Supper club, Friday, the 13th, Oh No!

Oh no is right, where is Mary?????Sure hope and pray she's not worse but hoping she went to see the doctor/or is all better.....

Yep, this is Friday the 13th but I think it's going to be a lucky day....We have sun, lots of sun although, we will be getting rain later and it sounds like there will be rain on our parade tomorrow...But, the Irish are used to rain and it won't "dampen" their spirits......

Once again, not much happening in this neighborhood...Doing some laundry and a few uglies...Doing Sat. stuff today because Jim wants me to go to the AOH tomorrow for a little Irish entertainment.....We'll see....

Also, not sure what all might be cooking today...Jim wants to get take out from the local firehall dinner and we all know what that is...But, I'm making a big pot of halushki (and I know that's now how it's spelled), so that will be my dinner....

So, what lucky food is making it's way to your table????

Good morning, Irish,

I'm here in spirit. But the body is a bit bedraggled the past few days. I didn't know that about St. Patrick. Jana will be interested in that, though she probably already knows, living with an engineer. I have to ask: what is Hushabuski? I'm not even going to try spelling that?

I'm not sure what's for supper here. Frankly, I don't care! We have some leftover meatloaf, salad makings, and leftover chicken noodle casserole that I made yesterday. I made two because my neighbor across the road that I walk with every morning had sudden surgery for a retinal detachment. So we put the casserole in a cooler on her porch about 6pm last night. Her DH texted me this morning to say surgery went well, follow-up appt this morning. How scary. She just had to trump my crud! lol!

Well, I think it's time for my next nap.

IRISH Enjoy your St.Patty celebrations.Glad you have sun.Send it my way please.We have had a week of rainy dreary weather.But glad it is only rain.

MARYz Just rest & soon you will be well again.Our DGS facetimed & his 2 little girls both have it.The one in WA so maybe it is the area.

I have hd a busy morning cleaning spices,checking dates on all box goods.Had to bake a cake & make pancakes to freeze as a result.Dates were close to expiring.One was yesterday.Also made homemade spaghetti so we are set.Will add salad for me & Crusty bread for DH.

Irish - yes please explain your dinner - ingredients please.

Granite is in! Looks wonderful! Now DH might not survive the day. He wants a horrid color - he thinks it looks good - no way it is going on my walls while I am living here! He will come over to my choice or the walls stay white. The range is being delivered this afternoon as well, but not actually installed. It will be in place, but the hook up will be next week.

Got to run - range is here!

See, I knew you'd never guess what I was eating, lol......But, it's fried cabbage and noodles, all mixed up......Of course you need a couple pounds of butter to get it right....Jim really doesn't care for it but I love it....When Kathy was still in these parts, I would use a big head of cabbage and almost a whole package of noodles and she and I would put a dent in that bowl.....
Now, if I just knew how to spell it!

Didn't know that St. Patrick was the patron saint for engineers. My family and Michael's family have been Mormon for many generations, so I am a liitle less knowledgeable about saints. Thanks for the info!

Hello! We returned from town, and sure enough… we owe, we owe! We owe Uncle Sam and the State as usual.

Irish—I know I would like what you are having—cabbage, noodles and butter!!! Doesn’t get a whole lot better than that! I’d like a side of Jim’s selection, too!!! You know me!

Jana—I saw where your range has been delivered and you are now working on kitchen walls color. Too funny about your DH’s choice! My DH is color blind and thinks that almost anything goes together when in reality—YIKES!!! Not much longer until you are cooking for real in your new kitchen.

Becca—Nothing like the dates to make us cook!

Mary—so sorry you are still ailing. Did you get into see a doctor? Be sure you are drinking lots of fluids whether you want to or not, especially if you have any fever. Your poor neighbor! That’s so scary, and a retinal detachment with surgery definitely trumps your crud. Sorry!

Our lovely day of yesterday turned to gray, cold drizzle today. On the happy side, my pet cow Timi had a big bouncing black calf this morning. I swear, her girl is as big as some born last week! Hope she is o.k. I will take her apples later. She was up at the fence last evening and I gave her apples. What a sweetie! We also have another calf… 9 total now.

Tonight’s supper… brats on buns for DH, and hot ‘n sour soup for me.

Tonight was Parmesian Chicken (I can't spell worth a hoot anymore! lol!)and Fried Rice and corn...biscuits too. It was good!

Amazing Race is on tonight, along with Gold Rush which is winding up for the season. And Irish, we are watching Survivor! Sometimes it's like watching a train wreck..lol!
