SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, June 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jun 02, 2016 2:47 am

good morning!! We have light showers this morning, just enough to gently water everything really good. We'll be in the sunny 80's by Saturday. I love it.

I've only got 5 of my 23 blocks left to do on my Heart of Texas quilt. I thought of all y'all when I did the chili block and had to applique an onion, chilies, and a bowl of steaming Texas chili! But I've set that project aside for a bit while I pull and cut fabrics for my sheep blocks for Chriss's animal swap. My sewing room is such a mess right now. A clean sewing room is a very sad thing, you know!

BECCA - I was reading your post yesterday too quickly and thought I read you were eating F--H on top of your ice cream! Arggghhh!!! So glad I took a second look!

SUE - What a treat to have you join us at the table! You know what I'm talking about with those berry vines! lol! I don't think I've seen kudzu, but from what I've read, I bet it's a good analogy!

JANA - your boy is a smartie! And I didn't know this, but dishwashers, even ones wired in correctly, can be a terrible fire hazard! I don't like to leave ours running - or any appliance, really - when we're not home. Or at night. Now, are these 'animal games' you are playing actual games or are they Jana games? Are the rules on-line? Most game rules are, you know. Bill and I LOVE games of all sorts. We always had a game night when the kids were at home. And since you're into animals, you should check out Chriss's animal swap she just posted . . . C'mon, join!! It'll be fun!!

I'm thinking tonite we're going to have a chicken tamale casserole, salad, and maybe refried beans. And I need to make a horseradish dip for some raw veggies, too, for snacking.

What is tempting your palate tonite?

Good morning :)
We had a beautiful cloudy day yesterday, this last week we've gotten a whopping .07th of rain. ... sure wish Texas would share.
We had real food last night, tacos! We've been doing canned soup and I did make beans so those lasted for days. Mom is supposed to be released today and they're coming here tomorrow for a couple of days to look at a property I found. ... hopefully they will sign the purchase agreement while they're here. I'll probably get a roast for tomorrow night and do burgers one night and make those homemade hamburger buns Mary posted the recipe of :) I'll make some sides too. ... gotta bribe them with food do they know what they've been missing hehehe

Good morning from a semi rainy, semi sunny, kind of day in SW. PA...We really do need the rain but it puts a damper, no pun intended, on my wanting to be outside...But, the plants will be happy.....

Mary, Your financial guy must be related to the one we have...And then to really make me laugh is when our attorney either calls or emails me with a question about our "estate planning"...Didn't think our $1.98 would be called "estate"....And my sewing room is far from being sad, has to be the happiest place around....I might have to give it a lick and a promise before Nick gets here for the weekend....I do like your idea about the S&D frequent flyer miles, might have to mention it to him.....Funny about the kudzu..The 1st time we went to N.C. I thought it was gorgeous, still do, but ask any of the locals what they think of it....

Jana, Glad to see the kids getting out of that place...I'm like Mary, I don't let anything on if we're not here, won't even let the toaster plugged in during the night....For awhile last night, I thought your Sharks might take it....Oh well, onto to the west coast and on to the pharmacy for me to refill my heart meds......

Yesterday, I finished planting the garden, I think, plus I tried to finish up the rest of the flowers but ran out of steam....Not sure what all might happen but I think I have to call dear old doc about my arm...I still have a good size hematoma and I guess it should be looked at......Jim also needs a haircut and if Nick is coming, we need to stock up.....Hopefully, I will get to that messy sewing room for awhile.....
Did have a call from Terry and his soon to be ex finally moved into an apartment yesterday...Now, he and Nick will be moving back into the house and getting it ready to put on the market...Just cleaning up after her might take months.....Just getting them closer to moving back to Pa.....

For our dinner, left over chili....It was good last night, will be better tonight unless we decide to do the errands and the car has other ideas.......You just never know, around this house.....

Happy eating..................

Good morning!

Yes, the games are online - Killer Bunnies - you buy a starter pack and add on other packs. We have a ton of them. Even my little grands, Andrew and Logan live to play with us. Exploding Kittens, I don't know to much of - Daniel found that one. The kuds buy alot of their games at Amazon.

We too never leave things plugged in or running. It is a ritual as Michael goes out the door to make sure nothing is left on or plugged in.

Irish - yes, not a good sports day here, Sharks lost and so did my Giants. But alas, it is June, and every June, my Giants swoon and lose.

Tina - hope that uour parents sign and move closer soon.

Dinner will be meatloaf, baked taters and trimmings.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,Sunny but hoping we get the showers they are calling for.

Maryz F--h on ice cream would be horrible.Yuck! The kudzu is much worse than berry briars. It takes over everything in its path.Trees too.Although some people make baskets from the vine & they even make jelly. Don't ask me how but they do.It was brought into our country not native here.DD is going home today.Moves on June 21. She will really miss Avery. She is 3 hrs from them.

Irish I know you are happy Terry is making headway on getting closer to you.
Tina Sure hope Mom & Dad sign the papers willingly. And it works well for all.
Sue Glad you popped in.Come again .

Jana We never leave appliances running. And oh I would never use an extension cord for them.Really sounds like an accident waiting to happen .

After my town trip I am whipped as last nite was one of more awake than sleeping.May need a nap.DH wants Alfredo Fetticiotti.I have ham & plan to sautée some Kale with garlic. We have doughnuts from bakery & lots of ice cream for laters...,,Becca
