SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Sept 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Sep 21, 2015 2:54 am

Good morning!

Well, it was a bummer of a weekend as far as football went. Those Vikings beat up on our Seahawks. Even the dog went off and laid in the closet for the last quarter of the game. Oh well - on to next week. It's so much easier to be a fan when they are winning!

IRISH - you'd only be keeping "Bobbin" for a short while. I'd pick him up on my very next trip through PA - I promise! Wishing your Jim, your other Jim, and you, of course, many more good days than less-than-good. My brother with Parkinsons is also a Jim. We breakfast with them every Sunday, too. He is really struggling now.

BECCA - I'm sorry your DH isn't doing well either. Hugs from our house to yours!

TINA - holding good thoughts for your mom today. Let us know how it goes. They are up in Albq if I remember correctly.

LADY CAROL - it seems that Sir just got back from Spain with the 'boys'. Just how often do you let him out unsupervised?? But nice that you have a little trip planned for yourself, too!

JANA - I do believe it was your Stanford that beat up USC yesterday. We have to root for USC because Autumn worked for them for 4 years.

We have chix soup left for another night, but tucked it into the freezer. I've had enough of it for now. And I saw some pork chops in there, so I think chops on the grill tonite with a potato packet and cooked carrots will be the 'sides'.

So what's everyone's favorite way to fix cooked carrots? Do you go savory with herbs or sweet with brown sugar or maple syrup/flavoring?

Good morning from a rather chilly, but sunny, SW. Pa....I believe it's only going into the high 60s, low 70s today....Much too "cold" for me......

Mary, as much as I really, really want to keep Bobbin for you, don't think it's going to happen....I do have a neighbor who has just lost 3 elderly cats (but vowed no take a break from litter) if she might be interested.....And, normally, I don't cook carrots unless they're in stew but, the brown sugar or syrup would be good.....

The BIG news today! Remember me talking about the eagles, Ozzie and Harriet in Ft. Myers? This is the Ozzie that had been hurt and in rehab for months and then set free...Well, Ozzie had been missing all those months and a new younger man showed up on Harriet's nest step and started courting Harriet...Well, guess who else showed up, just yesterday and is actually fighting to reclaim his territory...Eagles mate for life but with Ozzie being hurt and gone for so long, poor Harriet had to raise their last eaglet on her own and maybe she felt he was gone....I don't have to watch the soaps, I just watch my eagles...Also waiting to hear about eagle sightings in my area....For sure I won't be getting anything done around here.....

But, I am running again today....Meeting up with gals I went to school with and my sister....My best friend's sister was my sister's best friend during school so it will be a fun lunch, as always....

As far as dinner, send that left over chix soup my way...Sure would taste good on this chilly day...I hate to say it but Jim might be eating "canned" soup and sandwich.....Maybe tomorrow I'll be cooking again....Remember me saying I would be out and about yesterday and didn't know where the car might stop? Well, my silver beauty pulled right into the Subway lot....Life is good when you drive a car like mine......

Happy eating........................

Good morning,

Mary - I thought that Green Bay beat your Seahawks last night - I watched that game. My 9ers didn't get beat - they were anililated by the Irish's Steelers. OK, there is next week.

Irish - like I said, your Steelers didn't play nice! LOL

Dinner - soup or chili - we will see.

Enjoy!

Hello everyone. A cloudy day here.Rain is expected.

Mary' z I don't usually cook carrots unless in stew or soup.We love them raw but the glazed ones sound good.

Carol I too thought like Mary.About your Sir.Seems he had a trip with guys not too long ago.But great that you have an outing planned too.Enjoy.

Irish You have that car trained.lol You are so right. My faith has brought me thru some rough patches as I know yours has too.

Tina Prayers that all goes well for Mom.

Jana & Chickie Hello to you both.

After quilting at Church I got my shots & went to Dr for UTI.So my afternoon will be laid back some.Could not take the pain anymore.

I have pulled pork for DH .Will add Mac n cheese. For me a bowl of DDs chicken soup from freezer.......Becca

Good Evening All......wet morning......sunny afternoon......and of course.....I was out in the morning.......

yes there was a trip to Spain.....back in June.....but we were both there.....together.....joined at the hip.....big....big mistake.....early June and Benidorm(Spain) are best if you are a youngster......able to drink from early morning(or whenever you can get up).....and able to cope with ear splitting music....BUT....we did enjoy the lovely hot sun....the trips out....the meals(no cooking).....and the hotel......oh yes.....and the Retail Therepy..... (found a lovely fabric shop).....the best time we found.....for this pair of old wrinklys anyway.....October or March(before Easter)

today has been a bit of shopping(grocery) a bit of washing and a large chunk of sewing time.....the Tumbler quilt is for a cousin who will be celebrating her 70th birthday soon after Christmas......but I have 3 other quilts to do and some Aran sweaters to knit for Christmas.....want to catch up on sewing during the day.....and the knitting in the evening.....does that make sense.....I hope so....if I can get my brain in the right gear that is........

todays menu.....so.....didn't get our " sunday roast" after all.....added a bit more Chicken to yesterdays left over....in white Wine Sauce.....Carrots... Runner Beans....Creamed Potatoes.....Rice Pudding for afters.......

Lady Carol....

Mom isn't bad enough for the surgery. I just don't understand.
I think we're having banned food tonight for the simple fact I can't think of anything else LOL
It's a beautiful cool, drizzling day here :-) Tina
