Supper club, Sept. 25, Friday.....Yea!

Post by Irishgram » Fri Sep 25, 2015 8:13 am

Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, purrrrfect day in SW. Pa...It really is a gorgeous day, highs in the 70s......

Chickie had done such a good job setting the table yesterday I was hoping she's do it again today.....Have a feeling she's playing with her new fur baby.....

with the nice day, I really should be outside finishing the yard work and putting the furniture in the shed but, just can't do it, yet.....I did run some errands this morning...I had a bag of paper back books( 20-35) that I had read to take back to the Library and a list of some that I wanted to pick up...In the lobby of our Library, they have set up racks and racks of paper backs for anyone to take...Well, I didn't even make it inside and had another bag filled..Then I went inside and found 3 more hard backs from my list...How am I ever going to get that yard work or anything else done???? But, this will keep me off the streets and out of the bars, right......

I did some food shopping and normally when I pull in the garage, Jim comes to help unload...Well, today, I lugged a few bags up the stairs, he's sitting in his recliner and I said, "Didn't you hear me?"..He then said, you know I can't carry anything with this arm...After the nasty look I gave him, he did come down to the car and between the 2 of us, someone should have videoed, lol...Talk about Frick and Frack, he can't carry and I can't really do steps...We make a good pair.....
But, today, the Pirates are on this afternoon so we'll both be getting a rest, lol.....

I've been trying to get that stew in the crock pot for a few days and finally, early this morning, it happened...The house is smelling so darn good..I'm still on my baking strike but don't think it's going to last much longer....I picked up quite a few apples and thinking apple dumplings might taste pretty good......

So, what's going to taste good in your kitchen?

Happy eating.............

Yummy Irish, apple dumplings :-) I love them but never have made them.
Chickie, happy anniversary late, sorry I didn't make it to the table but never fear we ate LOL
I don't know what I'm making for supper yet. Frankie is putting together a Jr bed for Easton and it's still not together and it's almost 1, he started around 10 LOL we bought it at a yard sale so it's used, instructions in Spanish and a bunch of hardware is missing so he's looking through all his stuff in his shop when he hits a bump, plus Easton was helping him LOL I've got pictures LOL too funny :-)
Holly's Dr said she probably won't make it to her due date and to make sure she has a bag packed by Monday....I'll keep you posted :-)
I might be back when I figure out what's for supper :-)

Good Evening All......Chilly breeze.....lightweight sweater day today....

we had a "little" problem in the village......a burst water pipe.....phone call at 7.15am....to alert us.....luckily we always have a full kettle ready for early morning tea......so....
no shower....just a cats lick and a promise.....
so off we went into town.....shopping....lunch......library.....coffee and cake.....home by teatime.....but didn't need food....(that doesn't happen very often)water still off.....it eventually came back about 8pm.....

our power-cuts are almost a thing in the past since the electricity has been sorted......just hoping the water problem is now sorted.....
should have said we have got some water bottles in the garage....but dint know how long it was going to last......it sounds as though we live in the back of beyond.....when we are only 4 miles from town.....except for the traffic.....another story.....
so......no menu Wednesday......F..h and Chip van Thursday......and today.....Sirs birthday......so out for an All Day Breakfast....
no menu again today......my cooker will think its having a well earned rest......
IRISH.....would love it if my library took donated books.....but they will only take brand new books.....
now I am going back to my Tumblers.....I will be so glad to get at least one finished.....think for the 2nd one I will do it and a"leader and ender".......

take care and see you tomorrow......Lady Carol

did I see somewhere our Maryz is off on her travels again ?......

Hello all,
Tina Sure hope DD stays on alert.your story on bed reminded me of DH (putting a cart that goes behind mower) What a day that was.And it has never been used as he isn't able.

Irish Enjoy the game. Our Library will take any books & magazines. But I have never seen them give any away.Save me an apple dumpling.Yum

Lady Carol Hope you & Sir have a great time celebrating.Happy Birthday to him & no cooking is great.

I have cooked turnip greens I found at Market. And for DH Mac n cheese & cornbread.I cooked my chicken breast to BBQ & made sweet potato soufle for tomorrow. Our 2 DGSs & families are coming so I try to plan ahead.DH has cherry pie. Becca
