved here when the babies started showing up.
Tonite - off to have supper with Warren! No cooking again. After that, I guess it's back to the kitchen for me. I think I'll cube up the leftover meatloaf and put it in spaghetti sauce for tomorrow. But I'm on the edge of my 4-day rule, so I might do that today and pop it into the freezer. Bill takes great exception when I poison him. Poison for supper can be such a downer!
On that note, I'll let you get into your kitchens!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, July 7th
Good afternoon,
A little late with the house drama unfolding here. The kids new house won't be done in time for the mortgage. Bbut the builder has better townhomes across the street. Originally they thought that they couldn't afford them, but they can! So now we are praying for a spec home and the builder's willingness to change the contract location. It is in the builder's interest as the new one costs about 20, 000 more. To top everything off the kids real estate agent is Kate's mom and she left on a two week vacation in Florida this morning! Kate has a call to her and we are just waiting for the plane to land and her to call back. Kate is a basket case! The new home has a front and backyard, where the old one only had a front common space. OK, enough book written.
Dinner - out I hope - I should get to celebrate the birth of my youngest child - Aaron - he is 29 today. By the way, how am I old enough that my youngest is almost 30! LOL
Ethan is at a friend's house this morning. He will be here later this afternoon.
Miss you Irish - lots of hugs!
Enjoy!
Jana
