SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:57 am

Good happy morning!

My sisters just left about 1/2 hour ago. My DD and SIL took them too the airport. And Bill left at the same time to go to the "Y" for his M/W/F workout. It is Q-U-I-E-T here! Scottie is so lonesome! First my brother left him 4 days ago. Scot got to go out for smoke breaks with him and loved it, even though Gene called him "Flea Farm". Now his aunties have left. Poor bored Scottie. He loves company!

Jim got the last of the tubes/drains/IV's out yesterday. Rehab is in sight! Today or tomorrow. He is doing well, I believe. Now he has another couple of weeks of PT before going home.

IRISH - I'm so happy the little eaglet got free of the fishing line! His parents must be confused. Your Jim's birthday is the same day as my late FIL's - Feb 15th. (my DH#1's dad). He would be 96 this year.

TINA - I am never unhappy to be alone now! Though there was a time in my life when I'd have given a lot to see a car drive in my driveway - even the meter reader was welcome company! How are your parents doing? I'm sorry, I've kind of lost track with all the activity in my own life lately.

JANA - that is too funny about Ethan. But my grands were the same about french toast. Wanted me to teach their mom how to make it MY way. Which was no different than how she was making it, since I taught her! lol!

CHICKIE - so nice to have your DGD visit. But I'm still chuckling about her stash enhancement plan! Hug the hooligans for me!

CAROL 7 - a lot of family on my dad's side are from PA, too! and are still there. More there and in NY than here in WA. My Grandpa was 1 of 12 kids and he was the only one who left the area.

BECCA - I have you marked on my calendar for Feb 18th for your eye surgery. I'll be sending prayers for you that day. I have another friend having surgery tomorrow, too. Seems to be going around - operations, that is.

Well, I'm still just sitting here listening to the quiet. The purr babies are asleep and even my own hooligan is dozing. I guess I'll go sort the laundry. I enjoyed all my siblings but it's kind of nice, after two weeks, to be back to just us again.

Oh - supper! I almost forgot! We have some pasta left over - just enough for two. Ditto with the salad makings. So no cooking here - just eating! Good thing because I've cooked enough the past two weeks to feed an army!

Good morning,

Mary - you did feed a army! I know it is nice to have family, but it is really nice to have quiet normal routines! Poor Scotttie.

Well my tule fog lifted awhile ago, but is back now with a vengeance. LOL I can barely see the railing on my deck. Just wait 5 minutes and it will be gone.

Dinner - still on the back burner of my brain.

Just talked to Matt and he is thinking that we will have a new baby possibly by the weekend. Things are progressing. I told him that Logan was born on Crenda's mom's BD, so little Baden can be born on mine. ;) we will see, three on one day!

Enjoy,
Jana

Becca - yes we just had one, Karlie on November 30th. Karlie is my Daniel's first child, he is the one in California. This new one is my Matt's child, his fifth. So I now will have 10 grandchildren.

Good late afternoon from snowy, cold, wintery, SW. Pa....We only have a couple of inches of snow but it's way too many for me but who listens to me, it's still snowing! At least the streets are cleared, not that I'm going any where, lol....

Mary, poor, poor, lonely Scottie...Maybe you should get him a brother or sister to fill the void...But, I know what you mean about enjoying the quiet..It's kind of funny, I enjoy when Jim goes to visit our neighbor, his buddy, Ted....But such good news about your brother, he'll be home before long....Is he still wanting meat loaf?

Jana, I love, love hearing about those babies but I can't keep them straight...We have 13 grands and they are spaced from 16 to 38 and the 3 great grandsons are 1, 3, and 5...So far mine are easy to keep track of....And how lucky to be one of "your girls"...They will be learning a lot and from the best.....

Becca, how can you have sunshine when we're having snow???"Ain't fair"...And I have your date on my calendar...No doubt in my mind, everything will be fine....

I'm really late today, time just seemed to get away from me and here it is almost dinner time...And you know, I honestly don't see where I've really accomplished anything...I did finish the bathroom curtains or I should say, 1/2 finished and need more fabric for the valance, darn another trip! But, what I did was, sat on the floor in the spare room and sort pictures..Talk about getting a numb bum! Kathy had mentioned she was missing pictures of the kids when they were younger so, guess who is getting a huge box of photos, whether she wants them of not....I had 6 of those photo boxes and after sorting, I'm down to 2...Not only Kathy is getting photos, rest of kids should have their's also, right???I have all these pics on a CD so why do I need doubles...Just cleaning out and it felt good....

Well, now on to dinner...Jim wasn't hungry last night so the shells will try it again tonight...He was just in the freezer getting an ice cream sandwich and if he thinks he's going to call that dinner, he's badly mistaken....I don't care if it is a sandwich, no way! Might be a little spat in the household but dinner will be stuffed shells, garlic bread and that salad, SO THERE!

Happy eating...........

Eagle Update: The little eaglet is still at the rehab hospital and is coming along fine...There were no broken bones and didn't need any surgery...As soon as they are satisfied there is no nerve damage, they will be taking him back to the nest...It's quite interesting watching them care for this baby...In order not to imprint, they all wear masks and of course gloves...Being so young, he/she might start to think of them as it's parents and they have to be sure they cover up..But, the little bugger was eating like a trooper and I'm sure the parents will be glad to get their baby back....I was surprised at how big the baby really is..Looking in the nest, they look like balls of fuzz but they probably weigh a pound or 2 and might be close to a ft. tall...
I wonder if they need help getting it back in the nest, ummm.......

I'm sliding in to my chair :-)
Irish, so glad they helped the baby eagle, I hope the parents accept it back.
I guess it was good I had a 3 day weekend because this week has been rough. I have whining crying not wanting to eat or nap boys, ugh, it's almost 3 and I'm exhausted.
Tonight's supper will be pork tenderloins and salad I'm guessing, not sure if anything else.
Tina
