SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Feb 24th
Good Morning!
It's another way-too-early morning for me this morning. I like getting up early, but the last few days have been uber-early! And the Dog isn't helping! He senses I'm awake, jumps up on the bed, landing on top of me, and starts yipping and nipping. My next dog is going to be a goldfish!
JANA - did your granite folks ever come?
IRISH - glad you are getting some laughs from the book! Your little eaglets sound so cute!
CHICKIE - pulled pork sounds nom-nom to me! Maybe next week . .
TINA - chili soup? Is that like thin chili or green chilies or??
BECCA - My DH is the same - eats everything in sight, looks at me, and the calories magically transfer to my hips!! I don't get it!
Today will be a full one! I got my upstairs UGH-lies done yesterday so his morning I'll do the downstairs, go for a massage at noon, then grocery shopping, then home to prepare for an 8-person supper party. Carpet folks are coming this morning, too, to lay the new rugs in the trailer and will be here all day. If I can find the time after shopping, I hope to sneak in a nap so I can stay awake this evening.
For tonite's menu, we plan to grill chicken breasts - the pre-seasoned ones from Costco. I'll also make wild rice and asparagus. Others are bringing an appetizer, salad, and bread. For afters (where IS our Lady Carol??), fruit sorbet with Milano cookies, and coffee.
I'm sure there will be plenty so y'all come on by, too!!

Tonight is Pretty Little Liars so we're eating at DD's, she put BBQ Brisket in her slow cooker, I made potato salad and I think there's salad too on the menu....I won't be eating the potato salad.
Mary, my Chile soup is: browned ground beef then add chopped onions(optional) 2 cans pork and beans, 1 can kidney beans, 1 large can tomato juice and salt and pepper to taste and as much chili powder as you want to get the heat you want
it lasts us 3 meals
and is so so good when it's cold outside

Good afternoon from a very sunny day and that's all I'm going to say......
Mary, my heavens, you have a full day scheduled..You'd better take time for that nap...Hate to have you doze off in your sorbet...I'm not an early riser and the fur kids know to go to Jim's side of the bed, if it's before 0700...But, I've always wondered how a 10 lb. cat feels like at least 50 lbs. when they jump on you during the night....
And, YES, where is Lady Evans?????
Becca, aren't you just the luckiest person..I had heard you and surrounding area would be getting snow...It really is too bad about your neighbor, so hard on all the family....
Tina, your recipe is pretty much like mine...I do add green peppers and this time, I did use 1/2 of a package chili mix....Did turn out pretty good and Jim finished the left overs for lunch....
So, tonight might be the all time artery clogging burgers and fries...Every once in awhile, I get a yen for home made fries, so this might be the night.....
Happy eating.............

Good afternoon,
Dinner tonight - I have some pork chops that will go into the electric skillet and makecsome gravy with the drippings to go over some stuffing that I can cook in the microwave. Will add a veggie, heated up in the microwave too.
I am surprised at what I can cook - LOL!
Activity day girls today and Ethan too. Sarah has her cub scouts.
No granite guys - again- uggh!
Enjoy!

I don't know what I did to deserve it, but we are going to Pizza Hut tonight. No cooking this evening!
The pulled pork is delicious! I think tomorrow I will take some of it and add some seasonings and make tamales from scratch. Can you tell, I do love tamales!
Jana--I cooked for several months with a crock pot, electric skillet and microwave after the fire while DH was building a kitchen in the little house. We lived in one room and a bathroom... dishes in the bathroom sink. Amazing what can be made with so little!
