SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Dec 22nd
Today's the day!! More daylight!! Spring is coming, folks!
Today we're going into Tacoma, taking my Bernina, "Stitch", for a week at the spa. He's had a workout the past several months and needs a rest. In other news, Foxy had a bird and came running into the dining room with it. Poor bird was squawking something fierce! I finally caught the kitty and made it to the sliding glass door to try to get the bird away from him when the bird freed himself from the jaws of death, left half of his feathers, and disappeared like a wisp of smoke in a breeze! I didn't see him fly any place, he was facing the wrong direction to go out the open door, but somehow he's gone and my dining room is filled with feathers. Now Foxy is skulking around, pouting, Scottie is still barking, and Bill is saying, "What they hey! Why is this door open??!" Never a dull moment in this house!
IRISH - I thought of you yesterday as we were driving. I saw a license plate holder that said IRISH at the top, and Notre Dame on the bottom! Any more eggs yet? Are you a nervous 'gramma'? And a wedding dress already for an October wedding? Oh my, the pressure is on to not change in size!
TINA - sounds like your busy days are still ahead of you. Hope everyone brings contributions to your festive meals! Prayers for your dad.
BECCA - your Panthers are the wonder of the NFL right now!
CHICKIE - your family meals always sound so warm and festive and loving! Makes me wish I was there!
CAROL - I'm wondering what a pork chop skillet dinner consists of . . .
We're still in leftover mode here. I'm thinking of putting it all into a soup pretty soon. Mostly, we're just nibbling away at it all. And now, off we go to the Bernina shop! and a few other errands as well.
Bon appetit`!

Hi Everyone,
Maryz - Pork chop skillet dinner is brown pork chops, add 1/2 cup chicken stock, add cut up: potatoes, onions, carrots and celery. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. It is really delicious.
Tonight we will be having chicken a la king with biscuits and probably a salad. We had roasted chicken breast a couple days ago and I think it is time to be reincarnated.
Today I decided to take a break from baking. I finished wrapping the gifts I have and have prepared for wrapping the final gift which will arrive on the 24th. (I hope it is sooner!!)
Have a great day everyone.
Carol

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Dec 22nd
Good late afternoon from warm, now semi sunny, SW. Pa...We started off dreary with a little rain but then the sun came out and it's almost summer......62 degrees at the end of December is nothing to sneeze about...But, saying that, with these goofy temps, you know there will be lots of sneezing going on in a few days......
Mary, was wondering where you were...I stopped in earlier and thought, maybe you decided to stay in bed, lol.....Funny about Foxy but glad the bird got away....That's 1 reason we don't allow our's outside, they have to try to catch them from inside the window, which can get pretty funny....And so far we don't know if there is another egg...The cam went down yesterday and everyone is in a panic...Some one suggested using a drone...Does it sound like we all should get a life????In another nest in the Panhandle, 1 of the eaglets is trying to hatch, been pecking away all night trying to get out, poor little thing.....
Tina, Do you ever rest? I've never heard of anyone so busy and still remain sane...Well, maybe we just take if for granted in that department....I too, hope you get help....Sending good thoughts and prayers for your Dad.....
I just got back from a "why am I out shopping" trip.....Stopped at Aldi, crowded but the people were so darn friendly, then went to Walmart, crowded, cashier was friendly, then went to the Library and it was so quiet, I wanted to stay, stopped at the bank, busy and the teller told me all about her 7 fishes dinner, stopped at the Post Office and had a nice chat with a neighbor....All this really tired me out, so I don't think I'll be in charge of the menu tonight....
I know Jim knows how to heat up left overs (yes we also still have left overs) and I'm sure he knows how to open the freezer door and get himself some ice cream for afters...Sounds like a plan to me!
Happy eating.................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Dec 22nd
Good afternoon,
Waiting for my DDIL, Kate to show up with Gracie. We are putting the t-shirt quilt she is making for Aaron together - it won't get finished, but we have a good start on it.
They will be here for dinner tonight and then they are off to see Star Wars. Gracie is staying to play with Grandma - fun! I don't get to watch her very often. Dinner tonight is a cube steak, broccoli and a rice pilaf.
It is still snowing - I don't think we have had a break for more than 36 hours! Up in the mountains they have over 4 feet from this storm and more coming! The ski resorts are sort of happy and sort of sad - they love the fresh champagne powder, unhappy that the skiers can't get there! Many roads up the canyons are still closed - snow and avalanches. We have about 8 inches on the ground here.
Only a little bit more on one of my DGS quilt to get done - just a meander. He is a very special young man - he lives with Matt and Crenda. Both of his parents have died and he lives with a step mom that adopted him, but she has many unrealistic ideas of how a 17 year old boy is to be, hence he lives with Matt. He is a very good boy and this step mom just doesn't realize it. Matt does pull out his hair - with the mom, not the boy!
Well, break time is over -
Enjoy,
Jana

LOL Irish, you made my day
I have never said that I'm same
LOL too funny!
Only 2 things left to bake for the gifting trays! Holly and Has came and helped a bunch today. I'm running out of storage trays....
We're having a pot pie for supper, trying to not have anything big.
I came here earlier and fell asleep before I could finish reading LOL
