SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, July 21

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jul 21, 2015 4:34 am

Hello from Whitehorse, Yukon! We are here, with sketchy internet, because we ran into my brother and his family just as their motorhome broke down. We are staying here with them until it gets fixed. Five days now, and hoping today will be the day. No one can find the cause of the problems. They aren't in a position to understand the mechanics or to speak up for themselves so Bill is sort of acting as the 'interpreter' or maybe an advocate. so we live here now.

Yesterday was Bill's birthday. He spent it at the garage. But we did go out to a nice lunch at the Burnt Toast Cafe. Contrary to its name, it was really good food. We had chicken alfredo for his birthday supper. Tonite will probably be the leftovers from that, adding a bit more noodles.

I did visit a quilt shop here. All their fabric was $20/yd which translates to about $16/yd, U.S. currency. Needless to say, I didn't buy any. But it was all so pretty!

Miss you all.
Bon Appetit`!

Hi, Mary! So sorry about all the RV troubles for your DB and family! I know it messed up your vacation, but I'm sure you were glad to be able to be there for them and and know they were more than grateful you were there!!! A belated HB to Bill!!! He's a good one!!!

Fabric sure is pricey there!!! Too bad they didn't do the RbR. I'm having fun with mine. Izzy posted my design wall so far. My SIL is mailing me two from Wichita. I'll get two more from DD from her vacation in St. Louis area.

I never made it here to the table yesterday, but it doesn't mean we didn't eat. It was leftovers from the day before with the addition of sliced peaches for dessert. Tonight... hummmm... I need to think about it some more.

We are cooler today with some rain--just in time to water the watermelons!!! YUM!!! Can't wait for them to ripen... grow, babies, grow!!!

Good early afternoon from sunny, very pleasant, SW. Pa...Our day is darn right purrrrfect!

Mary, so glad to hear from you but sorry about all those problems...But, as Chickie, said, I can imagine how appreciative your DB and family are to have you with them...AND many, many Happy Birthday wishes for Bill....Yikes, that is expensive for fabric...And, I have a few people on the look out for the Row by Row patterns, we'll see what they come up with...

Chickie, you know you get me in trouble every time you mention watermelon.....I'll be shopping later and probably have to pick up one.....

This morning Jim and I went to a Thrift store and he made out like a bandit...I had a long list of errands but after he shopped, Jim wanted to come home...So, now I'm off to take care of that list....Need to go to the Library and a friend asked me if I was interested in helping a couple hours a week so I might look into that...

Oh, and Mr. Schwan was here and in his shorts...He also must have spent the weekend outside and boy what a tan....He'll be back in 2 weeks............

And as far as dinner, I have nothing planned because, I'm not sure where the car will stop....But, if we come straight home, being so nice, it has to be something on the grill.....And of course, ice cream sandwiches for afters.......

Happy eating................

We are having salads with left over grilled Chicken breast. Sprinkles of cheese and bacon bits.

Then, because we are leaving tomorrow to go back by our son to attend a funeral. Don't want to leave my fresh frozen "mac n cheese"(for Mary's benefit) LOL. We are going to fry up the fillets and have them with our salads.

We hope to catch more mac n cheese when we can get back on the water again.

I have been working on my row by row. Making a wall hanging from my panel. It is turning out really cute. I will be posting a picture when I finish.

Hugs to everyone. Eat well!

Hi everybody, We went to visit family in central Louisiana over the weekend. It hit 104° not counting humidity. Boy that was hot! Tonight we are home and had pulled pork sandwiches from the croc pot. I hope you have a nice breeze and cold drink. Prayers to all, Abita
