SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Aug 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Aug 27, 2015 6:45 am

Good Late Morning!

It's been busy here. A late start to the day, drove the car to the mechanic for services and new brakes, walked with my neighbor, breakfast, and talking to my sister who we're trying to convince should come visit in October. But I'm here now!

IRISH - I'm not sure I want my name to be a household word. I've heard a lot of words that are common in some households and banned in others! lol!!

CHICKIE - please tell Doyal happy birthday from Bill and me! And Bill wants to know what's up with broccoli for a birthday dinner!! Not on HIS birthday plate!!

TINA - chicken and salad sounds good to me! I'm stealing that idea for tonite!

CAROL7 - I hope you're not close to any of the fires in CA. If the wind is right, we get smoke from ours, but the fires are about 100 miles away in the mountains.

LADY CAROL - I'm stealing your idea, along with Tina's and I'm making grilled chicken, salad, with creamed potatoes and I'll think I'll toss in some peas for luck!

JANA - I love it - 'if Michael will stay out of it, we'll have xxx for dinner." So did he? Your Daddy Daughter even sounds full of fun and yum!

Well, it's out to the yard for me now before it gets hot. Then this afternoon, I guess we need to empty out our storage glory hole under our stairway (we have a split level house). We think the cats dragged in a little critter and it got away from them and crawled in there and went to heaven. Double Ick!

So, chicken out to thaw and then me out to weed!

What's on your agenda for the day?

Good afternoon from yet another Fall like, overcast, semi chilly (me wearing shoes and socks), SW. Pa....

Mary, not to worry about anyone using bad words when your name is mentioned..I've told them all so much good stuff, everyone wants to meet you..Always good to have another Irish person among us....Boy, you sure have a busy day planned....Had me laughing about cleaning out the glory hole...I was attempting to find different curtains for the bedroom and ended up cleaning out our cubby hole...Thank goodness I found no unwanted critters, just a very upset fur baby because she wanted to nap in private....

I have been wondering about all you "western" gals and those nasty fires...I can't imagine anything so terrible....

My agenda.....I always have good intentions but some how, oh well, you know what they say about those good intentions.....But, I did pull out some cat swap fabric and have it in the washer...In all the totes of cross stitch stuff, there were also at least 30 fat quarters and some will be used for cats.....
Other than that, I'm going to do some sewing and I'm finally baking.....
For dinner, I'm thinking, chicken ala king, not sure what else but there will be apple pie for afters....Trying real hard to fatten up Jim but it's not working, lol......

Happy eating................

Good Evening All......weather is cooling....a little breezy....a little sun.....a little rain.....might have guessed.....coming up to a Bank Holiday weekend......so could be in for a lot of the latter....

been busy today cutting and sewing 4 patches.....nothing special in mind......just seemed like a good idea to try and get the scraps down a bit....somehow they seem to multiply over night.....well.....it was either doing the patches or stringing and freezing Runner Beans......and I did a load yesterday.....and will be doing some again tomorrow.....the Beans I mean.....this year the garden has been absolutely overloading with Gooseberries....Tomatoes...Beetroot ....Onions....we have had such good crops with whatever was planted this year.....and a fair amount has been passed on to the neighbours......strangely..... last year we picked only ONE runner bean....(made sure that one was cooked and served to Sir)......had a chuckle over that.....

todays menu.....on Thursdays.....the last few weeks.....I haven't had to cook.....we now have a F..h and Chip van coming around the village.....4 stops through the village and queues at all of them....so my kitchen gets a rest on Thursdays.......

take care and see you tomorrow.......

Oh gosh Mary, night before last Rosie brought in a dead one and laid it by me on the couch! I was freaking out! It's a good thing I keep a cover on my couch.....yuck-o!!!! I would've probably had a heart attack if it had of been alive!
Irish, yummy afters at your house! Well actually yummy everything :-)

I've got kielbasa thawing in the fridge, I'll do potatoes for Frankie and we'll have salad :-)

Good afternoon!

Nope, Michael didn't stay out of it. So we pieced with what was in the refrig.

I have no idea for dinner tonight - I have tons for most anything - my simple go to is tacos.

My kitty, Perry, would just invite the critter in for a visit. He has gotten old and forgot what a cat is supposed to do.

We have been blessed not to have any major fires here in Utah this year. We really dodged a bullet so far. The smoke drifted in from the fires in California, but finally left. It stayed around for about 2 weeks or so. Daniel has been home holding the fort down by where he lives. He regular job is keeping him busy - Kari, his girl is glad for that.

Enjoy,
Jana

Oh what a catch 22 - if I had money equal to the dirt, then I would have a maid, she'd clean and I would be poor again! LOL

Maryz - No, we are not near any fires. We usually have an ocean breeze, so unless there are Santa Ana conditions we do not get smoke. We are truly blessed and know it. Only a couple of weeks of too warm of weather each year and we will be through.

Dinner tonight was a sauce from the freezer over rice.
