SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Feb 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Feb 09, 2015 4:43 am

Well, it's raining again. We had a nice window yesterday and I got out and planted a flat of colorful primroses in pots by my front door. They are probably getting beat down this morning.

Yesterday I finished my monkey baby quilt top. It was a quick one and this morning I'll piece the back and see if DH can be persuaded to dust off the quilting machine. I think my St. Pat's quilt is next.

JANA - Today's the day!! New kitchen! how did the shower go? Was Mama surprised or did she know what you and Sarah were doing?

CHICKIE - we had chops last night, too. Your day yesterday sounds idyllic. Even with the cows out. Though that can be a headache. I remember as a kid, getting those calls - "your cows are out!" and then we had a round-up. I thought it was fun. Daddy - not so much. lol!

RHONDA - 100" of snow?!?! I'm only 60" myself! You must have tunnels to get out of your house! But a quiche is nice . . .

BECCA - On Sat we weren't riding the entire 12 hours. Otherwise my backside would be pretty sore! Only about 4 or 5 hours were spent in the seats, broken up a lot by 10 stops along the way. No quilts shops, unfortunately. But it was still a very long day.

JOANNE - how was your weekend? Hope you didn't go hungry!

ABITA - yoo hoo!! Where are you , girl?

IRISH - I hope you conquered that lasagna! I keep looking at the weather map of the east and looks like NY and New England are dragging you along with it! Kinda glad my grandpa moved from there in 1902.

Tonite's menu will depend on if I go to the store or not. I'm in the mood for split pea soup but have no dried peas. I still have my kielbasa which I use in the soup. My back-up plan is a skillet supper with onions, potatoes, eggs, and the kielbasa. One way or another that sausage is a goner today!

What sounds good at YOUR house today?

Good morning,

Yes, today is the day and we are ready! Mother Hubbard's cupboards are well stocked compared to mine! Just if those pesky contactors would get here. Michael had Sarah photograph all the wiring as the house was built, so now those pictures are up for reference in the demo to take place.

DDIL, Kate, was very surprised. She had asked us to make the layette, but had no idea of what we were doing. We made the Batt Cave off limits during that time. We had fun at the shower - showing off with her mom there - yeah we were bad, but it was fun! I'll behave now!

Humm, dinner - well I think we will eat out or bring home take out. Mood is Chinese, but we will see. Sure wish I had a Mama's Grill here.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Morning to everyone.A rainy day here.Three deers have been laying under our big oak tree behind house about 30 ft from back door all morning. They have prevented me from getting my quilt cut out as planned.I did get all the materials ready.

Yesterday was my DDads 103rd Birthday.I forgot to write it when I posted. He always called me his little girl even before he died.He was a very special Daddy to me.And he always made me feel special. There was 4 brothers. How I survived is a miracle.LOL

JANA Sure that shower was nice.

MARYz We used to ride 14 hrs & we would go numb. That was visiting our DS & DGrnds & DDIL.Glad you had breaks.Sorry to hear rain is back.DGSs house is to start today. They told him they pour foundations in the rain.I was amazed.

We do have to eat.LOL I cooked a big pot of pinto beans. Will add cornbread & honeydew melon.DH has s,mores....Becca

ABITA I too have missed you.Hope you & family are well.

Good late afternoon from a very dreary, cold, SW. Pa....Hopefully one of these days, I'm going to surprise you all and say it's warm, it's sunny and all those good things.....
I have a very good excuse for being late....My sister had another doctor appointment and made me go with her...How does that sound? This is her wrist doctor, takes a good 1/2 hour to get there and then we HAVE to go to a Chinese buffet and it usually takes about 2 hours to get reinforced for the ride home...These appointments are tough but oh so good! Doc did tell her there was nothing more he can do, she'll have to live with the pain....Now we'll have to come up with another excuse to visit this buffet.....

Mary, you really made short work on that quilt...Anxious to get to those Irish blocks aren't you? I look at mine and then I look at all those extra blocks from the comfort quilt and have decided, there's enough to make Chris's brothers each a quilt....Planting flowers already??? I have a feeling it's going to be quite a long time before I plant anything...We're to get more snow tonight but nothing like they are getting up the coast.....They did say, there's might be melted by May....

Becca, you sound like my DD, Kathy...She had 4 brothers and they did make it rough for her when growing up...But, whatever it was, she turned out pretty darn good as I'm sure you are also....

Since I not having dinner, I'm going to make Jim a grilled chicken sandwich and some soup...Either that or a bag of popcorn....

Happy eating...................
