SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 30, 2015 4:20 am

Happy Monday!! Sorry I never made it here yesterday but looks like no one else did either! We must have all dieted! Sunday mornings are always busy for us. We're up and out of here by 7:45 to meet my DB & wife for breakfast. Then we came home, gathered up coupons and list and went off to costco. Got home from there and it was put everythign away and then make burgers, and meatloaves to freeze. Before I knew it the morning was gone.

I did try a new-to-me food yesterday at breakfast - Scotch Eggs. They cover hard boiled eggs in sausage, panko breading, and fry (or maybe bake) them. They they cut them in half and top them with Hollandaise sauce. I'm not a big sausage fan, but I thought these were good! But to much for one meal, so I had the second half this morning.

Last night we had burgers on the grill, cottage cheese, and sliced tomatoes. For supper tonite? Gosh, I've given it no thought yet. Maybe pork chops, mashed potatoes, and the last of the brussels sprouts.

Does anyone have Easter plans yet?

Good morning from sunny but still cold, SW. Pa....But, it's sunny....

I was wondering what happened to everyone yesterday...As long as were not dieting, then I'm OK....Don't like that word, never works for me....

Mary, not only are you Irish but not you're a little bit Scottish as well...I've seen those eggs but have never eaten them, might have to give it a try.....
Our Sundays are Mass, breakfast and then Aldi's...Talk about exciting...But, yesterday, I did make a cat food run to Walmart...Kathy had just texted me, saying they had driven through where they filmed Big Valley and then went to a walnut farm...I wrote back and said I had just driven through Walmart's parking lot and am surrounded by nuts of another kind....So much fun on a Sunday afternoon......

Now today will be a good day...I'm meeting a gal friend for a Pre Easter luncheon, much like the St. Paddy's lunch we had gone to...It's kind of fancy (even have to wear shoes) but so much fun...So, that means, no cooking in this house (again)..

I'm sure there is something in the frig that hasn't turned green and is still edible...If not, I can always find something in the freezer....Don't have to worry about Jim going hungry...Of course he might start complaining about the lack of baked goodies....Maybe tomorrow the baker might be back.....

And as far as Easter, we used to have everyone here for breakfast (Jim being the chief pancake/waffle maker) but lately, it's been hard so, we might just eat out...I know a couple of grands will be coming in from out of town so that might change our plans a little...We normally go to Kevin's for a late dinner..But, no matter, it will be a good day....

Happy eating.......

IRISH Your Sunday drive to Walmart gave me a laugh.Does anyone else feel dirty after they go? I always do & my DB always takes a shower when he gets home from there.Maybe we are nutty.LOL

Yesterday we had grilled chicken Breast,Green beans & creamed potatos.

Good morning!

We ate yesterday - no diets around here!

Irish - what fun for Kathy - she should take a ride down towards Chriss - the almonds will in bloom about now in the Central Valley. Hershey had a chocolate plant down there that they did tours - my kids loved it, but they closed the plant a few years ago - but there is a nice train that she could ride and have dinner on too. My house in Concord was in the old orchards of walnuts - that is why they named the city next to me - Walnut Creek. But alas, the orchards are all gone from there - just housing orchards now.

Mary - I have heard of those scotch eggs before - my only problem with them is that I have to have the yolk hard cooked - like you with banned food! LOL

Becca - sometimes it is better just to have a little of the family - you can enjoy them more.

Ethan has a thing about those plastic eggs - that you can put stuff in - I made a door wreath out of those cheap plastic eggs and some plastic Easter grass - Ethan got very upset at me - he could not open the eggs to get out something - even though I told him that there was nothing in them - well put something in there so I can open it! Silly Boy! Such fun!

Dinner - humm - I have banned, chicken and turkey - I will see what strikes our fancy come dinner time - banned cassarole sounds good - that is if I can make just a small one - I am used to making large ones for the family - they all love it.

I will have my other grands overnight on Thursday and all day Friday - get to spoil them with scratch buttermilk pancakes for breakfast.

Enjoy,
Jana
