SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Nov 23rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 23, 2015 3:12 am

Good Morning!

Today is my 3/4 birthday! Tomorrow is my older sister's REAL birthday. CELEBRATE!!

Well, I'm not sure what QIAD was doing over the weekend, but I got a lot of yardwork and sewing done with them being down! lol!

IRISH & TINA, how are you girls feeling now?

JANA - I'd like to say 'sorry 'bout that', but I would be fibbing a little bit. I hope your 'Niners win their next game.

BECCA - there's wild and varying weather across the country. How is it in your neck of the woods? Your Panthers are beating up the rest of the league!

CHICKIE - is any of that heartland snow hitting you?

We've been pouring on the coal and cleaning up the yard after our last windstorm. Also, all the leaves are down now. And the last several days have been sunny. We are so close to having it all done. We have 2-1/2 acres, but only maintain about 1 acre of yard - the rest is woods. But today brings the rain back and tomorrow, DH is having that cyst removed from his wrist. Since the cyst has a strong pulse, the doc says the artery is involved this might be tricky. One of the oh-so-many reasons DH didn't want to go with Chickie's BAM! treatment. But my older brother told us that he knew of someone who did use a big book!

I've been working on blocks for a quilt for Warren for Christmas. I have 6 blocks finished and 6 to go. Each block is different and represents things in his life.

We are having dinner with him tonite at his ass't living facility. So no cooking for me! We will be home in time to watch Dancing with the Stars - and isn't this the season finale tonite?

So, all y'all - whatcha got cookin' in YOUR kitchen?

Good afternoon from a very sunny but cold, SW. Pa...Yep, I'm back, hopefully to stay....
1st, I want to thank you all for the many, many good wishes, prayers and all the cyber chicken soup...What would I do without you all, you are my family.....
And a very special thanks to Mary for, as she called it, "gathering up my homework" and sending it home to me...She kept me well informed along with sending much love....

But, I'm up and at em...Thought I'd better get dressed this morning because I wasn't sure if this was Mr. Schwan day or not...It's one thing to have the doctor pop in and see you in faded, Christmas flannel Pjs but to have Mr. Schwan see that, poor fellow would have been scarred for life....Even dressed, I have the shape of a 12 year old, face and hair of an old lady and the voice of a young fellow going through puberty...Talk about vision of loveliness! But, I am getting better and that's it.....

And although there hasn't been much cooking going on in this house, this might be the day.....
I had a flash back of Mary when I found a meat loaf in the freezer....Hopefully, it will make it to the oven along with some baked potatoes...Jim has had to rely on store bought cookies but baking is going to have to wait another day or so......

You all have a great day...............
Happy eating...................

Mary, you guys sure have been busy beavers!
Becca, hope they find the cause, those can cause a person to go bonkers real quick.
Irish, I'm so glad you're feeling better! I get the giggles out of your stories about the Schwan's man and UPS guy :-) keep them coming, too cute!
Jazmyne is staying the night, I'm making pork chops, baked potatoes and a veggie.

Good afternoon,

Been hibernating in the Batt Cave and I got the diaper bag finished. Darn thread decided that it didn't want to play nice with my bobbin thread. I can understand as I was sewing through 8 layers of fleece and that's not counting the cotton in between. But I finally got it done and now tonight I will make the binky bag to hang on the outside handle..

Dinner, simple - pork chops, stuffing, pears and cream, otherwise known in the rest of the world as cottage cheese.

Tomorrow I gather the ingredients for all the pies.

Irish - so glad to have you back. My UPS or FEDEX guys, doorbell ditch my packages and by the time I get to the door they aare long gone.

Mary - it was a good game - the hot shot quarterback of the 9ers is on the IR list and won't play the rest of the year. Maybe he will go else where.

Tina - leaves are long gone hrre, just the white stuff is falling - starting Wednesday.

Becca - oh, so sorry that infection is still here - hope they finally find a cure that works.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good evening! We had chicken... still have some left. I brought chicken back with me Friday evening, and on Saturday evening we met friends at what turned out to be another chicken joint, so leftovers came home. I love not having to cook!

Mary--no stormy weather here! Saturday was chilly and blustery, but Sunday was warmer, and today was in the low 50s. The dogs and I walked down to see Ava, and it was pleasant in the sunshine.

It's nice to be up again here!
