SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Oct 21st
Good Morning!
Ten days to Halloween and I still haven't bought candy. We had one trick-or-treater 29 years ago - the next door neighbor. But she doesn't come anymore. This hasn't stopped us from buying plenty of candy every year though! Just in case . . . you know? And guess who eats it all.
Today, if it's nice, I think I'll plant more tulips. and maybe dig more iris. Ugh. But I do love the flowers! I have the trailer all emptied, and the laundry all caught up. So it's the yard or the sewing room, depending on weather.
AS for supper - we have just enough chicken casserole left for tonite. My DH is so easy to feed. But if we just can't face a third day of it, then I have a little meatloaf in the freezer and potatoes to boil. Add some green beans and we could call that supper. So I have a Plan B.
What's the Plan at your house?

Mary, I need to thin my Iris is spots and move them to other places that aren't so full
) I love Iris, here they stay green pretty much all year.....I have yet to have them die off for the Winter since I started growing them a few years ago, makes my backyard nicer
) I can't grow tulips at all though and Sue told me why, said it doesn't get cold enough in the Winter and it's too hot in the Summer so I'm not going to try those anymore. I have 1 more flower bed I'd like Frankie to build and then that'll be it for the backyard
) LOL so I say now ;o) But you should see my strawberry plants, they've really been taking off in the cooler weather so hopefully come Spring they will be good to grow fruit next year
)
I have to go to town for dog food today so will get a few things for us too. I might make chile soup for supper.

I have bought candy, and it’s hidden… from me!!! We have a few ToTs… never know how many. I will make chocolate chip cookies and probably caramel corn to go with some candy. (More of everything for me later!!!) I will have a special treat bag for my great grand dog. She is going to have a dinosaur costume and will be coming to see “grandma” and her pals. I am making my dogs scarves. I did one for Ava too, to wear before Halloween.
Tina—we hope to have good strawberries next year, too! DH transplanted them to a big stock tank that had a leak and didn’t hold water, but it holds dirt and manure! The plants seem to love it!
Too early for supper plans… I have to go to town today… new driver’s license and to visit Mom. I wish I could substitute a DL photo from my younger, (much) thinner days…

Good afternoon from a gorgeous, warm, summery, SW. Pa....My kind of day and was so enjoying it until the nice young Walmart check out fellow told me it's to turn cold...Talk about bursting my bubble, lol....
Mary, you've accomplished quite a bit since you've gotten home....My tulips never do well and the iris are mostly planted for the deer, lol.....But, I sure do love both.....Kathy and I had gone to a lily/iris farm when she had her house and her yard was filled, really gorgeous...When she was moving, I was going to dig up some but felt it would be a shame to disturb them...So, every once in awhile, I'll ride by the old house and check on them.....
And speaking of candy, the candy that had been bought (twice) has been eaten so I'm going to wait until the last minute and get more...We don't get more than a couple of kids, mostly the next door youngsters but I like to fill up bags and have them ready.....Jim also likes to have them ready, lol.....
But, I did my running this morning while Jim stayed home and raked the leaves, cleaned gutters with the help of a young neighbor fellow.....After Jim cracking the whip, the fellow told Jim he had to get home for a class (he's doing cyber school)...I think maybe he just didn't like working.....You know, you run into the nicest people in the pet food aisle...Another young fellow was trying to decide what his cats would eat and of course we had to talk and talk....Always gives me a good feeling when I see young people so attached to their pets, not just old fogies like me....
And on my way home, the car pulled into Subway (couldn't wait for Terry to come)....So, we had a very late lunch and not sure what we might have for dinner.....Since, it's so nice outside, I might have to fire up the grill....Baker is still on strike but we so have store bought cookies to satisfy Jim's sweet tooth......
Happy eating............

Hello everyone.Another busy town day here.Visited DGD & Sawyer & Tallulah.Sawyer wanted Papa to eat lunch with him.So we stayed.DGD insisted.Tallulah is a riot,14 months old.A real climber.
We stopped & got candy for them.Sawyer checks Papas pockets for goodies. We have had 2 tots in 34 yrs.If we bug candy Papa eats it all.
My Irish need separating too but doubt they get it.Squirrels ate all my tulip bulbs.
I will probably make eggs tonite & add bacon for DH.He ate lots of soup & grilled cheese for lunch......Becca

Good afternoon,
Just got home from our errands. Michael's bones are great - no problems what so ever - so now we are back to square one in trying to figure out his chest bine problem.
Dinner - found some ribs, so will grill them along with a potato salad.
Enjoy!
