Supper club, Sept. 29th, Tuesday......

Post by Irishgram » Tue Sep 29, 2015 7:35 am

Good afternoon from a very, very soggy, dreary, SW. Pa...We need the rain and boy are we getting it! After a couple more days of this, I'll be checking for webbed feet.....

Just had a text from our "Queen" and she's getting closer, said they have Ranier in their sights....And from her message, there will be some big time partys going on with a bunch of the family getting together....

As I said, today is a nasty weather day so not sure what all I might get into but probably won't be much...DHS, Dan and his girlfriend stopped last night to get suggestions for her Halloween costume...She wants to go as Princess Leia from Star Wars, I think that's what it is..Dan ordered his suit to match so now we have to come up with her dress...She is willing to learn to sew, which is great, and I told her I even have an extra machine she can have... She is so excited and Dan is worried we might have created a "monster"...So, today I might have to do some pattern searching.....

The latest word from the eagle nest, Ozzie has 2 broken bones, 1 in each foot, some cuts from the "spat" and could have some sort of infection...He's being taken care of at CROW, the rehab hospital in Sanabel, Florida...Poor Harriet is alone at the nest and having to defend her home from other eagles...And the drama goes on and on.....

As for dinner, I thought of soup but then thought about that "meal in a bag" that's hiding in the freezer...Chinese isn't one of Jim's favorites but I've baked banana/nut bread so he'll up with Chinese to get to the afters.....................

So, any favorites or non favorites happening in your kitchen today....

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon,

Dinner around here will be BBQ chicken and a rice pilaf. I need a run to the store for a few things, so will pick up some fresh broccoli to go with. I need some canned milk - I want a bread pudding and used up all that I had here in the house.

Got my uglies done for the week - nice that they are quick!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Irish, I’d love to share your rain! We have a 20% chance for isolated showers over the weekend. Meanwhile, I have the hose handy. I think Princess Leia would be fairly easy… maybe. I’d probably take her height double in muslin; make a tube leaving arm holes, cut a slit in the top for her head and add drapery cord ties however they look in the pictures. Maybe when you are teaching her to sew, you can have her put a few charm squares together… just sayin’…

Your meal in a bag sounds super good to me!

Jana—I love bread pudding! Dinner at your house also sounds delicious.

Becca—I’ve been to the dentist for toothaches only to find out they were impacted sinuses. It was an emergency Saturday afternoon call in for the dentist. So sorry about your gall bladder issues! Your dinner sounds yummy, too! I really like butter beans!

Last evening I made gazpacho for me and gave DH a small cup of it for his “salad”. I was surprised when he ate it… didn’t particularly like it, but he ate it. Tonight will be re-runs—steak and baked sweet potato for him and gazpacho for me. I’ll have to find something for dessert.

MaryZ—are you almost home? Have a fun visit with family!

I just decided what's for supper :-) hamburgers on the grill and zucchini. I'm going to bake zucchini bread as soon as Frankie cracks and cleans some pecans :-)
