SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Mar 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Mar 04, 2015 4:29 am

Good Morning!

Last night I had a dream that after almost 25 years together I realized that Bill and I had forgotten to get married! Oh no! We were in our trailer - which wasn't really our trailer - and I had a selection of wedding dresses in it. I always travel prepared, you know. So we decided to get "elope" (we were in Oregon in my dream so it would be eloping, right?) and our friends, Jay & Jackie, were with us and said they'd be our witnesses. But we were confused - we didn't know HOW to elope! Where do we go? Who do we call? Which dress? (finally decided to go with red sweat pants and a gray hoodie. What a dilemma! I woke up before we got married. I think I'll check our marriage certificate again - just to make sure.

Now, on to our agenda - food!

CHICKIE - Yes, there is a prize for most check marks. I'd hate to see you win it. I've always liked you . . . But me name your new black calf just might go a long way towards 'blacking' out some of those check marks. And I christen your new baby "Doyal Junior"! Boy or girl. You may refer to him/her as Junior if you wish.

JANA - sorry about both Ethan and Sarah not feeling well. Will hold good thoughts for for them both.

TINA - strawberries! Lucky you! I'm on the hunt for fresh raspberries today, though I may have to make do with blueberries. I want to put them on my lemon cheesecake for garnish. This is friend Warren's birthday 'cake'. We're taking him out to supper tomorrow night to celebrate.

IRISH - I get a chuckle out of your Jim almost every time you mention his name! I used to like cabbage rolls, and might still if I ate one. But I got some at the cafeteria where I was working once and had it half eaten when a dead fly rolled out of the cut edge and landed on my plate. YUCK!!! I almost ate it! It's really put me off cabbage rolls even though I realize it's not a usual ingredient. .

BECCA - I love chicken and dumplings, too. I didn't think of dumplings. But I'd probably still have used rice because, gosh darn, but we have a lot of it! And we bought the smallest bag Costco has!

Last nights oven BBQ'd pork was great. And we'll have leftovers tonite. Leftover everything! Mashed potatoes and green beans, too. So it'll just be a matter of dishing plates and popping them into the "nukifier".

Hope your supper is tasty and easy, too! And, Chickie, I've got my eye on you . . . .

Ha, ha, ha!!! I hope to have a girl calf on your b-day! Then I need to convince DH that wee need to keep her for a cow. Sometimes we keep a heifer. I was so lucky to get to keep Timi. Of course, DH probably knew the drama that would happen if she went to market. My other bottle baby, Peaches, did go... sigh! I had her at the time of the fire and we didn't get to be as close as Timi and I did. Peaches had to grow up quickly and join the big cows... which she did.

It's hard to name the black calves as so many are black and so hard to distinguish between them. The new one is black... a heifer.

I used to get in trouble at school for being a rabble rouser, so guess I'm just keeping up tradition... Bring on the check marks!

Dinner was YUM last night, and the leavings will be returning tonight.

I have those crazy, crazy dreams and wonder what I did to make my sleeping mind run in those nutty veins. Last night I had trouble sleeping because my hip hurt no matter what position I was in. I just rolled in my cocoon all night trying to be comfortable. Odie rode the waves beside me. At some time, DH went and slept in his recliner which eases his back. Getting old is such fun!

Good almost afternoon from a very dreary, rainy, turning to snow, just plain yucky, SW. Pa..We do having flooding going on in some parts and more expected.....But, not going to let the weather put me in a bad mood, today is going to be purrrrfect.....

Mary, Wow, what did you have to eat before you went to bed???? What a dream! I think you'd like my cabbage rolls, I don't normally add the flies.....And to live in this house, you do get a lot of laughs, sometimes or most times, not meant to be laughable...Jim isn't noted for having a sense of humor but he does come up with some good ones every once in awhile...And put the 2 of us together and you have a regular Frick and Frack......
And in reading the book, I'm really getting educated...After 77 years I now know the difference between a creek and a "crick"....Around here it's crick and the one near us just might go over it's banks....

Chickie, I'd be very, very careful with what you put on your table....When the "chief" says, she has her eye on you, that's something to take note of.....So what are you naming the new baby?

Becca, I was thinking of you when they were giving the weather...After having your spring like temps, now you're back with the rest of us "shiverers", aren't you? How did you do with the realtor? I was just telling Jim, we need to have someone come and divide our property...Too much to take care of.....

My supper is very easy and hopefully it will be tasty...I have stew in the crock pot and of course it's smelling up the whole house (in a good way)....Don't know why, but have been thinking of rice pudding...Maybe Carol is sending me vibes......Wish she'd hurry back.....

Happy eating................

I think I am on the list with Chickie...and I have to say that "pond food" is only eaten by me maybe once or twice a year! We went to Mama's for dinner on Tues. and Wed. in anticipation of the big "snow" coming today. Both nights I had "pond food" and chips with slaw! It was the only thing that appealed to me for some reason! I'm doomed!

Tonight I fixed stuffed pork chops, sweet potato medley from Market Day, corn, and salad!

Good Afternoon.Has been 66 today & they are saying snow tomorrow. We shall see.

CHICKIE I made the check list today too. Those babies are cute I know.

MARYz Your dreams sounds like mine.I wonder how can you have such crazy ideas.I am always trying to get home in my dreams.

Well the realtor just left. She will call to let us know the news. That will have a big bearing on what we do.IRISH We sit here with 13 acres which we do not need to be keeping us.Of course much is just woods.Too old for this. But we will not give it away either.Time will tell.

It is mac n cheese salad ,roasted potatos, salad & coconut cake...Becca

Good afternoon,

I must be the leader of the pack with pond fruit. We eat pacific pond, atlantic pond, and stream pond. Love pond fruit!

But tonight I will be good - will attempt to make nachos. I should be able as I have my large frying pan and everything else is prepped.

We have snow still on the ground, but it is melting fast. A whooping 34 outside now.

Enjoy,
Jana
