Supper Club, July 17th, Friday, yooHoo
Good morning from, so far over cast, but I know the sun is up there somewhere.....Supposed to be summer like but I guess we have to wait and see.....
Jim decided to take the lawn mower to the doctor this morning and that meant, helping to put it in the trunk...Well, this was another Frick and Frack moment or 2...Had it in the car and then because the handle stuck up, couldn't back the car out of the garage..So, take it out, take the car outside and do it all over again...Someone could be making big money filming the 2 of us......Jim and a friend are taking the mower so that might be an all day thing.....For me, I'm going out to lunch and that might be an all day thing, also....Now you all have to admit, we sure do lead an exciting life, lol.....
But, I do plan on cleaning the bedrooms before I go, so I feel I've accomplished something.....
As for dinner, we all know, when I go to lunch, Jim suffers....But, we still do have a freezer full of goodies and he won't suffer too long.....
So what exciting things are you doing today (bet it's better than mine)? And what will you find to put on your table?
Happy eating.................

Good Morning from Whitehorse, Yukon! We have internet again for a few days! I'm so excited!
IRISH - I wish I'd been a bird in a tree watching you and Jim do your Mower Dance! I promise I wouldn't have laughed!
TINA - I did see that your mom got transferred to a rehab facility to get strong enough for surgery. how is that going? and how are you doing? I know jury duty is taking up a lot of your time.
My cat, Foxy, is VERY interested in the lower cabinets in the trailer kitchen. We figure we must have picked up a stow-away somewhere along the line. We may have to remove the bottom drawer to give him access and let him do his cat thing.
We ran into my brother here in Whitehorse last night! They are on their way home from Alaska while we are still traveling north. They had a breakdown and had to be towed 60 miles into town. So our plan change is that we remain with them until they get their repairs made. It's the Code of Siblinghood. Our friends will continue on with the trip as planned and we will join them later if necessary.
Yesterday, my mom's 101st birthday, we saw 2 bears along the road in northern B.C. in the space of one hour I think she sent them to me! In that hour, we also saw only 2 other vehicles on the road. How cool is that? We are remote!!
Our friends are making supper for us tonite - spaghetti and meatballs! Though we'll see how this day plays out - the weather is turning stormy, too. Hard to entertain inside RV's. We usually sit outside at picnic tables.
You all have a wonderful supper tonite - whatever it may be! I'm feeling magnaminous, so for the remainder of my trip, you are all free to eat that dreaded F-word to your heart's content. The ban is lifted until the end of August. (((((Shudder))))

WHAT!The ban has been lifted!!!!!OMG, something must be seriously wrong with you.
What could it be?????Did those bears scare the heck out of you that you lost your mind. Girls, eat your heart out of the seafood, because when she comes home we will all suffer for it. Let's hope she doesn't ban something else like Desert!!! Lol
Stay safe Mary and hope your trip is wonderful.

Oh, Mary! You make me so hap-hap-hapeeeee!!! YUM!!! I think the bears have your brain addled. That is definitely remote!!! So sorry for all the travel difficulty for your DB and DSIL and family. You are good to remain with them and make sure they are safe.
Carole--I saw where you got started on the LUB blocks. I hope to see mine maybe tomorrow...
Irish--I love your Frick & Frack moments. We have some of the same ones here! One of DH's moments was when he tried to drive his new tractor with the roll bar into the garage and crumpled the bottom of the door when it didn't clear... OOps!!! So glad your F&F didn't ruin your car trunk lid or anything else and just gave you a good laugh for the day. Think what we can do here with all the farm vehicles/equipment...
Dinner... There is one enchilada, some rice and beans and some corn... I found a piece of steak that will make some fajitas to finish out the protein. DH isn't crazy about Mexican food, but... I am the cook!!! He's good to eat what's in front of him, and I do like Mexican food!!! I'll add salad and some sliced tomatoes... dare I call it Fajita Friday?

Good morning,
Irish - there are more Frick and Frack moments around here than I care to admit!
Mary - so good to see you. Sorry for DB's troubles, but with you and Bill there, things will be done right! Thank you for the ban reprieve! I so love banned food?
Reminds me of a saying from my high school days, "everything I like is either illegal, immoral or fattening".
Dinner - banned PNW treat with rice pilaf and for a after, a ice cream drumstick!
Enjoy,
Jana
By the way, does the site look different? Missing the normal look of the threads? Or is it just me?

Wow, Mary has lifted the ban!!
Irish love your F & F stories!
Tonight will be leftover Chicken Picatta, mashed potatoes, vegetable and a salad.
I have been making cookies this week or rather cookie dough. I mix up the cookie dough, scoop it into cookies on a parchment lined tray, then cover and freeze. When all is frozen, I place in marked plastic bag. I have plenty of cookies for afters that way!! I also don't have all the cookies baked at the same time and it keeps us from overindulging.

I knew I came back at the right time! lol! I had my "once every 6 months" fish dinner! We ate at Mama's tonight...and probably tomorrow night too, since Spiro just got in some 12 oz. T-bone steaks that he says look good.
It's turned really hot and humid this weekend...UGH. I knew that we would pay for the beautiful weather we had the past two days...
I've missed alot on here since I havent been on, hope I get caught up! Missed you all!!!!

Sending get well wishes to the lawn mower. I am still laughing. Hope the stay in the Lawn Mower Hospital was short. You funny lady.
QUILTER7: What is chicken picatta?
BECCA: We have had a very cool July. Foggy for several mornings , today same, but sun out now in all its glory.
AUNTJANA: Here I go again - what is PNW? Have been off for a week and will let you know later how I spend my 73 rd birthday, do not tell ANYONE my age--ha. Had a great birthday.
FARMCHICK: Well, I am really showing my ignorance today, what are LUB blocks. I really do need to get out of my c=cave. HE-he
CAROLE: If dessert is banned, let me know and you can come over to my house.
PURRFECT LADY| I am sew envious of you being the Yukon. Have always wanted to venture up that way. You have a safe trip home.
Helen PS:
I do not eat fish anymore since the nuclear disaster in Japan, JoAnnQuilts. I have heard from people in CA. the radio active material has shown up in fish. Know it probably isn't much, but with CFIDS, I take no chances--unless it is chocolate cake.
