SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Dec 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 06, 2015 1:37 am

Good morning!

It's a rainy day here - again. Going to be like this all week, except for those times when it's worse. Good sewing weather!

VEL - you are super woman if you can get your man to believe that working in the kitchen is a 'promotion'! lol! It is, of course, but most men would never believe it!

TINA - I hope you get some good rest sometime. Maybe over Christmas break . . . Your tamales sound delish!

BECCA - your luncheon sounds like a lot of fun!

IZZY - that's what we're here for - supper ideas! Glad to be of service!

Supper here? Hmmm..... let me think . . . . maybe homemade pizza? Or burgers again? Or spaghetti? Or pesto pasta? DH will decide when he gets up and I'll make it happen. No leftovers in the fridge to work with, so it will be all new food. Maybe sweet and sour meatballs over rice . . .

I hope you have a better time with this decision than I am!

Good morning from south Louisiana, The whole family is battling terrible colds. The weather is bouncing from very warm to chilly and back again. It's hard to know how to dress in the mornings. I am sending prayers to all in need. I have picked up my crochet needle again. New baby neice due in March. She will get the works! First baby girl in the family for 15 years! Too many stinky (but cute) boys around. LOL Hugs for all, Abita
P.S. Grilled porkloin and all the sides for supper.

Good morning,

Mary - send you rain that turns to my snow just a little further to the south. It seems to miss me and we do need the snow. Enjoy your game!

Albita - I do know how it is for only boys, we went 34 years without a little girl, now we have three, but the next one in February is back to the boys! They are stinking cute!

Still a little soup here, so I may get out of cooking one morecday, we'll see.

Enjoy!
Jana

DH has decreed that it shall be spaghetti at our house. And I finally got a picture posted of Warren's quilt. Photobucket was being a pain in the patootie today!

Abita - congrats on the new baby in your family.

Jana - We're sending you all the raw material we can for you to make snow!

Becca - glad you had a nice luncheon yesterday. Mine turned out to be a bust. Oh well. At least the food was good!

Finally making it here. I've been busy LOL vacuuming, mopping and dusting and spot cleaning messes from a little boys sippy cup that isn't supposed to leak. We made the tamales last night and they are delicious! :-) We're very happy with them! Best we've ever eaten! We might have them for supper LOL

Abita--congratulations!!! Can't wait to see what all you make!!!

Tonight was an impromptu weiner roast. DH was tending a fire cleaning up some brush and wanted to know if I wanted to go check it out with him. Got there and was standing around and had an epiphany... went back to the house and got franks. DH threaded them on the pitchfork and roasted them. We returned to the house for dinner.

P.S. Talk about guys working in the kitchen... DH put a plate in the dishwasher the other evening... first time he had ever done it, and he is 70 years old!!! (Probably the last time he will do it, too.);

Here's where I got my tamale recipe from, I made it my own by the way I make my red chili, I just use dried red chili pods boiled for 20 minutes, then put half of them in the blender with half soup ladle of the water you boiled them in and after that's all blended pour into a strainer over a pot and shake or tap till all the liquid is out, throw the dried stuff away, repeat with the other half, then add 2-3 tablespoons of chicken bouillon and a little garlic powder. For the masa, for pork use your pork broth, chicken use your chicken broth, beef use your beef broth :-)
