SUPPER CLUB - Sun, June 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jun 28, 2015 4:27 am

Good morning!

Thank y'all for your good wishes for my ailments. I start P.T. on Tuesday and can't wait! Until then, pain pills are keeping me relatively whine-free. :o) and wine-free. ;o( Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess. At least I was finally able to sleep in the bed last night - first time in over a week. I call that progress!

IRISH - thank you for keeping everybody fed and happy! Hope your gloomy days are behind you. I'd sure like to be able to send you some of our warm. We're going to 97 by next weekend. Rare for us. No one in this part of the country has A/C in their houses. Thank goodness we have a cool basement!

JANA - today is Stu's party. cyber hugs to you as you prepare to say goodbye to him. He's a special guy!

Supper last night was burgers on the grill. And since DH thawed four burgers, I guess that's the menu for tonite as well. Works for me. We have 2 couples of friends here from Texas, but they opted to stay in an RV park 2 miles away instead of on our property. I was hoping to make them dinner one night while they are here, but I don't think that's happening. I'm half bummed about that and half relieved! Bad me!

Hope your supper is easy peasy tonite. Hey! Peas would be good with anything!

Good morning,

Sitting in church - Stu is speaking and most of all the family will be here - both sides.

Mary - glad you are getting better - be it ever so slow. Sarah has fresh shelled peas at the market. They grew them at her farm - oh so sweet. I froze several pounds. We also got fresh corn in the cob, from a farm near my Concord house - boy was it good too!

Dinner this afternoon is my Cafe Rio salads and then later a ice cream sundae bar for about70 plus people.

By next Saturday i will get a rest!

Enjoy!
Jana

We have a slight change of plan for supper now. Still hamburgers, but the 2 couples are coming. So we went to store and bought watermelon and pie & ice cream. I made some beans to pop into the toaster oven out on the deck. They are bringing potato salad. So my little bit of work is done. Hope the IBU keeps my back issues at bay while they are here!

Good Evening All......another nice and sunny day....

was meant to be a nice and uneventful day.....the sort I like.....with not too much going on....however Sir has decided he feels rather yakky and has gone back to bed.....and he does not make a very good patient.....so glad I have a lot of knitting and sewing to do.....funny....but I seem to knit so much faster when the frustrations and naughty words come upon me......

so...todays "nearly"menu should have been Roast Pork with Crackling....but that has been postponed(I think)until tomorrow.....

Mary.....relief is fine.....but.....gone is better......

Good afternoon from a very dreary, chilly, SW. Pa....Something is wrong here......Mary has high temps, my Kathy is sweltering in Reno and here we are, barely out of the 60s and dreary.....And thinking back, I have not done anything to irritate Mother Nature so who's every messing up better put a stop to it real quick!

Mary, so glad to see you at the table, sorry about the circumstances but glad you're here....And also want you to know, Jim was/is concerned...A couple of times yesterday, he'd ask if I had heard anything or how you were doing....Feel honored, I could be sick in bed and wouldn't get that much response, lol....Just hope and pray everything will be right as rain (bad choice of words here in the east)....Enjoy your company and TAKE IT EASY!

Lady Carol, sorry I hadn't wished you back...You're really been 1 busy lady and another baby...Some people have all the luck....

Becca, it does sound like you're enjoying all your company...What a blessing....

Jana, all that fresh stuff is making my mouth water...Sounds like a fun time at your house.....So far I haven't had anything out of the garden but the tomatoes are coming along...So far the deer haven't found the beans but they did munch on my morning glories I had growing on the fence around the garden....

This morning was Mass and then on the breakfast and it was delightful...The other Jim's lady actually like her breakfast, said it was the best ever! The other Jim said, write that down even called over the manager and told her...No Aldi today and now Jim is watching the Pirate game (with eyes closed).....

For dinner, I'm thinking of chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie...Since it's chilly, might as well heat up the kitchen....I made a batch of cinnamon/sticky buns yesterday and that's our after.....

Happy eating.................

Almost forgot...Walking into church this morning a very good friend of mine told me her DGS was on vacation in N.C. and was bitten by a shark yesterday...He had surgery on a leg and today they were operating on his hand....This seems to be happening more and more....Terrible!
