SUPPER CLUB Monday August 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Aug 03, 2015 4:16 am

Good morning! I have a little bit of Internet here, and very little battery on my phone. Wanted to check in and make sure everyone is eating right. We are in Soldotna Alaska for three days. Tomorrow will move further south on the Kenai Peninsula for a few days and then make the turn starting for home. Still lots to do and see, but will be headed in Homeword direction. Probably be there in three weeks. Looking forward to seeing my house again

Last night our traveling companions made chicken cacciatore for us and it was awesome. We are told there's leftovers for tonight though I am afraid they are left over from a meal they had four days ago that didn't look as yummy. We may have to grill hamburgers. Lol

Miss you all and hope the food is good at your house!

From Louisiana to Alaska, I hope you are enjoying the cool temps. We're having homemade chicken pot pie tonight and brownies and ice cream for after. Take plenty of pictures. Prayers to all, Abita

Good early afternoon from a gorgeous, warm, sunny, purrrrfect day in SW. Pa....Do you get an idea of how nice it is in my area???

Mary, so happy to see you at the table...It sounds like your trip is wonderful...Always so much to see and do....How are the fur kids doing?
We just have 1 extra fur baby visiting...Terry brought, Casey, a black lab, who has to be the gentlest, fat, fur baby ever...She loves to sit on Nick's lap or be held like a baby, which isn't the easiest thing to do...Nick has a way with animals...Baby Girl waits at his door in the morning and calls for him when she can't see him...She's going to really miss him when he leaves.....

Becca, just having the "boys" here is fun...Terry is still playing with his car but hopefully, he'll be done today...They want to go to the mountains and get some serious bike riding in...

This morning, we went to a Mass for Chris, visited with Kathy and even visited with an old girl friend of Jim's...She's visiting from Boston and was at Mass...Might sound strange, but I told Jim he should give her and call and take her to lunch/dinner.....

We're anxiously waiting for Mr. Schwan, kids want pizza and ice cream sandwiches...I just want a peek, lol......

Nick was our chef last night, made special burgers on the grill, with fresh corn and home made French fries...Oh so good!

As for tonight's dinner, I might be making Jana's ravioli casserole...I have a bundt cake in the oven for afters..... But, if someone wants to do Chinese, I'll be 1st one in the car.....

Happy eating.................

You all are having good food :-) I'd pass on the 4 day old leftovers though and Irish I'd be in the car that quick too :-) Becca it's been so hot here that it's just really hard to get in any cooking mood but grapes and salad sounds refreshing :-) Cracker Barrel is one of my favorites!
I think fish will be on our side of the table tonight and zucchini and maybe salad. Not sure how I'm doing the zucchini yet though.

DH didn't catch any pond fruit, so he got a re-run on the steak from last night and a baked potato. I made a leek and celery soup for me, and we had sourdough bread. Oh... and fresh watermelon and cantaloupes from the garden. They are all coming on at once! I butchered a huge watermelon and two cantaloupes and brought them in... so sweet!!! I took a watermelon and 2 cantaloupes to town for my sister and BIL to fix and share with Mom. They were at Mom's so got to visit all of them for a bit. I've texted family and told them to come over and get melons. We were warm today, but the humidity seemed to be lower... it was almost pleasant... if you can call 94 degrees pleasant.

Sorry I'm late to the table as usual!
