SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Jan 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jan 24, 2016 4:47 am

Happy Sunday!

Especially to our lucky ones who have the makin's for a snowman! Here, if I made anything from our outdoor 'supplies' it would have to be Aqua-man. Sigh. But the wild ducks are happy, swimming all over our lawn, teasing our brave guard dog!

My TG quilt is almost all quilted and my vintage trailer blocks are almost ready to start assembling the top. Not sure how much sewing I'll get done today since we're going to breakfast at 9am and then watching football probably the rest of the day. Bronco's play at noon, I think. I'm not sure when the other game is, but probably around 4-ish? Guess I'll do laundry since the machines are right off the TV room. and the laundry basket somehow got to be waist-high! Oh dear!

BECCA - your R.A. doll was the bomb! Absulutely charming! Oh, in case CHICKIE forgets to tell you, Ava is her little granddog and lives nearby. CHICKIE and her crew visit her during the day for treats and walkies.

IRISH - I'm happy you are in potty heaven! Oh, a jackhammer can make a mighty mess of dust all over the house! When we remodeled our downstairs bathroom about 18 years ago, we had to jackhammer through the cement slab the house is built on. We hung sheets over doorways and the stairway, and they helped, but still - there was some dust even upstairs.

CHICKIE - no quilts for the cows. Insert sad cow face here. You see blankets and quilts on horses . . . They must be the wimps of farm animals, huh.

JANA - what a cute Ethan story! He is growing up so fast!! Neat to have those sandwiches ready to pull from the freezer! What else are you making?

TINA - I bet your dad will only have to stay in rehab a week or so. Depends on how the PT goes - which really means it kind of depends on him. My mom didn't get PT after her hip replacement in 1987 and she refused to do the exercises. And so never got off crutches for the rest of her life. There is a window post-op to do the PT and after that window closes, it's bye-bye mobility! Your dad is a young guy! All my brothers are older than he is!

Well, I'm going to make another fishing expedition into the freezer today. I'm almost positive there are some enchiladas in there but so far they aren't whats been falling out and hitting my toe!

I hope your supper doesn't break your toe tonite!

Good afternoon from a very sunny, very "white" SW. Pa...We do have snow but they have done a great job with the streets/roads and it's not too bad, but we're staying in....Even our Bishop announced, it was OK to miss Mass this morning.....

Mary, you are indeed a whiz with those quilts..Oh boy, we do have the makings for a snowman but you don't think I'm going out to give it a try..Jim has already been out playing with his shovel and now is back in his recliner....Hope to never see another jack hammer or whatever those saws are called...But, all that dust/dirt was worth it, live is back to being good!

Becca, you would have to make cinnamon rolls on a day when I'm not leaving the house...Darn, that whole meal sounds so good.....

Chickie, if you don't make the quilts what about little booties for their feet? That would surely be a trend setter......Be the 1st, get with it, (in your spare time, of course).....

Today is a nothing day...Nothing on my list that has to be done so I might have to either sew or read or both.....Our Penguin game was cancelled but I did hear there might be a couple of football games on later......
So, no good breakfast with our friends, just coffee and banana bread...But, hopefully, I'll make up for it later, maybe....I did pop some potatoes in the oven and maybe a couple of stuffed chicken breasts might taste good.....Right now, I'm not hungry so I can't think.....

Happy eating........

Stay warm, please stay safe....

Eagle update: Still waiting for a pip (tiny hole in the shell) in the Ft. Myers nest...You know how babies are, they come when they're ready while we all pace...
The Panhandle nest eagles are growing like weeds...They're into their weird stage, not sure what to do with those big feet and wings...
The Georgia nest is incubating eggs
And our 2 nests up here are just in the remodeling stage....

Mary, I bet your vintage trailers are going to be the cats meow!
Irish, thanks for the eagle updates, I really love hearing about them :-)
Becca, your supper does sound tummy :-) I made poppy seed rolls and froze them, took some to Dad yesterday, he was very happy about that.
I just finished, vacuuming, mopping, 1 bathroom, stripped the bed, even washed the quilt and it's on the clothesline and cleaned the front yard again. I need to finish the rest of the laundry, do the other bathroom and clean the kitchen but as soon as I get the bed back together I'm going to park myself in my recliner and take a nap :-)
I'm thinking burgers on the grill for supper and a salad on paper plates so I don't have anything to clean up :-)
