SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Dec 29th
Not too much left of 2015. What a whirlwind year! Jam packed! almost too packed.
I think today is supposed to be a dry day with maybe even a few peeks of the sun, though only about 40*. Purrfect for working in the wood - which we skipped the last two days. So we'll see what "the Boss" decides to do.
TINA - glad you and all your people survived the holiday and the storms! Who won the game last night? We didn't watch it. Forgot it was on.
JANA - are you describing that new crockpot that is shaped more like a casserole dish? Oblong shape and more shallow than most crockpots? I would like one of those, but then I'd have 4 crockpots - and storage is already an issue.
LADY CAROL - so glad you are back among us! Yes, a while back no one was able to get on the forum for about 3 days. My DH, a former IT supervisor, said that QIAD probably took it down for maintainance and updating. But there could have been a problem. My DH isn't ALWAYS right. (he just thinks he is, and I let him go on thinking just that whenever possible.)
CHICKIE - turkey and noodles sounds delish to me. But Bill just has to leave the house. For some reason the smell of of the simmering carcass makes him sick. Of course, this has left him open to my sister sending him mixes for turkey soup every Christmas! lol!) So now I just get turkey breasts. works well, since we really only like the white meat anyway. And I stretch the broth and make soup that way. Strange boy.
BECCA - I wonder what that one person was thinking, not wanting the road paved. If an opportunity like that came up, I'd jump on it if I lived on a dirt road. Which I kind of do - our driveway is 1/10 mile long. Dusty in summer, muddy in winter.
CAROL - my Riley kitty was 14-1/2 yrs old when Scottie came to town a little over 2 yrs ago. She's surviving and he's learning some lessons about elderly cats! lol! And it only took a few days for Scottie and our young cat, Foxy, to become best buds. They play together all the time.
IRISH - yoo-hoo?? You must still be enjoying family!
Well, our day took a twist yesterday (not unusual!) so once again, we just had salad for supper. We DB and SIL called and wanted us to go to lunch with them and my middle brother who lives 75 miles away in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. so we met at a Denny's halfway between. DH and I split a burger, but it was enough to fill us up through supper-time. Just had a few empty corners to fill come suppertime and a salad did the trick. So I think I'm going to give up trying to plan a menu any more! lol! Tonite - who knows!!
I wonder what will surprise you all tonite?

DD fixed burgers, homemade French fries, jalapeno poppers and salad last night so I had my burger and salad
Mary, the Broncos were behind into the 3rd quarter so Frankie decided we'd just come home, I tried watching it live but my internet must not be fast enough, I told him something said Broncos lead first time in game then it went to OT and the Broncos won! I think he should've stayed and watched it all LOL
Tonight's supper will be those leftovers and that'll be the end of them.

Good morning!
Mary - yes it is like a long cassarole dish and not quite a tall as my old round one. I put the new one in the kitchen, easier to get at and the other in what I call my central hall pantry.
Tina - the game was a good one. DH, is not a fan, so he changed the channel and I missed the last 4 minutes of the game.
Dinner is leftovers.
Hugs,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Dec 29th
Good early afternoon from a rainy, dreary, slightly cooler, Sw. Pa...It's only going into the mid 50s today but that's better than the normal temps this time of year.....
Mary, no more enjoying the company, house is back to being boring and quiet....My guys left yesterday afternoon and I really had a hard time letting them go, gets harder and harder each time...For sure, it's time to get them back up here.....I just sent them all a text, informing them of the things they forgot and they would be held for a hefty ransom...Nick wrote back and said, he'd pay, just don't hurt them! Silly kid!
But, it was a great Christmas another one of the best holidays ever...Maybe it's because I'm getting older but I sure do enjoy having everyone home even if it's a lot of work.....
Today is trying to climb Mt. Washmore which might be a loosing battle...I started yesterday after they left and the washer is still going strong....Other than the laundry, not much happening..Starting to gather up some of the decorations but not in any hurry....BabyGirl has been sleeping under the tree so I can't take the tree down...It could be spring before she decides to find another "favorite" spot.....We don't dare disturb the Baby!
As far as dinner, the fridge is still full of left overs...But, I'm thinking, we'll finish up the swiss steak and gravy....Might have to cook some potatoes...Jim can't have his gravy without the potatoes.....And there are still lots of cookies, so he's happy....
Have any of you had the cinnamon rolls from IKEA? I thought I made good rolls but these are great! The kids got me some the other day when they made their annual IKEA trip....
Happy eating....................

Hello from sunny NC.So great to see sun. After a nite of hard rain & wind.
Maryz Your wood cutting brings back memories. We used to do that & I always helped.
On the crochet lessons I was ready to quit but after today I feel like I just may be able to read & follow a pattern now.Today made a big difference. And as the teacher said the baby doesn't start off walking.
Irish I sure know the feeling when the kids leave.Leaves a big hole.Hope he gets moved soon but know it is important to let' them graduate.
Tina Hope you are resting.
Got all my decorations put away once again. It is a workout as I have to get under the stairwell.DGrands used to love to do it for me.
Plan to do some uglies & organize where all my Christmas linens are stored. We still have some turkey I plan to make some soup. And oh the goodies.Just take your pick.BF brought us 4 bags full.Of course DH is happy.lol. Becca
Ohm the road paving She wanted money.DH & the developer offered to pay & she still refused. So goes life.

Oh Jana, sounds like those last few minutes were where the action was.
Irish, I showed my younger brother a picture of your Baby Girl I think from Facebook, he fell in love, I think he gives Maryz a run for the money on cat lovin
he has 3 right now, he has Fiona, then a black one called Fez I think and then he has Squishy Kitty, I can never remember his name, I call him Squishy Kitty because he's the softest squishiest thing I've ever felt! He's softer than the softest squishiest stuffed animal I've ever felt, he's a soft muted yellowish tiger striped kitty. I'm going to have to ask him again what his real name is LOL
Becca, for years I couldn't read a crochet pattern, after I joined this forum and was able to read El's patterns a light bulb came on in my head and I've read quite a few patterns now
I hope that happens for you too.
I'm working on sewing my Sue's down.
