SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 13, 2015 3:23 am

Good morning!

We're in the middle of another storm. This time of year they roll in off the Pacific like a strand of pearls - just not so pretty. We haven't cleaned up much from the last 4 "pearls" yet! Just enough to clear the driveway.

IRISH - you were strong to fend off your sister. I might not have been able to resist. She sounds like a fun sister . . .

TINA - when you shop for your parents (and so nice of you to do that for them!) do they give you a list or do you have to figure out what to get? Hope you picked out something extra nice for yourself!!

CHICKIE - the news showed a huge storm system that looked like it would brush pretty close to you! And encompass Autumn down in Austin, too. Makes our storms look kind of puny by comparison. Hope all is good with you!

BECCA - Hoodsport always gets more rain than much of the rest off the state - annual average is 100". It's right on the water. But it's so pretty there!

Supper tonite - PIZZA! I have all the makings and it's great football food. And we plan to be watching our 'Hawks win!

I hope your supper turns out to be a winner!

The rain is pouring here, too! We missed most of last night’s early storms, and we haven’t had any bad stuff… just rain much of the night, and it’s coming down in buckets today. The pond will be spilling over by the time it’s finished. It still has quite a ways to go before that happens.

Mary—our storms, so far, have not compared with yours!!! We haven’t had high winds or major thunder storms, hail or tornadoes… yet… Pizza sounds yummy!

Yesterday I got enough ribs for a couple of days. I think I’ll put them in the crock pot and finish them off a little more… low and slow all day. It will be a tossup of baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, or macaroni and cheese, with perhaps broccoli or Brussels sprouts and a salad on the side.

This is an excellent day to stay inside and sew and watch the rain from my windows! I’m also doing laundry.

Enjoy!

Good early afternoon from summery, pretty darn nice, SW. Pa....I keep saying, how nice it is and I know, one of these days, my tone is going to change....But, we sure are enjoying it!

Mary, If Mother Nature put all that "stuff" in your yard and driveway, let Mother Nature come back and clean it up....Wonder if there's a Father Nature? Jim was out raking leaves with the help of a neighbor young fellow and I finally made him quit...I looked out once as he was about to fall over the hill..This was after he had been on the roof cleaning gutters...I'm going to have to put a leash on him....I really do think he's gotten weak from not moving enough and then he thinks he can do it all in one day....MEN!!!!!
Mary, my sister is a fun sister...She is 4 years younger than me, full head of pure white hair (gorgeous) and is almost twice my size..For the longest time, everyone thought she was older but now, she'll just say, she's the younger, bigger sis...I did tell her, I was taking her shopping on Tuesday..We have a place called the Waterfront and she's never been there...Lots and lots of fun....

Becca, all the time and I just realized, you live in N.C. Of course you're rooting for the Panthers! Are you close to Greensboro or Reidsville? I really do love it down there, almost as much as I love Florida....The Steelers are coming on soon but I'm not sure who they are playing..Jim will be in front of the TV, watching the game most likely with his eyes closed....

And speaking of Florida....So far, Harriet, the eagle hasn't filled the nest with eggs...Everyone is thinking maybe the new beau is just too young although he's sure been trying...Could be she's been very stressed with the loss of Ozzie or even blaming it on the weather...But, it's still fun to watch the cam...The life of the eagle is very, very interesting....Another month or so, the nest near me will start hopping...They have been bringing sticks, getting it ready.....And, you see, I could go on and on....

Our dinner tonight will be a repeat of last night with mashed potatoes added....Tasted darn good last night but then I was probably extra hungry.......I got Jim some special ice cream cones with carmel in the middle and he'll be thrilled....Doesn't really take too much to please him.....

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!

Food around here is quite bland and boring! Tonight will be the same, a grilled cheese and cup of cream of tomato soup, with goldfish. See, boring! LOL Afters maybe be jello!

DH is putting the track down. It needed to be cleaned - brass oxidizes. He has a helper, Ethan. Ethan came after church and is visiting for awhile.

I have a craving for a banned enchilada smothered in sauce and cheese - OK, a couple more days.

By the way, it was not Chipotle' s, but a hamburger chain, named Culvers - great frozen custard.

Enjoy,
Jana

Huge snow storm moving in for the next 4 days - button down the hatches east of me.

Oh my goodness, I'm so tired! I got everything wrapped and sorted as to where it will be going on Christmas Eve. Mary LOL she had me on the phone for over an hour telling me what to get everyone :-) it's just with my taste in stuff and not hers LOL I found my nephew a shirt that I think he'll really like but know they would never buy it LOL I try to shop for that person and not myself ;-) She said Dad will get mine but I really don't have a want or need.....well I had a need yesterday, my toes were frozen and I found some footie sock things that don't hurt my feet or ankles so I'm happy, my feet are warm :-)
We're having leftovers and frozen foods LOL
