SUPPER CLUB - Friday Eve! Nov. 5th
Good morning!
They say we are in for rain again today. We've had two days off and it's been nice to have sunshine streaming through my sewing room window. But rain is good, too.
TINA - New Mexico's 'nickname' is The Land of Enchantment and WA's is The Evergreen State. I think CA's is the Golden Bear State, PA the Keystone State, and everyone knows that Kansas is the Blow Away State, Right? ;o) So what did Holly want you to do yesterday?
IRISH - what a day you had! but so much fun! That's like when my sisters and I, and sometimes one or all of our girls get together! Exhausted at the end of the day, but happy!
BECCA - What is your state's nickname? We do get a lot of rain - on the western side of the Cascade Mountains. But this summer has been unusually dry - a record-setting season for us. But that video was correct - when we get days of hard rain, the rivers overflow their banks and the salmon go on a swim-about. Bummer for them though, then the waters recede. My son used to live near the Cedar River in Renton and often had salmon swimming up to his front door. That land has since been designated 'wetlands' and he had to move. Good call!!
CHICKIE - you are off to your LQS today if I have my calendar on straight! Have fun and think of me while you are there! Four rooms of inspriation!
A few months ago I bought a quilt pattern of vintage travel trailers. It's all applique and is so cute! So yesterday, I had a free afternoon and decided to take one of those 12"x15" blocks for a trial run. SO CUTE! Now I can't wait to do more of them. there are only 6 different ones, but by swapping out the fabrics, I could make more blocks if I wanted.
Our pizza last night was great! It was loaded so two pieces were more than ample. That left more than half of it for tonite - unless DH gets into it for lunch. In that case, we'll be having pasta. instead.
What sounds tasty to you all tonite?

Good morning,
Only 25 hours until the final move! The cats will be very happy to be separated. One of them has taken to wetting on stuff of Sarah's in the basement.
We have been eating. Pork chops last night with roasted asparagus. Tonight is unknown, but we had some extra meat, so we may do some chinese, I have pot stickers too.
Mary - California is known just as the Golden State. Utah is the Beehive State.
Tina - I saw those glasses done on Pinterest too. Fun!
Enjoy!

Hello to all.Starting to rain lightly so guess we will get more before the temps change to cooler.
Maryz We are the Tar Heel State,GA Peach state,SC, Palmetto state,FL Sunshine state,& Tennessee The volunteer State.
I thought that was neat seeing the fish swim across but not to see them die.Nature has its own ways.
Jana I know everyone will be so happy to be in their own space.Nothing like a new Home.Love the fresh smell.
After a morning of shopping I do not want to do anything .Especially when I look outside & it looks gloomy. But cooking must go on.Burgers, Cole slaw, chips,& apple fritters for DH.For me a big salad.......Becca

Oh I see Mary
I thought it was something else LOL I'm just gullible hehehe Holly has me making wine glasses into Santa, Reindeer, Snowman on a penguin
it's a slow process because of all the painting and waiting for it to dry. But while it dries I consider that sewing time LOL We're also doing something with snow in it, maybe like a center piece?
I made enchiladas last night, Frankie loved them! I hadn't made them for quite awhile. I'm thinking chicken for tonight, maybe chicken strips and salad

Good morning from a very sunny, warm, just purrrfect, SW. Pa...AND we are known as the Keystone State.....
Mary, you do find the best quilt patterns, hopefully, you'll show us pictures when you're done...You know when I think of Washington, I too think of rain and very lush, green and lots of pine trees...I'm really going to have to visit out that way, just to see if my vision is right......
Jana, I'm sure the cats will be happy to be back to normal...Boy, that's one thing, don't interrupt a cat's life....I did have to chuckle when I read about your dinner tonight...We had never had pot stickers until we visited with Kathy and I loved, loved them...Later, Jim said, Kathy is really starting to cook strange...She has gotten very creative and is a terrific cook....
Becca, next to Florida, I love N.Carolina.. It seems quite a few northern people retire to NC because of their weather and of course the people....But, you know, a little gloom has to happen every once in awhile, that's when you're supposed to rest.....
With our warm and sunshine, no resting here...Yesterday, I did all the "winter" bedroom curtains and quilts and today is winterizing (hate that word)....But, it's done and hopefully winter won't be here for a long time, or maybe forget about it this year....Kathy was telling me, they have snow and everyone is excited because of the water situation but she said, being in a hot tub with snow/sleet coming down on you isn't fun....
Last night's dinner changed to ham and scalloped potatoes, so guess who's having left overs tonight....I might even sneak a couple apple dumplings into the menu........
Happy eating...............

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday Eve! Nov. 5th
Friday eve… ha, ha, ha!!! I had to check my date! Just came back from the LQS—I knew it was my THURSDAY BOM pick up, but the “Friday eve” still made me question…
Seattle is the Emerald City—gotta have rain to keep that designation, too! I think we are just known as the Sunflower State here or the Flyover State. Our winds can be pretty amazing…
Irish—what a wild and crazy day you ladies had yesterday!!! Wish I were in the back seat with you! What FUN!!!
The dogs all went with me to the LQS. I left the windows down about 4” for them. It was overcast and only about 68 degrees, but make them comfortable, right? Well, about the time I walked in, my phone did a weather alert and the skies opened! I $tayed in$ide and $hopped while it rained. Of course, when I got back to the truck, the seats were soaking, and the dogs were HAPPY to see me. We arrived home after driving in rain, and DH said he almost called me to come home earlier. Of course, if I had… the tornado warnings were between the LQS and home, and I would have been right in the middle of them. It cost DH a little more to have me safe and shopping. That was our adventure today!
Mary—there was LOTS of inspiration!!! I’ve seen that pattern, and it’s so cute!!! Have fun!!! I think there would be no end of blocks you could make with your creativity!!!
Irish—I had neighbors in Missouri who were in their hot tub in ALL weather. They called it invigorating. I wasn’t convinced.
Carol—it was good to see you take a break from your quilt!
Tina—your project is really cute! I enjoyed visiting with you today.
Becca—turn on your brightest lights over your sewing machine and enjoy the gloom outside!
Jana—When we lived with DD and DSIL while our house was being built, I had 2 cats and a dog, and DD had 2 cats in a smallish house. The first thing Cuddles (her tuxedo cat) did was take a BIG leak in one of my tennis shoes! We eventually made up, but he didn’t get to come in our bedroom after that incident. The cats are amazingly territorial (even neutered).
Mom really enjoyed hearing about my friends and all your birthday wishes for her! Thank you!!! I told her they covered coast to coast and lots of spots in between. She loved seeing your Dog on My Quilt, Mary!
Dinner here will be Must Goes. I need a good clean-out-the-fridge night of pot luck… soup, chicken casserole… it will be whatever DH wants, DH gets—as long as it’s in the fridge!
Enjoy!
