SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Mar 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Mar 18, 2015 3:57 am

Hey, y'all! Did you survive your St. Paddy's Day celebrations? Maybe I celebrated a bit too early - sorry about that date, Irish! Glad you didn't scold me too hard. and running around with my sis all day long. I be TIRED!

JANA - your dinner last night reminded me of the dinners I used to make when the kids were little - BBQ'd hamburger pie with green crust, green mashed potatoes, green peas, green salad, green biscuits, and green Kool Aid. They loved it! The one time they would eat all their dinner without complaining!

But last night, after another day of rushing around, I just made a quick pesto pasta dish.

My sis leaves this afternoon. I'm thinking I will make a stew and put it in the crockpot this morning so when we get back from the airport supper will be a done deal! I know I'll not be feeling like cooking anything by then.

Hope someone in your household feels like cooking tonite?

Good morning from a chilly but sunny, SW. Pa....

Oh Mary, so glad to see you, was worried that just maybe you were out there celebrating way too much (without me)....Is this the sister that is like my sister??? .....

Yesterday, our lunch was great...There had to be over 100 people, all wearing green and eating lots of really good stuff.....After that, my friend and I had to stop at JoAnn and then went to my sisters....Got home in time to pop some left overs in the micro and make Jim a happy camper.....
Not sure what today will bring....Just checked 1 of my eagle nests and 1 of the Florida eagles might have been injured...An injured eagle had been found near a railroad and taken into a rehab hospital...Not sure if it's from this pair but the male hasn't been back to the nest since yesterday afternoon...I worry about them as I would my own kids......

Now on to dinner (as I sit here in my robe)...I did see a recipe for chicken and biscuits I'd like to try...I think Jim should be up for a surprise...And, I'll need to be baking something........

Happy eating..............

Good to see that St. Paddy's Day didn't take out two of my favorite "Irish"!! Mary, you need to rest a little after being so sick!!

Dinner...I haven't a clue. We went to Mama's Grill last night, so I'll need to cook something tonight. Hmmmmmmm........

Think I will be making a grilled chicken with a lemon herb sauce, mashed potatoes, broccoli and a salad. A few days of hot weather and not cooking really makes me want a good dinner tonight.

Last night was the Quilt Guild Show wrap up meeting where awards are handed out. I had a second place ribbon in the mixed techniques category. This show had a lot of really beautiful quilts and I had stiff competition for sure!

Good morning,

I am cooking again! The guys are here finishing the glass doors and the lighting! Just the range hood which needs a sheetmetal fabricator to make a piece to make it fit is all that is left. My sample of backsplash tile was mailed - so we may have it ordered by the end of the week. We are doing that work. So I am getting my new set of dishes out and ruuning them through the dishwashers and starting to load the cabinets. These were part of my Christmas and have been in boxes in my bedroom since then. Excitement!

Dinner - I need a run to the store for groceries, so I will see what jumps in the basket.

Enjoy,
Jana

They are done! I am emptying the temp kitchen and getting rid of that and moving into the new one! DH is in shock after writing the final payment. Just one divider on b/o and one defective knob.

Good Evening All......A nice sunny but chilly(still)day........

Well....what can I say.....back for a couple of days....feeling a little smug at having got through the winter without even a sneeze.....and.....wham.....that will teach me......a not very nice tummy bug......had to keep the "little girls room" in full view....and then.....got clobbered with this awful persistent dry cough again....but this time......was sent for an e-ray straight away..waiting for results.....

the menu here has been.....Soup.....Soup....and more.....Soup.....
but today has been a little more substantial......
Shepherds Pie...Carrots and Curly Kale.....Apple Crumble and Cream.....

Maryz.....I do know you have been poorly too.....hope you are now feeling a lot better....I did see your "medical team" looking after you on FB.....that was a cracking good photo........

well.....havent been able to keep up with the rest of the supper clubbers.....but do hope you all are keeping fighting fit....and am hoping "normal" service will now continue......
