SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Mar 29, 2016 4:57 am

Good Morning!

We are headed into a 5-day streak of sunshine and flirting with 70-degree temps! Purrfect yard-working weather. But I have two appointments today for a mammogram and a bone density test. Smack in the middle of the day. Hardly any time to get into anything else.

IRISH - just how do you dye eggs with silk ties? I'm so curious! If you told us, I missed it. I do hope your last eagle chick arrives soon. He may have a tough 'go' of it with those older siblings.

JANA - so what's the new project you started yesterday?

BECCA - You should have video'd yourself doing the dryer repair. I don't know how yours is situated, but ours is such that you have to be in that tiny space to work on it, but to work on it, you can't be in that tiny space!! I feel for your hubby. My brother is the same way - advanced Parkinsons, cardiac issues, bladder cancer, extreme fatigue as they all take their toll. And he is such a nice, NICE guy. He just doesn't deserve this and I'm sure your hubby doesn't either.

Our soup was gosh-darn good last night. And there's more for tonite. So if DH is happy with that - and he always is - it will get a re-run tonight. Then I guess it's on to new food.

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - It is so nice to have soup that you can enjoy for a couple of days!

I took the day off to make sure I am not too tired to work the next few days. Then it will be Spring Break! Yeah!!

Easter dinner was a Pork Roast. We had it again last night, so tonight I am baking a chicken breast. We will need mashed potatoes, salad and broccoli with it.

Good Evening All.....Wet and Windy and Cold.....but on the whole.....not too bad a day.....storm Katie appears to be running out of steam......or should I say....Wind.....other towns have had this last storm a great deal worse than us......

now, remember that cousin of mine that went astray....well cousin no3(younger sister) has told me she had moved and not given anyone the new address.....she has slight Dementia and now her husband has it too,so 2 sisters and 1 brother now know where each other live...except a cousin who is still hanging on to an extra quilt.......I"m not being too flippant here.....but I"m thinking....wow....much more excitement and I"ll either have to change my name .....or....buy me a mountain of duvets to hide under.....

so.....tomorrow I am going on a fabric treat to my local quilt shop....they have opened a warehouse....so with a bit of luck.....I may forget all about time and have to have lunch out as well.....hows that for a plan......hey......I thought it was a good too.....

todays menu...Leftover Turkey in Honey and Mustard Sauce....Creamed Potatoes....Sweet Corn....no afters.....but....Jammy Doughnuts with Coffee later.....

Good afternoon!

Today is the last day of Easter re-runs. I’m going to have to start cooking again tomorrow. Sigh! I’m thinking soup tomorrow night so I can stretch it out!

MaryZ—I saw Jeffrey Zacarian dyeing eggs with silk ties on The Kitchen. I’m sure Foodnetwork has how to do it. I can’t remember if he used vinegar as the catalyst. They were beautiful!!!

I didn’t tell you about Boomer’s big adventure Saturday afternoon. We were riding around checking cows and just enjoying the day in the woods when we heard Boomer “on the trail”, then Odie and Tinker Bell chiming in with lots of barking and backup. We saw them around a tree stump in the woods and got out to have a look… hopeful it wasn’t a skunk! There was enough snarling and growling that if I didn’t know better, it sounded like a bear. (No bears in these woods.) All we could see of Boomer was his tail sometimes and his back feet… sometimes on their side. He was really down in the hole after whatever it was. Odie and Tinker Bell were after it from the “front end” and were tearing at roots and dirt with gusto and singleness of purpose… to get IT!!! DH got them out of the way and looked down the hole with his flashlight… a BADGER! They can be bad a**, so we got out of there and called the dogs. After a minute or so as we took off, Odie and Tinker Bell joined us. Pretty soon, along came Boomer. I think he knew he couldn’t tangle with a badger without his backup crew!

I think I know now how Boomer loses his collars. I told DH if Boomer lost this new one, DH could be the one sticking his arm down the hole to retrieve it… otherwise, I’d be spending $4.49 on a new one and the badger could wear that one!!!

Lady Carol—I think it’s easier to accept dementia with humor than any other way. It’s such a difficult diagnosis… for the family, not so much the diagnosed person. Just have to hope they aren’t dangerous to themselves or anyone around them. You need some retail fabric therapy!!!

Carol—gotta love spring break!!! Ours is over in this area. Schools get out around the middle of May. I remember when I went to CA schools, we got out in June and started in September. Here they start the middle of August! Used to be Labor Day to Memorial Day, but no longer.

I just finished making a baby quilt using El’s Zoe-Christine fabrics… so pretty! My DD needs a gift for a co-worker. I’m doing two quilts so she can choose which one. She got a panel of “Good Night Moon” that would be sweet for either a boy or a girl.

We’ve walked Ava, now it is time to go make this week’s Bloom block before on to the next baby quilt…

Enjoy!

Hello all,Gorgeous day here.72 & sunny.Had a great walk with BF.We went to a new Park here that was built for Little League.Has 6 fields, picnic area.Big playground for kids.Creek borders the whole park.Gorgeous setting. They have a track that goes around the area. Also 4 parking lots.

Maryz If you only knew.We have to go down thru the floor ,then goes thru basement & outside. We was in all kinds of tiny places.I pulled DH out by his feet to get out of one place. It was Horrible but sure we saved a lot by doing it.I begged him to get someone but nothing doing.i was amazed he tried it.

I too would love to see those silk tie eggs.Bet they were beautiful.
Chickie You sure have adventures with your doggies.Sounds like mine used to be,

Carol 7 Know you are anxious to get out.I loved it when school got out.

Lady Carol Your adventures are one for the books.Glad you found out about the missing cousin.

We had a tragedy here in our small town.A young man was killed in a struggle .Drugs & alcohol involved. So sad.

We still have chicken pie so will be that with slaw & creamed potatoes.Oatmeal cookies for later. Becca

Good afternoon!

Oh, oatmeal cookies! One of my favorite cookies. Now I want some!

Dinner, well last night's banned noodle cassarole was replaced with soup and a sandwich. So tonight I will cheat again and do creamed banned sauce over toast. I am not in the mood to cook!

I did my bloom block yesterday and framed my four roosters today and they are now ready to hang on the wall in the kitchen. Just need a level, hammer, pencil and nails. Also will look inept and get Michael to do it for me - snicker snicker! Tomorrow I will start my nativity from Art to Heart.

Enjoy,
Jana
