SUPPER CLUB - March 17 - happy Saint Patrick's day!
Good morning, everybody! It is long lost me! We are not quite home yet. We are still on the Oregon coast but will be home on Saturday. The next two nights we will be a State Park on the Oregon side of the mouth of the Columbia River. Friends from Home are coming down to camp with us and they are bringing corn beef and cabbage. I may be Irish, but it is not my favorite dinner. But that's OK- once a year is fine, especially someone else's cooking! LOL but Friday night I am making spaghetti!
My mom always enjoyed her Irish heritage on st paddys day she would decorate the car with green paper flowers and streamers and she and her aunt disappeared for the day. We never knew where they went or what they did. But they had fun!
When my kids were little our dinner was always green food-barbecued hamburger pie with a Green crust, green mashed potatoes, green peas, green salad, green Kool-Aid, green tablecloth and napkins, and we all wore green. Even their Norwegian dad!
I have missed you all but will be home on Saturday. We have been gone longer than we had anticipated. I am even looking forward to the mountain of laundry I have to do and cleaning this cat hair-lined trailer! LOL
Enjoy this special day, Irish or not! Mary

Mary--I love hearing about your Irish mom and her shenanigans with your aunt!!! Soon you will be home! The Emerald City beckons... I know you don't go in to the city much, but still it's a beacon guiding you home.
Today will be more art quilting. I'll bind three more small ones and heat set the larger pieces (FQ size), but i think she wants to save them as fabrics for now and not quilt them. I'm so pleased with her results for a first time project!
We're making the stuffed peppers for dinner tonight and will put as much green as we can with them... lettuce, jalapeno poppers, green onions... The pi pie is gone. I don't know if I have any green jello... Maybe we will figure out something green for dessert.
Enjoy!

"Top of the Morn" to you all....."And the rest of the day".....
Wow, how nice to hear from our long lost Mary...It just isn't the same when she's not here, right?
This is going to be a quickie, I need to jump in the shower and get into all my "green finery" and meet up with the gals for a great lunch....Of course besides lunch, I have a full list of other places I need to stop at, including JoAnn Fabrics...
Jim will be on his own today but he also has a full schedule, lol...Irish music mixed in with westerns this morning, the Pirates this afternoon and then this evening, the Penguins are playing...Talk about being busy....
I know I won't be hungry but for dinner, we will be having the left over Shepard's Pie and shamrock cookies and green jello for afters.....
Hope your day is a good one....You know, today, everyone is Irish! Enjoy......

Top 'o the afternoon!
Mary - good to hear from you! Almost home. That was the best and the worst part of a trip. Almost there so it seems like forever to get there!
Irish -enjoy you lunch and shopping. What, Jim isn't into March Madness! BYU won last night and Utah plays tonight. I am not a huge basketball fan, but watch those two teams.
Chickie - what fun with your granddaughter! A budding artist. She will love making all kinds od designs with those dyes. None of her quilts will ever be the same!
I am about to put dinner on. Ethan will be here with us, so it will be quite fun with all the green foods and him. There is no Irish blood in my family, just Scottish, English and Portuguese, but we love corned beef!
Happy St Paddy's Day,
Enjoy,
Jana
