SUPPER CLUB - Sun, May 31st

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun May 31, 2015 3:54 am

Good Sunday morning!

Our shop is almost clean! Today will finish it off. We've gotten rid of so much JUNK, and reorganized our storage system for what is left. It's taken us 4 months, but now our entire house, garage, yard, and shop have been completely gone through - for the first time EVER. My dream is that from here on in - at least for the next year or so - it's only maintainance. I know - dream on, right? I'm even managing an hour or so in my sewing room every day. Not working on anything specific - just goofing around in there.

TINA - I thought "Soncho" might be something like that! lol! When Bill heads for home, he always calls to tell me to chase out the sailors!

JANA - thanks for the invite, but we have our own grad party very soon. Too bad that the other side of Stu's family bowed out. I hoope they weren't in charge of anything crucial - like cake!

IRISH - thank you for your sweet words. You're special, too! I hope Cari's dad will want to take an active part in his Dd's wedding, but if not, it will still be a beautiful, meaningful ceremony without his bucks. And it will be her dad's loss.

BECCA - does your neighbor have kohlrabis? all the best gardens do, you know. I love them. Beets - not so much.

VELDA - that roast recipe sounded like 'mmmm goooodd eatin'!' to quote Eddie from the Vacation movies.

Well, our pizza didn't happen last night. Bill remembered the potato/cabbage concoction we still had in the fridge. Well, actually, what he said was, "Pizza? Great! I thought we'd be having that potato/cabbage concoction in the fridge." lol! He should have kept quiet! But we'll do the pizza tonite. We're going out to our Sunday morning breakfast with my DB and SIL and will stop at the store on the way home for the items I realized we didn't have - like pepperoni. We'll probably have a campfire and dine fireside.

Where are you dining tonite?

Good morning,

Who knows when we will eat - we have stuff planned all day and I will be running!

Will this make me skinny? LOL

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very soggy, rainy, Sw. Pa...We started off with lots of sun and just in the last hour, it's gotten wet! But, my garden is loving every rain drop...I can almost hear the tomatoes singing.....And speaking of tomatoes, I have little green ones already..I have a feeling I'm going to be overwhelmed but I think we can handle it.....

Mary, Wow, everything gone through and cleaned up....It must be such a good feeling to have accomplishe so much.....A feeling, I don't think I'll be feeling, lol...But I have new windows and they actually go up and down...(Can you tell I'm excited?).....

We went to early Mass and then on to a fantastic breakfast...Along with our regular couple, Cari, her fellow Matt, her brother, Dan, and his girl friend, Casey joined us...It was wonderful! And Cari told me to save, Oct. 1st, 2016..That should give me time to get rid of some of these extra pounds and hopefully find that special dress....Cari, as any bride to be should be, is glowing, so excited....

Managed to read the paper and stay awake and now, I'm on my way to get new mini blinds and sheers......And if my girl is at the shop, might be able to get a hair cut.....Such a fun day, I know you're all green with envy.....

As far as dinner, I have hot dogs and saukraut in the crock pot so Jim will be a happy camper.....

Happy eating.............

It is cooler today...about 73 deg. Nice

Last night was Mama's and Friday night was Mama's lol! Tonight will probably be there, too...

Finally made it here. Tonight is for sure grilled food :-) I'm thawing a little steak we can split, ocra, salad and I think that does it! :-)
Clouds are rolling in, hopefully they will bring us some much needed rain. We're about 90, LOL it says it "fells like" 95....it feels hot to me!

Good afternoon!

We WILL be having CHERRY COBBLER for sure. As for protein? ...perhaps steak ...something easy. Yesterday I walked down to the end of the farm and picked a basket of cherries when I came home from town. DH helped me pit them, then I came inside and made two batches of jam and one rather large cobbler. The jam is TASTY! The cobbler is runny but delicious. Today I have been doing laundry and floors, and now I'm tired!

DS2 came and got the tractor yesterday to box blade his and some other driveways. DH asked him to do ours before he left. ALL of the grit that had washed down under the gravel has now been bladed to the top. Guess what happens to it??? Right... on my floors courtesy of Tinker Bell's giant furry, grit-carrying feet. DH may be pleased with the level driveway, but I am so not impressed. I preferred it with the gravel packed down and much of the grit ensconced under the gravel.
