Supper Club, Thursday, February 25, 2016

Post by FarmChick » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:06 am

Good morning! I’ll set the table today since I know what’s for dinner here… pizza! Yep, re-runs from Tuesday night. I think I’ll have mine cold, but DH will want his warm.

Carol—we are such opposites with food. I make two different dinners frequently… same with most meals. Guess I am channeling my grandma who worked in a restaurant… mainly as their pie baker. She also was a cook for the junior college back in the 40s or early 50s. Mom was a career cook for the state children’s facility.

Irish—my late DH’s brother had a police scanner on 24-7. I couldn’t sleep when we spent the night up there because of all the noise. Your cooking frenzy sounds yummy!!! I thought of you yesterday… we went to Joplin for my dental appointment, Harbor Freight, Hobby Lobby and another appointment. Dinner was at the big Chinese Buffet. It’s all mouth-watering… fresh, clean, bright and totally delicious! I should have walked the 75 miles home… I had to taste a bit of most of it… No way could I get to more than a third of the way around the tables! So, how was your experience yesterday???

Becca—those storms are scary! Our bad weather (maybe) starts next month and can run most of the summer for tornadoes. Who knows, though—we still haven’t had winter snows.

Tina—every mom’s nightmare is to hear her kids’ names over the scanner. It’s nice to know what happens. We usually call the kids—they are the firemen, paramedics, EMTs and first responders and seem to know all that goes on around here.

Jana—That’s interesting how your son got into law enforcement! It all started with that train scanner… Did you say “ribs”?...

Well, pizza and salad. I might throw something together for dessert… or I might sew…

Enjoy your day and your dinner!

Good morning,

My kids will get here tonight. So I will have a banned nodle cassarole. I can reheat it easily if they are hungry when they get here. It is about a 12 hour drive to here from California. But knowing my Daniel's lead foot, might be sooner. LOL

I know tomorrow's dinner as well. A bunch of pot roasts in the crock pots, mashed taters, gravy, rolls and cookies for afters. With everyone here, we are taking a family picture. Our Stu won't be in it, but we are having Ethan hold a picture of him in the picture.

Enjoy,
Jana

Chickie, your day yesterday sounds busy but fun, especially the food part :-)
Jana, that's a good idea to have Stu's picture in the picture :-)
We had roast last night and barely made a dent in it, so that's what's for supper tonight, plus Kevin is coming home! I'll pop sone rolls in the oven for them plus we'll have salad.
