SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jun 29, 2015 3:24 am

Good Morning!

Another warm day here. Had a few drops of rain and some L&T yesterday which was a bit of excitement, weatherwise. We did enjoy our guests last night and we'll meet them again today for lunch at the local watering hole.

IRISH - you give that Jim of yours a big hug and kiss from me! Hope you see some sunshine soon. We saw a thing on the national news a few days ago about a fella bitten by a shark in NC. Was that your friend's DGS?

LADY CAROL - I like your term, "Yakky". In my world that would mean talkative, but I get your meaning! Hope Sir is improves soon. We all know who does the real suffering when our men go down!

BECCA - you have the sweetest family!

JANA - what's in your Cafe Rio salads? they sound delish! so does the ice cream bar!

TINA - how are you feeling, girl? Are you having a 'whooping' good time yet?

Tonite's supper will be light as we're going to lunch today. Though, whatever we get, DH and I will probably split. Leftovers in the fridge include potato salad, beans, watermelon, and apple pie. So no one will go hungry here.

Bon appetit`!

Hi Mary and all the others coming to the table.

We had burgers last night, tonight we are eating out for pizza. Our Monical's (pizza chain restaurant) has a Monday night special.

Today, is grocery day for us. Still rainy here and weatherman predicts rain in every one of the next 7 days. I wonder if it will end up turing dry and we will be then begging for a drop.

Hope to do a little bit of sewing today.

Enjoy reading all the posts. I will BBL to check in on all the menu ideas.

Hugs
Vel

Good morning,

Mary - those salads are yummy - they have lettuce, tomatoes green onions, cheese, black beans, cilanto lime rice, and you chouce of sweet pulled pork or chicken. The meat is baked slow, pulled and then a sauce of brown sugar, coke, garlic, and taco sauce is added, simmered for about a hour and served warm on the salads. I also make a tomatillo ranch salad dressing. Add tomatillos to a food processor, chop fine, add finely chopped cilantro and ranch dressing. I make scratch Hidden Valley. You cn google Cafe Rio Salads and come up with the exact recipes. They are a huge thing here in Utah. We serve ours in crunchy tortilla bowls.

Dinner - no surprise -leftovers!

Enjoy!
Jana

Good late morning from warm, SUNNY, SW. Pa...Yep, we are having sun, you know that big round, yellow/orange thingie up in the sky...And boy am I enjoying every minute....

Mary, sounds like you are feeling better and nice to hear you had a good visit with your friends....Yes, that was my friend's DGS that encountered the shark in N.C. Haven't heard today how he's doing..He had just taken the test to get into the Coast Guard....
The other day, my sister had told me a bunch of her family were going to the beach and I called her last night to ask if they had all made it home with all their dangling parts...I remember the year "Jaws" came out, we were in Virginia Beach and Kathy and Terry went to the movies to sea it, silly kids.....

Jana, that salad does sound delish but sounds like too much work for me...Now if someone wanted to make it for me, that's a different story...
Maybe on my way to Tina's for the pepper dish she's making for me, I'll stop and have some of your salad...Then I'm going to Mary's and sit on her deck and have some wine....

Tina, hope you feeling better....Maybe you just needed a good rest....

Jim is out mowing the grass, again and I'll probably need to get out my little mower and give him a hand...I also need to get to the garden and do battle with the weeds..Yesterday, after yet another rain, I sprayed "Deer Be Gone" around the garden, around all my lilies and some of the other flowers and hope that keeps the critters away...Almost like locking the barn door after the horse gets out because they did eat the morning glories...But, they haven't found my beans yet, shhhh.........

Just talked to DIL in NC and Nicky will be coming up the 1st week in August but with them, you never know...Sue will be having cataract surgery on the 12th and they need to be back home...Any more I don't make real plans, just wait until they get here...But, I'll be so happy to see my boys.....

And as far as dinner, we have left over chicken, spuds, gravy and a few green beans...Sounds like a meal to me with little effort.....

Happy eating.................

I'm doing better thank you :o)
Maryz, all the whooping that was going on here was me feeling like I was the one being whooped LOL at least my ribs aren't sore like they were, it felt like they were broken or something!
Jana, your salads to sound yummy! :o)
Irish, I think it must've been that too ;o)
Vel, mmmmmmm pizza night special mmmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm, good!
We've been having leftovers for the most part but the fridge is now empty, I think that means I have to actually cook tonight, eeeee-gad man! LOL I'm thinking it'll be something from Schwans, pop it in the oven and it'll be supper :o) My eyes are getting really heavy, don't know if I should fight it or give in. Giving in I have a feeling will be the winner LOL
