SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Sept 15th
Good Morning! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. We've been on the run, it seems. But we've been so enjoying our company! They were gone a big part of yesterday visiting other friends so I took that opportunity to make applesauce and can it, make some homemade chili and pop it into the crockpot, get a good start on putting my Christmas Swap quilt top together, and finally put an El's Angels Cancer comfort quilt on the frame and got it half quilted. Whew! I was beat by 5pm and crashed at 9pm.
IRISH - I'm sorry there's going to be upheaval in your son's life, but it sounds like when the dust settles and he gets his new life going, things will be better. I worry for your Nicky though. When my sister got a divorce - about 35 years ago - it was the first in this very Catholic family. She was afraid to tell our parents. Daddy's only remark was, "What took you so long?"
TINA - every day at your house is busy! How is your back doing?
JANA - what's going on your table tonite? My sister is headed to Richfield, UT today or tomorow with friends to ride the Piaute Trail for 10 days. Then she's coming here!
LADY CAROL - are you back from your Beer Swig Event with your caravan group yet? Hopefully your weather was nice!
BECCA - I know you have a busy day planned, too. Maybe it will be a Subway day . . . .
VELDA - back to your son's? I forgot just how far that is. I'm sure he and his kids appreciate your back-up support!
This is our last night with our friends so I was thinking of getting some steaks. We have yams we could bake, too, though we've had them 2 nights already. But I'll probably bake them anyway. I guess salad and corn and green beans? I have 'no sugar added' ice cream for afters. That should do it!
Have you figured out your supper plan yet?

Good morning
Mary, sounds like you really got a lot done yesterday! Pace yourself girl, pace yourself
My back hurts everyday, I just try not to complain
how does that saying go....suck it up buttercup...that's what I do most of the time or at least try....I think it's changing my personality though, hopefully I'll get my old one back though
I think banned food is going to grace our table tonight, we haven't had it for weeks, since we cleaned the freezer out. Maybe another half a baked sweet potato and salad or just salad

Good morning,
Mary - what fun for your Sis - here and then on to visit you.
Tina - I am thhinking aling the same lines with some banned food tonight.
Irish - sorry for the news in your family, but from what you have written in the past, I think Terry has been a very patient person and though it's not good, may be the very best in the long run for all.
Dinner - probably banned with rice pilaf and a salad. I would like to grill it outside, but we are having thunderstorms all day long. I am watching one roll in right now.
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Sept 15th
Good late afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa.....We started out chilly but warmed up very nicely, thank goodness....
Mary, you really do accomplish a lot in a day, makes me think I should take a nap after reading your post.....It is sad when there is a divorce but, as Jana said, Terry has had the patience of a saint and he needs to move on and maybe have some peace in his life...Nick might only be 16 but he's a very wise 16 and just some of the things he's said to me, I'm sure he knows what has and is happening but Terry is waiting to really have that talk with him....From day 1, it's more or less been a 1 parent home with Terry doing everything for the boys...I don't ever remember her taking them shopping or even attending any event that they might have been involved...She has missed so much......
Tina, sorry to hear about your back...That "hurt" always messes up the whole body....
It's been a busy last 2 days, not too productive but busy...Yesterday was Jim's day with his "slicer and dicer" and got away with just 1 big bandage....Today was lunch with the girls and that always takes at least 3 hours....
Our dinner will be a repeat of last night's meat loaf and baked potato for Jim, for me, maybe just a cup of tea.....
Happy eating.................

Irish, that's so sad that their mom has missed out on all that, divorce is the best thing then. Like you say the boys know what's going on. My DD has the same thing going on, he never does anything with any of them and she's still planning on marrying him, we see a divorce in her future, we talk and she doesn't listen so......
You all are going to laugh at me, I had to come back here because I forgot what I was having for supper LOL At least I know it's written down ;o)
