SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, March 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 26, 2015 3:57 am

Good Morning!

It's not raining! The birds are singing! I'm coughing less! I think I'll be walking today - finally! My walking partner from across the road, Lori, had a retinal detachment so had been down and out while I've had my cold and cough. she was released yesterday to finally be up out of her special face-down chair she's been sitting and sleeping in for 3 weeks. So she gets to walk, too. Happy days here!

CHICKIE - you FORGOT supper??? That's no big surprise in this house, but it's hard to imagine your DH letting that happen, even if he did have a big snack! lol! I hope you and all your baby cows got through all the storms in your area unscathed.

BECCA - I've been a little green when you've mentioned your walks but finally, today, I think I'll get back to mine! Scottie was excited to get the news!

JOANNE - do you use Color-Catchers? Chickie turned me on to them and now I use a half-sheet every time I wash fabric.

IRISH - yes, I have a checkered past Ten years as a semi-professional belly dancer. A lifetime (and 35 pounds!) ago! My dance name was "Amara". My mom actually encouraged me to take lessons and paid for my first session back when I was 25. She was a fun mom! We were watching Alaska State Troopers last night and I thought of you. They were in Dutch Harbor and adults had to walk kids to and from school because the eagles kept attacking them! It's a real problem up there! I never thought of eagles doing that! Did you do your crossword puzzles in ink??

TINA - she's been busy rounding up more kittens. She's up to five now, plus mama cat, and 2 or 3 regular cats. Isn't she lucky?? I told her if she'd deliver, I'd take the black and white one.

JANA - did you forget suppper, too??

Ah- supper. I almost forgot it myself! But here it is. Since today is supposed to be upper 60's and mostly sunny, I think we're going to grill out on the deck. We have BBQ-seasoned chicken from Costco (love their pre-seasoned chicken breasts) an we'll put some potatoes on the grill, too. I have brussels sprouts and could also make a salad. That should be enough to tide us over!

I hope you are having grilling weather, whether you want to grill or not!

Good morning,

Maryz - a meal missed here - never! Michael always remembers! We went out to Chilis last night and have leftovers for lunch today.

We are headed off to Costco too. Out of necessities - toilet paper and cat rocks! We love the pre-seasoned pork spare ribs. I buy a package and divide them in to portions for us, but somehow my kids find out I am cooking ribs and show up. LOL

Dinner - humm - what to cook - I can cook anything my heart desires! The kitchen is totally back in its new places. Found a new recipe for Nacho cheese chicken soup - think I will try that one tonight.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from semi dreary with a peek of sun every once in awhile...But, we're in the 50s so that's a huge plus....

Mary, WOW, you really do have an interesting past...I had always heard that type of dance was very exercise...So glad to get your text last night...Jim kept saying, who and finally I said, Mary, you know Gig Harbor Mary and then he knew....Haven't been to the mail yet but now I'm excited....And yes I do my cross words in ink...I really can't start my morning until the puzzles are done.....That's interesting about the eagles in Alaska..I have heard they are really big, much bigger than the ones we have...I'll tell you this "hatch" watch is very nerving...And then I never know whether to make pink or blue booties....
In the nest in Ft. Myers, Harriet is still searching for Ozzie and fending off suitors...Very interesting how these bird find out the male is gone and then want to move in....But, Ozzie is doing very well and hopefully will be back before someone else claims her heart and nest...Their little one has been taking short flights and still needs to learn how to hunt for himself.....

Jim is still on the mend so he was excused from bingo...I was going to meet a friend for lunch but decided, maybe best to just stay home....There will be other days....

Forget a meal, never...Even if our dinner is in the middle of the afternoon, lol....We had chicken and all the fixins last night and I'm hoping there's enough left over for tonight....I'm still not baking but we do have graham crackers so Jim can still satisfy his sweet tooth......

Happy eating................

Joanne, what did you think of Survivor??? Those men need to be separated and I'm hoping the other one goes next week...Just can't handle his accent or the way he talks about women.....

Good afternoon! Sun is shining here, too, but it’s at least 20 degrees cooler than yesterday before the storms. We are fine here—some bluster and little rain. I feel so sorry for those people who got hit again in Moore, OK.

MaryZ—you are right, DH does not let me forget dinner. We had soup with cheese, crackers and salami. Tonight… who knows? I guess I can go get some chicken and thaw it. Chicken taco soup would be good… can you tell, I’m chilly!

Jana—I look forward to seeing our kitchen! I was amazed at how much I could do with the crock pot and electric skillet and microwave when we were without a kitchen. Gotta have TP!

I wonder if those children could carry umbrellas and cover their heads with them to keep the eagles from attacking them??? That’s pretty scary! I’d be worried about my furbabies!

Yes, I do love those Color Catchers! No more pink underwear for DH!!!

Irish—is it mandatory that everyone on Survivor goes around half naked? I wondered if a criteria to be on the show was to “let it all hang out.”

I’m going to go grocery shopping and to visit Mom this afternoon. Guess I should get around and go. It’s cool, so both dogs will probably make the outing with me. How do you say “spoiled” in dog language?

Good Evening All......bit windy....but not a bad day today......

ok.....so I"m not going to make my Gold Star this week.....just getting into bed and realised I hadn't made it to the table.....and today....well.....trying to make a Tea Cosy....a Coffee Pot Cosy and a Tote Bag......not a good idea....all on the same day......quite a few naughty words have been bandied about here today......so I am now going to jack it in and do a bit of knitting......

about those colour catchers.....I use them all the time and also when I give my quilts away.....I always enclose a couple with the care instructions......

menu today.....Ham Salad with Honey and Mustard dressing......Spicy Wedges and Garlic Bread......(not our normal Thursday Egg and Chips)Jammy Doughnuts for afters.......didn't want to stand and cook today......my sewing room day put me right off the cooker.....
