SUPPER CLUB - Seahawk Sunday, Oct 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Oct 11, 2015 3:21 am

I can't believe October is almost half over! Our leaves are getting serious about falling now, especially after the wind we had yesterday. This morning we'll have our usual Sunday morning breakfast with my DB and SIL, then come home and watch the Seahawks hopefully win. This afternoon, depending on weather, I'll either clean/rearrange some things in my sewing room, or work in the yard. Or maybe some of both. But I know the yard work has to come first because if I go into my sewing room, I'll be there until suppertime - which leads me to SUPPER CLUB!

IRISH - my DH loves graham crackers so we buy them at Costco. I also keep canned frosting on hand to make a cracker/sandwich snack/dessert. Not much baking happens here so it's a good substitute. Sometimes, we use peanut butter instead of frosting, and sometimes we use both!

CAROL - hope you were able to stretch your 'cleaning' in the sewing room out through the heat of the day since that's where the A/C is! lol!

BECCA - I hope your festival was only postponed and not cancelled completely. Are you being affected much by all the rain and flooding? I know Kenderosa Sue cancelled their trip to SC for a wedding this week.

Supper here tonite is soup! I have leftover everything - veggies, potatoes, rice, chicken, broth. And I think we'll make toast to have with that soup. What's your plan for suppertime?

Hello everyone,Sunny beautiful day here after our rain.

Mary z We had lots of rain but SC got pounded & lots of damage done to cars ,homes ,businesses. All due to flooding. And hi winds. We were on the edge of it.
The Festival will be next Sat. So hope it is a nice day.Last year I remember it was real cold & windy. My DGS has no leaves in WA. What kind of trees do you have that she'd leaves?

Carol Do hope you get some cooler temps soon. The heat gets to me.

Irish & Maryz Those graham crackers are a stand by here for DHs dessert. He puts candy kisses layered then puts another on top.He also adds marshmallows..He has to have sweets & I bake very little as he doesn t want a whole pie or cake by himself.

Going to be stir fried chicken tenders with mashed potatoes. And I have green beans left also.Ice cream later.....happy eating to all. Becca

Good afternoon from a very sunny, gorgeous SW. Pa...Right now, I think it's chilly but I'm in the house and it's probably warmer outside, lol.....A few of our trees are starting to shed but most of them are just starting to change colors and although they say, peak color will be late, I have a feeling it's going to be worth the wait...

Hate to hear about the terrible flooding happening in the south...And then no rain in the west.......

We went to early Mass, then on to breakfast and what a great time...DGD, Jackie and her fellow came from Philadelphia and it was purrrfect....They had been to England and France and came loaded down with pictures....She brought us a ready to be framed picture of Notre Dame at le square Viviani in Paris and then a smaller picture of a church in England....Absolutely gorgeous....Last year she taught in China and wants to go back next summer along with taking a trip to South Africa...Jackie is just a itty bitty little thing and looks like she's about 12....

Not much happening in this neck of the woods this afternoon...We came home, started reading the paper and promptly feel asleep...Has to be the ink!..If my "get up and go" kicks into gear, I might walk next door...Buddy Ted's wife is having a birthday and there might be cake....

As for dinner, this might be "everyone for himself" kind of day....Not much in the left over department but no lack of cans on the shelf...Might even be able to find a hot dog or 2 hidden in the freezer and Jim would love that.....

Graham crackers is almost a staple in this house too and since I'm not a member of Costco or Sam's, I have DDIL, Cindy get them for us...One of our favorite desserts made with graham crackers is that éclair pudding stuff....That's my "take to" dish for any party.....

Happy eating................

Hello Everyone,
Guess not many feel like coming to the table today, including me! I think I want to go out tonight and if that doesn't work then it will be pasta and meatsauce with a side of salad and ice cream for dessert. The meatsauce is in the freezer so it won't be too hard. The house is about 90* both inside and outside it is too warm.

Irish - Enjoy the little bit of chill for me please!!

Maryz - I think the month is half over on the 16th! It speeds by quickly though!

Becca - Glad you did not get the brunt of the storm! Happy eating!

Carol

It's 15 till 6, and I have no idea what to make for dinner. I think maybe fajitas. There is a piece of leftover steak that will cut up nicely with some peppers and onions.

Yesterday was a busy day, and I can't even remember what I fixed for dinner last evening.

Today has been busy, too, and I'm currently processing a small batch of salsa. DH just walked in, so guess I had better get busy.
