SUPPER CLUB - Fri, April 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Apr 03, 2015 3:16 am

Good Morning!

I hope you all got a good meal last night! But where were TINA & JANA?? I hope they didn't go out to supper without us!

LADY CAROL - Sorry you keep losing your power. They have spent a year burying the power lines on our road so that doesn't happen to us.

JOANNE - I wouldn't put cash in the eggs either! Whenever we had egghunts there were always a few eggs that never got found!

CHICKIE - you think blue potatoes taste different from green ones? lol!! Hope you all can be out on your front porch for Easter brunch. Such a pretty view you have!

BECCA - sounds like there's no need to be worrying about you for the next few days. Your DD sounds awesome!

IRISH - if your crowd comes to your house for breakfast/brunch, how many will that be? If my entire family is together (3 kids, their spouses, and two grandsons) we only have ten. But we haven't all been together for several years now since Autumn lives 2500 miles away. Wait!! Did you say there was pie??? . . . .

Well, our leftovers are history. We need new food for tonite, but being Good Friday, it won't be meat. I might make veggie alfredo. That would make my DH very happy. I have to stop at the store on the way home from my eye dr appt this morning so I'll get some interesting veggies.

Another thing I''d like to try making is a homemade pizza I had at my friend's. The crust is made with cauliflower. Hers was VERY good and tasted like a normal pizza crust - only more "gourmet". She said I could just Google cauliflower pizza and the recipe will come up. But I'm not telling DH before he eats it!

What's for supper at your house?

Good morning,

Oh, we didn't go out with out y'all. The grands came to spend the night, just about our dinnertime, which is late. So I made cupcakes with them and we skipped dinner - snacked in whatevers.

Today I am putting a couple of pork steaks in the crockpot for dinner tonight.

The grands will be here most of the day - we just finished buttermilk from scratch pancakes for breakfast. They love them!

Enjoy,
Jana

Oh yes, early tomorrow morning is a lunar eclipse and this week-end is church in jammies time - General Conference.

We are having lunch with friends today, so dinner will be light... maybe soup and sandwiches...

Good afternoon from overcast but warm, SW. Pa...I guess this being Good Friday, the weather suits the day......

Mary, I think I'd be afraid to try the new Pizza crust with Jim, although I have been known to feed him unknown foods...You'll have to let us know how it turned out....AND we DID have pie...In this house, you need to be quick if you want some...I made a 10 inch. apple pie, Jim had 2 pieces as soon as he came home from bingo, another piece for dinner, Dan came down and he had a piece and took 1 with him and there is a small piece left...I did sample it (about 3 apple slices) and it did taste pretty darn good....
And if everyone would happen to show for breakfast on Sunday, besides being elated and after fainting, I'd be asking the neighbors for chairs....With all the kids, spouses, grand kids and great grand kids, there would be 31....You didn't know you part of a big family, did you? But, you know, you and Bill are invited, just bring your chairs and silverware....Years ago, my Mom showed up at one of the dinners carrying a chair......
When Cari called the other night, she said her dryer had broken and would it be OK to bring her laundry....Shades of when the kids were away at school....

Today is get the house in order and hopefully finish the curtains for the freshly painted room....Never did run my errands so that's also on the list.....

And for dinner, good question....It could be grilled cheese and tomato soup or might be left over stuffed shells....And I refuse to bake until tomorrow.....Graham crackers for afters....

Happy eating............

Rainy and overcast, but warm...60's!

Tonight we eat out..no messing up the kitchen with cooking! Probably go to Mama's, but you never know! I'll try to make Earl pick a place...

All I'm doing tomorrow is the ham...Betty (DD)is making macaroni salad, Taylor (DD-I-L)will do dill potato salad. Earl's daughter is bringing real mac and cheese, Norwegian cole slaw and cherry cheesecake cupcakes. Kim, Earl's other daughter will bring fruit salad and one of the daughter in laws will bring baked beans the other corn. And that's all I know!

Joanne
