SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Feb 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Feb 15, 2016 3:38 am

Good morning and thank you, everyone, for the anniversary wishes. It was a nice day. Evening found us both nodding over TV by 8:30. And the magic continues! lol!

We have 50* and breezes with our rain this morning. Things always change as soon as it gets light so we'll see if it's a walking morning or not. Some rain I can deal with, but I never walk in wind. Too many tall trees here. They don't call those big limbs widow(er)-makers for nothing!

The RV show was fun yesterday and we saw some friends from our RV rally group. They had a booth hawking specialty vinegars. Did you know there is a chocolate raspberry vinegar? Between you and me - ugh!

BECCA - I hope it warms up for you. you don't need the ugly weather beast rearing up just when you have to go for your eye surgery. How long will you have to lay low after this surgery?

BECKY - oh, applesauce would be good in pancakes! Actually, most any fruits would be, I guess. Ask IHOP! lol!

CAROL - I've never heard that about the English eating pancakes on Fat Tuesday. Interesting! I wonder if LADY CAROL has. . . Sounds like an old custom. I'm excited to see your quilt! How did you do?

Well, I guess a lot of our crew was busy with their sweeties yesterday. I wonder if IRISH has laid another egg yet. And how TINA'S little Preston is doing. And if CHICKIE'S Tasha finished her quilt. And if JANA got her new little grandson.

DH has requested hamburgers for tonite. Actually, we should have chili burgers since we have leftover chili. With lots of fried onions on top with sour cream and shredded cheddar. OK, now I'm officially hungry!

What are you hungry for for tonite's supper?

Good morning,

No new baby yet. Tonight everyone will be here to celebrate Gracie's first birthday. She is a sweetie. She has caught up to where she should be, since she was 6 weeks early. Trying to walk and crawls all over.

Dinner will be some pork chops I found in the freezer with green beans and cake and ice cream for afters.

Irish - Happy Birthday to Jim! Know his day will be great.

Time to get going,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good early afternoon from a very dreary, cold, Sw. Pa...We are to warm up but it's not coming fast enough for me...If I get my hands on that ground hog, he's going to wish he had stayed in that burrow....

Mary, I just realized, I didn't make it here to wish you and Bill and Happy, happy anniversary..It sounds like you did have a fun day, as you always seem to do...And I don't know about the English and their Fat Tuesday pancakes but that had been a long, long tradition but this year, Jim got his a couple of days late, lol.....

Jana, thank you for the birthday wishes for Jim, I will pass them along....And, I also can't believe, Gracie is a year old already...You really do have a fun, loving house, don't you?

Becca, will certainly be thinking of you with your upcoming surgery..With a night in a motel, can you pretend you're on vacation...Maybe you can get breakfast in bed....

Yesterday we had a kind of surprise birthday breakfast for Jim...All the kids showed up and it was more like a reunion...I was kind of glad we met at the restaurant, I'd hate to have done all that cooking, lol....But later, he did say, he doesn't care for surprises, lol....Terry left to go back to NC and got caught in a snow storm and didn't get home until about 3:00 this morning, but he made it...Hate to see him travel up here but he feels he needs to see his Dad, often.....

Today is a catch up day, just not sure what I'm going to "catch up" on but I'm sure I'll find something....
And as far as dinner, I haven't a clue...Maybe Jim will come up with something special or maybe it will be grilled cheese and soup...BUT, our neighbor, buddy, Ted and his wife stopped up with a card and a box of apple fritters so I know what we'll have for afters....And who knows, we might just start with the fritters...............

Happy eating..............

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - I had never heard about the pancakes on Fat Tuesday either, but heard it from a Librarian who is English at one of the elementary schools. I thought it was interesting. If I missed saying it Happy Anniversary.

Irish - So happy you got to see your children! I know it made you very happy. Nice of them to surprise the father.

Becca - Best wishes for a successful outcome on your eye surgery.

Jana - Do enjoy the party for Gracie. One year olds are so much fun!

The steak last night was delicious and the baked potatoes were perfect!

The quilt show results won't be out until the third Tuesday of March. It is not a judged show but favorite of who attended. Our guild does quite a few categories. I was actually very surprised at the attention my quilt received. The show was really very good, but not a lot of vendors.

Tonight's dinner is one of my favorites -- we are going out to eat! It will be lots of fun
Have a Great Day!
Carol

We had a nice quiet day yesterday, went to the movies, Frankie shushed me because I was laughing too loud LOL oh well it was funny. We ate at the truck stop about 13 miles west of town, it was really good.
Tonight's supper is chicken fajitas! And guacamole and salad.

Good Evening All......Chilly with a bit of sun.......

sorry I keep disappearing every so often......this time.....I will try to hang around a bit longer......

going through a "lethargic" time at present.....don't know what to blame for it......my low blood pressure.....my under active thyroid......or the recent chest infection......whatever is.....my get up and go.... has got up and gone......

anyway....here I am.....still on mostly soups.....both of us.....however I do dress them up with some swirls of cream(naughty) or some crutons....but tomorrow.....promised us a Roast with all the trimmings.....mustn't get too excited though....or just my luck.....the bl...y cooker will give up the ghost though lack of use...
I have tried to "lurk" but kept dozing off.....did a bit of FB trying to keep up with the family....but that didn't always work.....however I did see IRISH has a smashing medicine chest.....and MARYz and Mr MARY had an Anniversy....IRISH promised to share....and congats to the "Z"s
because I haven't been able to keep with the conversations.....not sure about the "fat Tuesday" pancakes bit .....but we do have a SHROVE Tuesday(that was last week)where we do pancakes.....in some towns and villages they have Pancake races.....the women race up the road tossing pancakes and the winner is who get to the finish first without losing the pancake......

so todays "menu".......Tomato and Basil soup.....with Crutons....Rice Pudding for afters.......

Lady Carol
