SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Dec 12th
Good morning!
Happy weekend! What is your plan for the day? We are planning another wind and rain storm, so guess I'll be sewing. I did all my uglies yesterday except for our private bathroom. So I could clean that, I suppose. But why? No one sees it and it just gets dirty again. Right?! lol!
Our supper with our friends last night turned out downright edible. Or, as my sister's hubby always says about meals in his family, "not too crappy". It's the highest compliment they give in that clan! Glad I live in MY clan! lol!
IRISH - that James Patterson - he's a good man to fall asleep with! lol!
BECCA - If you haven't mailed your package to WA yet, I hope your post office has a package mailing machine in the lobby. Monday is, according to last night's newscast, the busiest day of the year at the post office. We always mail our packages from the machine during off hours, like Sunday morning. The lobby is always open so folks can get their mail from their boxes.
CHICKIE - that Chipotle chain now has another problem - I think it's the Noro-virus. So many of their restaurants are closed down again.
JANA - how are you feeling? Do you know what it was you ate that made you sick? You weren't at Chipotle, were you??
TINA - I know you've had a few rough days babysitting. Hope you are catching up on your rest today!
We have leftovers for tonite! Big surprise! We'll share the last piece of chix parm, and I'll fry up the leftover noodles with onions. There's also tossed salad that should be good enough still, as well as broccoli salad.
That broccoli salad is so simple: broccoli florets, lightly steamed, garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained, whole black olives. I added grape tomatoes for a festive appearance, but that wasn't in the original recipe. drizzle it all with Italian dressing and chill. I liked it and it looks Christmasy. So easy!

Good early afternoon from a warm, semi sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa...Can you believe, we're going into the high 60s today and 70 tomorrow....Not sure what Mother Nature is up to but I certainly do approve...But, sorry about the nasty weather out west...Kathy said, she didn't move west to be cold but they are happy about every snow flake that happens to fall their way....
Mary, James Patterson is quite a guy but he's keeping me up....And my sister's name is Murphy and you would love her.....She tried to get me out of the house again today but I stood firm, figured I'd better stay home and out of trouble....But, who knows what might happen next week....
Today is ugly day, bit time....And of course laundry, that I think the neighbors kind of snuck in...AND I want to sew, sew, sew...When in doubt, make fleece throws and I have 4 of them going now....I'm making the ones where you clip around the blocks and hopefully, all my clipping will get done, lol
Our dinner is in the crock pot...I found some pork chops in the freezer, threw in a can of sauerkraut and I'm sure I can find some hot dogs to add to the mix..Might even make some mashed potatoes....Jim will be happy, happy, happy......
Happy eating.................

We are having ribs tonight! I managed to get some at the meat market today... just need to warm them and bake potatoes and make salads. YUM!!! I've been checking at the market the last three weeks and finally scored them.
Mom was doing much better today. Her cousin's widower called her from CA today while I was there, and she had a nice visit with him. He and Cathy used to stop in often and visit Mom as they criss-crossed the country in their RV.
Our pretty weather is probably going to leave us in a few hours. Storms are predicted. We are still almost 70 degrees, but it's overcast and "feels" stormy. Hang on--it might be a wild ride here later. Mary--guess you know all about that! Glad you are safe!!!
Jana--good to hear you are better; sorry about your DH getting it, too.
Irish--I got tickled reading about your going to bed with James Patterson. He's certainly more engaging than Charley Horse, Ben Gay or Arthur Itis. I haven't read him in quite some time, but they are real page turners as I recall.
Becca--Mom used to make little aprons for my niece's baby/todler (age progression)'s nursery and preschool classes. They were so little and cute!!! Have fun!
Enjoy!

Well I'm running extremely late. We've been doing Mom and Dads Christmas shopping for them today and lucky crazy me now gets to wrap it all too!
We went from 76* yesterday to a very cold high of 40 with a wind chill factor of brrrrrrr, snow on the mountains in front of our house and cold rain!
We're having leftovers tonight so I'm good with that part
