SUPPER CLUB - Sun, MARCH!! 1st
Can you believe it?? March already! Where does the time go?
I finished all my Chaos blocks yesterday and have 5 of the 9 rows together. I'll finish that this morning and I think make flying geese for the borders, placing them on end. Not sure how that's going to look but in my mind, it will be stunning! lol!
Also, I think DH will be finishing up the last chore in the trailer today! Hip Hip Hooray! So maybe this afternoon there will be enough time left to start cleaning the mess he made (NOT complaining! But this kind of work can't be done without a mess) and then start moving back in.
But first - meeting my DB and SIL (Jim & Terry) for our usual 0800 Sunday breakfast at the local watering hole - The Hi-Eu-He-He Tavern.
CHICKIE - You have such fine escorts when you go to town! If you ever come west to visit, you better not be leaving them behind in KS! I love Dutch Babies, too. My recipe calls for peach and sausage in the center of them. Sounds weird but is good. Though I haven't made them in years.
LYN - husbands have this fragile self-image that they seem to think they have to maintain. In my mind, they deserve what they get. Not a very sympathetic attititude for a nurse, is it! lol!
IRISH - your sis sounds like my sis! I think the four of us should get together and spend the day joy-riding in your BIL's new pick-up! lol! Congrats to your DS and DGS on making it to the robotics competition. All I know about that is what I saw on an episode of Big Bang Theory once. (that's where I get all my good info on everything!)
JANA - Hope you got your island electrical outlets all worked out. I hope while the great engineering minds were at work, you were close by to supervise. In my experience, female wisdom and common sense trump male anything every day of the week. (don't tell Bill that, though!)
Speaking of the HOH (he insists that means Head of Household, though I tell him in my former line of work it meant Hard of Hearing.) he has requested pork chops and a baked sweet potato tonite. I'll use up the last of our salad makings, to.
What ideas have you come up with for tonite?

Hi there!
Yes, they did solve the problems on the island and even one with where the microwave goes. They will be adding a circuit for the refrig - Michael likes the frig on a circuit all alone - nothing to trip it off.
The kids are bringing out dinner tonight - corned beef.
Off to church -
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! We are warmer this morning… 28 degrees! That almost 3” snow blanket IS warm!!! It’s so pretty, too!
Well, that pond fruit I was thawing in the refrigerator for Friday may make it to the skillet this evening. It was still hard as a rock yesterday in its ice cube. On the other hand, I’m going to be making a cookie for DGS who turns 14 tomorrow. With any luck we might get a supper invitation…
I made tamale pie/casserole last evening. I used massa as it was all I had and just dumped a bunch of stuff in it. I layered the pork filling in it and steamed it like tamales. I may make DH a Mexican food lover yet… he had several helpings and liked it. Really liked it. It is GOOD! I can’t tell you exactly what I put in with the massa… water, salsa, baking powder, salt, oil… I served it with enchilada sauce on the side to ladle over it. (like the sauce in the canned tamales used to be)
Jana—my island doesn’t have electricity, and I wish it did. I wish it had a Jenn –Aire in it, too, but oh well… Actually, it’s not secured to the floor and I’ve scooted it a bit as I needed a different set up.
Mary—HOH… love your definitions! Hard of Hearing works here!!! We can’t get off the reservation without our noble escorts!!! They think they should go everywhere with us and usually do. They don’t seem to mind waiting in the vehicle for us. Your quilt sounds wonderful—even if the border is all in your mind… great quilts are born there!
Irish—some of the kids from around here have done well in the robotics competition, but I haven’t known any of them. I think it’s such a neat activity! Congratulations to your family!!! They can invent me a housekeeper… except you probably call dibs first!
Lyn—I may try the pancake tomorrow! DH has some waffles left from yesterday for this morning.
Enjoy!

Good early afternoon from snowy/rainy/yucky SW. Pa...It's another stay at home day....We got a couple of inches of snow over night and then it rained and then it got icy....Just love this weather!
So no Mass and breakfast with our friends...This just messes up the whole week, lol......
Mary, Oh my, now I can't wait to tell my sister about your idea...I wonder if BIL would notice if she and I borrowed the truck for a trek out west...While he's rehabbing, not much he can do about it, right.....I'm gonna tell her to gas up!
Chickie, I made my gingerbread and in turn burned my tongue because I couldn't wait....I almost made shoe fly cake instead but stayed with the gingerbread...Next will be the cake....
Jana, always a good idea to have all those circuits. When we 1st moved into this house, it seemed like everything was on one and I was popping left and right...Then when we put in the pool, we had to redo, thank goodness....I can imagine how excited (and antsy) you must be....
HOH (and in this house it really does stand for hard of hearing) normally doesn't ask for anything special for dinner..In a way, I wish he would but then it might be a constant menu of hot dogs and/or pop corn.....But, today is an "ify" day...If I feel like looking in the freezer, might cook, If the roads clear, might make a Pizza Hut order.....AND if someone does want a bag of popcorn, that might be a possibility....I'll have ginger bread.
Happy eating...............
