SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Dec 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 16, 2015 3:10 am

Good Morning!

Yesterday I got out there and finished my shopping for Bill. What a lucky guy he is! Everywhere I looked, there was a purrfect thing for him! I had such a good time! And I even picked up a few things that I knew he actually wanted! His stocking will runneth over!

IRISH - today is your Day of Mischief. Gosh, but I wish I were going with you! I like mischief! Could it be because there is "McDonough" in my blood??

CHICKIE - Congratulations!! you finished early! Maybe you can start a new project . . . so a rick is a half-cord. I wonder if I can remember that. lol! probably not! Yesterday, we fell heir to about two more RICKS of wood, already down and cut into rounds that just need splitting. Bill just had to take the tractor on the trailer over to some folks' house to fetch it. He used the tractor bucket to bring it from their back yard to the front where he could load it. A pretty fair-sized fir fell on their house in the windstorm. Big, beautiful new home - BAM! Big not-so-beautiful new hole in their roof!

BECCA - I'm not sure I'd go for that procedure either! But it would depend on the effects of not having it vs the possible side-effects of having it. I have a friend who had an eye problem - a hole in her visual field though I forget the exact diagnosis. She refused the surgery and within 6 months it healed itself. She used alternative medicine techniques. I hope your machine is happier today. I know when mine is cleaned, oiled, and the bobbin is full, it is much happier. Also, occasionally, I bump my tension control and don't realize it. Then my stitching gets all out of whack. It's the first thing I check now.

JANA - sounds like Christmas at your house! Snow, grandpas, little boys, trains, trees, mailing boxes!

TINA - I'm writing that down! I have been thinking of a pork tenderloin for Christmas dinner. I will either take it to my brother's house or have them here, whichever seems easiest for them. Your recipe sounds double delish!

I have an early massage appointment this morning, and after all the raking and wood-wrangling I've done this past 10 days, I need it. Then we're off to the hospital to be with my brother. I'm packing up my positive attitude and taking it along! (along with a baggie of yo-yo's to work on!)

Y'all have a stellar day!

Good late afternoon from a very sunny, warm, summer like, SW. Pa...I'm really getting confused, beginning to think I'm in Florida....Talked to Kathy again and it was snowing and in the 20s...This country sure is mixed up this year but I'm loving it....

Mary, I've been thinking of you and your brother all day...Hoping and praying for the best....It sounds like you really did have a good shopping day...Bill is so lucky, in more ways than just his Christmas gifts.....
And, we also wish you could have gone with us today..The Water Front is a shopping complex built on the old Homestead Steel Works right along the river...They put town homes right along the water and then all the stores and shops behind.....It is unbelievable, great place to just come and walk around but we did manage to spend a few $$$...I did have a hard time getting my sister out of Victoria Secret's...Not sure what she thought she was going to buy!BUT, the 1 place I really needed to shop at was closed...I had my Omaha steak list all ready and they're gone! Might have to switch to Schwan.....
While I was gone, UPS delivered a case of wine...I was so excited only to find, it was sent from Kathy to her DD and since it needed signed for, she figured 1 of us would be here, DArn!

So, now that I'm home and really worn out, I won't be doing much the rest of the day...Tonight is the Survivor final and that is 2 hours so I'll be propped in front of the TV...Good time to get another throw fringed....

My sister and I had Chinese for lunch and for dinner, Jim is having left over stuffed peppers that he didn't eat last night, along with banana nut bread for afters....

And speaking of afters, has anyone heard from Lady Carol? I really do miss her posts.....Hope all is well on her side of the pond....

Happy eating....................

Good afternoon -

Mary - hope and praying that things are working out for your family.

Dinner - cold and snowy here - still - so I think I will make a pot of broccoli cheese soup with the homemade bread bowls.

I have been goofing off all day - feels good not to be under pressure of getting things done and shipped. Daniel's box will be there on Friday - so I made it in plenty of time. Glad that California is only one state away! LOL Now I need to wrap what is here and get it in the sleigh - I do have a large red wooden sleigh - the little ones fit in it - so that is where the gifts go - no room under the tree between the cat and the train.

Looking at the Batt Cave and it needs a cleaning, but I am not in the mood, maybe later - yes later! LOL

Enjoy,
Jana

NO NEW PROJECTS!!! I will be doing my International Sunbonnet Sue commitment and trying to finish other projects in the works. My latest American Patchwork and Quilting magazine has shamed me sorely. There are 4 types of quilting personalities, and I am totally three of them! The one I am NOT is Organized Olivia. I'm pretty much a polar opposite and need lots of help. I'm really going to try although I think I hear Mary laughing.

Dinner here was fajitas... so good!

Mary, hope your DB has a good outcome!

Irish--I just knew you were going for Chinesjana--the great train robbery/derailment is so cute!

Becca--s'mores... yum!!!

Enjoy your evening!
