SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, June 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jun 16, 2015 4:24 am

Good Morning!

We are cooler today - about 75* I think. PURRFECT! Especially when I'll be running crazy again.

IRISH - you really need to keep a camera handy so we can all share those shorts-clad young fellas you are hogging! I hope you can get Jim to Tahoe. It's GORGEOUS there!

JANA - you had me at Chocolate Chip!

TINA - My DD has koi. An eagle got some of hers. So now she has new little ones, about 8", but her older survivors are up to 2-feet long now. Her pond is only about 8-10 feet round, but it's pretty deep and she has an underwater shelter that the fish like to huddle in.

VELDA - I like hash, but only if I make it - leftover roast beef, potatoes, and onion - I don't trust what they might hide in those cans! lol! Fun find - old quilting mags!

BECCA - I actually knew my LDH's ex-wife while they were still married and long before I ever met him. (though I did't care for her!) So it's not too difficult to act civilized when we have to be together. I refused to make our kids have to deal with dueling grammas, and now it's no big deal. But I admit, I prefer her not being there! lol!

LORI - We have a relative in my family with 3 brat grands. She thinks they are the sweetest little boys on earth. Everyone else shudders when they see those boys coming! lol!

Now, on to supper - Everything is packed! but I do have two pre-squashed burgers in the freezer and two buns that need to be eaten up. And plenty of pasta salad. So I think we won't be starving.

After tomorrow morning I won't have internet for a few days. So I hope you guys can fend for yourselves! But know I'll be sitting beside a crackling campfire alongside the beautiful Yakima River in eastern Washington. And we'll be grilling something tasty for our supper and sharing it with our camping friends.

Bon Appetit`!

Good morning,

Mary - a river, and a campfire - doesn't get any better that that!

Dinner - humm ..... maybe tacos or nachos I have everything for either - so I will see what strikes Michael's fancy.

He is currently on his hands and knees with a roll of blue painters tape - marking all the holes and dings in the kitchen floor. We found a flooring guy to come and fix the floor. We saved the extra flooring from building the house, just because we knew we were changing the kitchen.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! I think we will make lasagna here—some for us and another for the freezer. DGD and I want to get her quilt sandwiched so she can start another and I can quilt this one. We’ve been having a great time! We went and visited Mom yesterday—took her a bouquet from the yard, a sampler plate of DGD’s Chinese food (she ate it for lunch while we were there), and show and tell of DGD’s quilt. No shortage of things to do here!

Jana--glad to hear everyone is safe there--a good fire department is important! My floors are all beat up now--just lots of living on them. The first scratch was the hardest. After that... "oh well, it happens."

Mary--have a safe, fun trip!

Enjoy!

Good later morning from a dreary, overcast, looking like rain but every once in awhile, a peek of sun, SW. Pa....How's that for a forecast, a little of everything....As soon as my washer started, the clouds moved in so the rest of the clothes will wait for a sunnier day....

After thinking about yesterday, I really did sound like a kind of street walker, didn't I? I had 1 fellow in the living room, leading another upstairs to the bedroom while waiting for another to come to the door (and all this while Jim is home, lol)...Sounds like a soap or novel of some sort...But, my Mr. Schwann didn't make it and I'm thinking this must have been his off week...SO, we'll see if he shows next week...But, you know, 3 young fellows in 1 day is really too much, lol......
Jim started mowing the yard and I was able to use my little electric mower...It's pretty easy to use but now I'm thinking was this a good idea, I'll be expected to help every week...Sometimes, I'm just not too bright!

Mary, you know I really look forward to hearing about your traveling jaunts...I know it's places I'll never see so who better to have visit and tell us about them...And I have a feeling, although you will be camping along a gorgeous river probably full of "Mac n cheese", that's not what's going to be on your grill, right????
Safe travels my friend, we certainly will miss you...BUT, can't wait to hear a daily report of the travels.....

Chickie, I love to read about your time with your DGD...You must be beaming from ear to ear....What a treasure!

Jana, I'm sure that 1st ding was the hardest but you'll get it taken care of....I've wanted to replace our kitchen flooring so one of these days, look out...Another of my "to do" things....

Well, last night ended up a mish mash of left overs except, I also made breaded zucchini...So tonight might be the burgers on the grill, with veggies and a salad....Of course my menus aren't written in stone and if a better offer comes along, I'm game!

Happy eating.................

Gosh Mary just that 1 line " But know I'll be sitting beside a crackling campfire alongside the beautiful Yakima River in eastern Washington" did me in! Sounds so beautiful! I'd love to be there too! Take a picture and post for us when you can :o)
Jana, I hope your floor gets fixed up all shiny and new :o)
Chickie, sounds like such a fun time is going on at your house :o) Love that "My floors are all beat up now--just lots of living on them" THAT'S what my floors are...just lots of living on them! LOVE IT! And I also love lasagna! :o) Shoot I love food, who am I kidding LOL
Well we didn't have chicken last night, well not land chicken anyways LOL we had a form of Chicken from the sea LOL and it was so good! (Mary hide your eyes) LOL I actually planned on land chicken but couldn't find it :o) tonight is round steak at DD's and Pretty Little Liars and I have brisket in the fridge thawing for tomorrow so I'm all set for a couple days :o)

Let me clarify - there are large places missing in the floor from where we took out the old pantry - I can live with a few dings!

One of the holes is right above the Batt Cave - so when Michael needs me - he uses it as a intercom! LOL Ethan loves to drop things - toys through the hole too - I never know what I will find on my sewing table!

Oh my goodness, Jana, you have actual holes in your floor?! I was thinking little gouges and stuff not hole holes! Yep, better get that fixed ASAP. I'd be a nervous wreck with Easton if I had holes in mine that he could put things down......he'd make t big enough to climb through after a day or too, yikes!
