SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, March 5th
Seems I just typed "Thurs" only a few days ago! And here we go again.
CHICKIE - I can certainly see you as a rabble-rouser! The nuns at my school would have "worked" that right out of you, given the opportunity. Do you put a little pillow between your knees at night? That really helps my back. So does a few IBU's at bedtime. A ribbon on little "Junior" - or maybe "Juney" - would help to tell her apart from the rest. You know, Sandy KHO named her calf Mary Z. Just sayin' . . .
BECCA - 13 acres is a nice piece of property. We have only 2-1/2 acres and most of it is just woods. I love having the 'buffer' between us and the nearby housing developments. I'm curious to see what your realtor tells you.
JANA - as to pond fruit, I know you're a naughty girl. But I like you anyway!
TINA - Are you grilling outside still or is it indoor weather now?
JOANNE - you, too with the pond fruit?? Really??? What is this, a revolt! Such a revolting situation!!
IRISH - the crick/creek debate comes up in our family more often than you would think. We've expanded our discussions to rivulets, streams, and rivers, on occasion, too. So, your "Irish Stew" - haha! get it? IRISH stew - sounds tasty. I think you should get an award for the best supper. I might make that when my sister comes to town. We're going to spend the day hitting all the thrift shops and it will be nice to come home to a supper in the crockpot.
Tonite, for us, will be re-runs again. A little BBQ'd pork, a bit of chicken soup, a dab of mashed potatoes. I thought we were going out tonite to celebrate Warren's birthday, but it was changed to Sunday. And I didn't get the word until AFTER I spent $7.50 on blueberries to garnish his lemon cheesecake. I hope they keep!
Bon Appetit`!

Mary, I grill outside as much as possible, usually the wind is the downer for not. I've grilled out in snow and rain, just can't if the wind gets too bad. We didn't eat outside though, bummer....it was to cold for that.
Tonight will be fajitas and guacamole and salad

Good morning,
Let's hope I can not hit the wrong button, here - my other post went poof!
Nachos worked last night and the boys got the wiring done - totally invisible as to where the plugs are in the island. They did good.
I need a trip to the grocery store - so something easy will be dinner - maybe even take out.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good early afternoon from white, wintery, Sw. Pa...As Joanne posted, snow is everywhere, lots and lots of snow...And if this had been the 1st snow of the year, it would be gorgeous, BUT......
Mary, I too think this has to be the 2nd Thursday this week...The days are really flying by...Whoever invented the crock pot had to have been a genus...Not only cooks but you get to smell it all day...But, a word of warning, don't start it at night, the aroma will keep you awake all night....Trust me, it does.....
Jim had a call this morning, bingo was cancelled and he was happy...You would think this was a nasty job but he just didn't want to hear the "old" ladies complain about the weather, again....
Tina, remember that Mexican dish you said you'd make for me...It started with a R and they are peppers? Well, in talking to Kathy, she told me, her DH has these peppers in their garden and she's has grown to love them...Am I the only one who hasn't tasted these things????
It's hard for me to imagine anyone cooking out when all I see is snow...
Well, the "Irish" stew was very good and will probably be better today...Leftovers for dinner unless someone, who will remain nameless, gets into it for lunch....Then it will be a bag of pop corn.....
Just want to warm you all, I have lunch plans for tomorrow and if the weather doesn't improve, you'll really hear the wailing and teeth gnashing coming from this side of the country.....
Happy eating..............

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, March 5th
Mary—I had a teacher throw chalk at me in 4th grade. I think I was talking too much. Can you believe that? Little ole me… I was always getting into trouble. I probably should have gone to a school with nuns. But then… I watched “Philomena” the other evening. What a sad movie. Those nuns were evil. I hope all nuns aren’t like that.
I don't mind being on "The List"--no such thing as bad publicity. If you are talking about me, you are leaving alone someone who cares.
We checked cows this afternoon, and we now have FIVE calves! Population explosion!!! The one we found yesterday apparently wasn’t finished, and she has twins… little twin black calves. There is also a smoky white one. And another black one to go with the first black one. I will be thinking of naming one for you… It just makes me sad to send named babies off to market…
Tina—I have grilled out in snow. We don’t have a grill. DH isn’t interested. I wish I had a Jenn-aire here—much easier than running out and back inside to keep things going.
Jana—hate when that happens! Poof! I keep thinking about wiring the island, but it probably won’t happen.
Joanne—the snow really is pretty. Ours never covered the grass, so it wasn’t ever solid white. Oh well… next year, maybe.
Becca—thanks for agreeing with me about using our own pond fruit. I think Mary may be in the minority here… I can’t believe you are still getting snow!
Irish—aren’t crock pots wonderful! One of the best inventions of last century! Jim is so funny—he can stay home and listen to us complain about the weather. Hope your plans don’t get cancelled tomorrow! I hate to hear keening, wailing and gnashing…
Today was NICE!!! The dogs and I went to Edna to the quilt shop for my BOM. Tomorrow is supposed to be even better. I think we will have more calves in the next couple of days. So happy they don’t have to be born in snowdrifts!
Tonight we cleaned up the last of the soup and pulled pork. Soup and sandwich for DH, soup for me. Tomorrow we are going to the Catholic church **** fry—I look forward to Lent every year!
