SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Apr 04, 2016 4:38 am

Good Morning!

Our sunny weather is gone and now we have chilly temps and a bit of rain. but only for a few days. We'll be back to the mid 70's by Thursday we are told. I did get one flower bed weeded yesterday. This time of year, there are a gazillion little maple trees to be pulled. And a gazillion that I miss. Arghhhh!!

CHICKIE - a read your account of your cattle round-up over in the sew-in. lol!! Nice to have a little adventure at your little house on the prairie!

JANA - I'll be you have all kinds of great train-watching spots! You make me think of Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory TV show. He loves trains and took a train trip all over the country. He never got off the train - just rode and rode and loved it!

TINA - glad you are back with us! Grilling burgers sounds so summery. We would have done that, such nice weather here, but we're out of burger and neither of us felt good enough to go to the store.

BECCA - sorry your DGS's first adventure after discharge is a breakdown! But all the sweeter when he finally does get home and resettled! Is home near you?

IRISH - sounds like your friend, Jim, really had a terrific birthday celebration! What a memory! I remember my dad was also a K of C member. You just brought back one of MY memories!

CAROL - I hear you about having to get back into a project once you've been away from it for a while. I'm that way with sewing in general.

Today will be a few uglies and maybe one or two loads of wash. Nothing big. And starting to plan my DGS's long-requested Seahawk quilt. And maybe a nap. Tonite I plan to wow my hubby with some kind of pasta with marinara sauce that I had in the freezer. And a salad. That will be fancy cooking after what we've been eating the last 3 or 4 days! lol!!

What will wow your plate tonite?

Good morning from a very dreary, very wet, SW. PA. Not a good day for being outside but every thing is growing and green! I have a feeling Jim is wondering if the lawn mower will start.....

Mary, you've accomplished more than I have with the flower beds...Mine are still leaf covered even though I bought myself the cutest little rake....But haven't been outside long enough to use it...One of these days!

This has to be another quickie...One of the lunch gals wants to try out a new place today so you know, I can't refuse...The other gal left for Florida and hasn't made it back yet...But, we'll sacrifice and check out the new eatery.....

After we got home from breakfast, yesterday, the day was mostly spent in front of the TV...Our Pirates had opening day (which they won) and then the Penguins came on later (which they won), so it was a full day of good sports...

That's about it for my day..If I get back in time, I'd like to play with some fabric I have cut but we'll see....

As far as dinner, there might be left overs from my lunch or I might have to find a frozen dinner for Jim...I keep a couple of already frozen things for days like this....

Happy eating..................

Good morning!

Guess what - kids showed up to visit and cooked us dinner here, so the chicken still awaits. I will bar the doors and windows, no kids and I am cooking it today! LOL

Ethan and Emma will be here this morning. The two need to find trouble to get into.

Ready to fuse the nativity together and stitch it.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Mary—THAT’s the kind of excitement I can do without! LOL! Actually, it’s not as bad as some of our excitement, and at least they weren’t across the road!!! Amazing how those little helicopter maple seeds are so viable! I used to battle hackberry sprouts.

Irish—you are probably checking out that new eatery as I type… hope it’s a great place, but if you are with friends… THE BEST TIMES! I need to do some yard work, but I put it off until after frost date… April 15. Once I got to go to opening day with the Royals, and it snowed. DH spent the game in the restroom listening, but DD and I stuck it out in the cheap seats.

Jana—anytime I don’t have to cook is delightful, and of course, visiting with your family… again THE BEST TIMES! I’m sure your chicken will be yummy! I vote for chicken soup with dumplings!

Dinner tonight… I found a package of ribs in the freezer—last of a TOUGH calf we butchered. I loaded them up with meat tenderizer and homemade BBQ sauce (courtesy of Tina’s recipe for pork ribs… these are beef) and stuck them in the oven in a roaster pan. I hope they are edible this evening… low and slow!!! To go with… I’m thinking maybe pasta Alfredo with some broccoli—do you think DH would notice he’s eating “green stuff”? I have salad makings as well.

Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!
It is 5 PM here and I am cooking yesterday's dinner, because DH took me out last night. So today I am making Chicken Parmesan, baked potato, salad and vegetable.

I have been so busy today! First bone density test, then Target. Home to make a couple of phone calls, and lunch. Had to meet someone so she could give me a block to do for next year's opportunity quilt for the guild and went to the gym (literally across the street from our meeting spot). Afterwards, home to change and out to make a trip to post office, bank and grocery store. Did you see why I did not get any sewing time in there? Tomorrow will be small sewing group so several hours of sewing.

Maryz - Glad you get to eat real food today.

Lady Carol - That horrible cold has been making its rounds here too. I have not caught it, but friends and family have been sick for 3-6 weeks.

Chickie - I hope the ribs are tender!

Jana - Kids do tend to entertain one another. Hope they don't make too much mischief.

Irish - Glad to hear your teams won. Sounds like you had a great day.

All is well here!
Have a great day everyone.
Carol

Hi everyone! Finally making it to the table. ... just finished some strawberries. ... yummy inthe tummy! We had banned food, zucchini, oceanv and salad and strawberries for after.
We've had beautiful weather Saturday, Sunday and today. ... tomorrow and Wednesday it's supposed to be nasty windy dirt blowing.
Mary, glad you two are feeling better.
I've been working on my sewing room swap blocks, they're very fun. .. any takers for that swap? Don't you need a wall hanging for your sewing room or where ever? :)
