SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Feb 03, 2015 3:09 am

Good Morning!

Today is my baby girl's birthday. My baby girl who turns 43. Not sure how that happened so quickly! We sent her Seahawk jewelry from Arizona - earrings, bracelet, and necklace - for her gift. For all the good it did. But funny story - Bill met an old high school classmate of his on Facebook. Turns out she winters in Yuma in a big RV resort only 4 houses down from good friends of ours. And she makes jewelry. So we met up with her, bought some jewelry, and got to visit our friends as well.

IRISH - I did see that kitten bowl! It was great! Some people have way too much time on their hands! lol!

CHICKIE - this time I sent myself the link you gave me and stowed it in my 'idea file'. I have a few other ideas in there, too. I might go to a dollar store today, too, and see if I can find a color book with simple monkeys in it. Or I might just look for monkey fabric and make pieced blocks. Ideas are still percolating. But keep them coming! You always have such fun suggestions!

TINA - did your new baby arrive last night?

JO - is Butterbee's a new place? They sound like a cousin to Applebee's!

VELDA - sorry about your geese flying the wrong direction. But maybe you invented a new block.

Well, DH did get into our leftovers and ate them for his lunch. All that was left was two brats so I sliced them into scrambled eggs and made toast. Tonite - either a pasta dish, something over rice, or grilled cheese and tomato soup. We have to go to a town way north of Seattle today - 2-hr run - to pick up a big garage door opener, so maybe we'll end up grabbing burgers on the way home . .

Bon Appetit`!

Mary--as usual, I can think of all kinds of ideas for YOUR quilt. Happy birthday to your "baby"!

We cleaned up the tacos last night as taco salad. Tonight will be a stir fry with udon noodles, spinach and Chinese seasoning. I found the recipe in a magazine. I will let you know if it is a repeater or a one time only.

Vel--any other time, you could have kept the block and made more... serendipity! And a new pattern is born!

Thankfully we aren't as cold this morning. Maybe I'll get to retrieve my truck from the shop... bail out is more like it. DH said it was coming out of my fabric budget, but I'll set him straight on that... probably at dinner or maybe over biscuits and gravy at brunch. "Just a spoonful of gravy makes the reality go down... in a most delightful way!"

Good morning from a very confused, cold, state......

OK, is this Wed. or is it Tuesday?????Did I actually sleep through a whole day, which sometimes might be a good idea.....But, if this is Wed. then I missed all the weekly specials at Aldi's and won't have to go shopping......

Tina, is this the big day??? I'm sure you are excited and we really need to see pictures....

It is bitterly cold, still snow covered and just plain nasty....Jim keeps telling me, I (with a large capital letter) need to get out of the house...I mentioned needing a few things and that's all it took....He also did say, he'd keep the house warm while I was gone, so big of him......So, I'm really thinking about it...If I didn't have a call from the Library saying my book was ready or that call from Walgreen about my RX, I wouldn't even consider putting on all those out door clothes...You know that little boy in the movie about the Red Rider BB gun? The one with so many clothes, when he fell he couldn't get up, that's gonna be me.......

And as far as dinner, if I have to suffer and go out, dinner might be something from a drive thru along the way...(Subway, KFC, endless possibilities)......

If you don't hear from me, I've probably fallen in that snow bank and won't be found until spring......

Happy eating................

Good afternoon! Oh my it is that late already!

Mary - Happy Birthday to your "baby" - my oldest, Sarah's BD is coming up in a week or so. February is a great month for a BD!

Sarah and I have been sewing in the Batt Cave and only have the car seat cover left to go. We added a zipper in the front - no pattern - just winging it and it needs a little frogging and everything will be great. Sarah has Cubs Scouts this afternoon - so we will go out tomorrow for all the supplies for the Baby Shower - plates, cups, etc. I also need a Costco run and will pick up some cookies for the my part of the food.

This is the list of the layette - 3 crib sheets, 2 receiving blankets, 3 burp cloths, quilt, car seat cover, table top changing pad cover, portable changing pad, binky bag, bumper pads, diaper bag, hooter hider, and we didn't make, but bought - a car seat and stroller. There is still a grocery cart seat cover - but that can wait! Think that might be enough? ROFLOL!!!!! This is their first - after that, any future only get a quilt!

Dinner - I have some chicken or turkey burger - something will pop out of the freezer for dinner. The kitchen is any minute - so I am saving up all the eating out until I have no place to cook.

Enjoy,
Jana

Tonight was Mama's Grill...Yeah!
Mary, I don't know if Butterbee's is a national chain or not...it's been around here for years. Better than Applebee's, too.

I can't believe there is so much chatter here so early!!! Wow, you all are up and att'um this morning.

Yup! I thought about that flying geese mistake, too. The block looked pretty cute with the "square" around the center square. It would make a new look. Also would be kinda neat to mix the two designs in the same quilt. Wish I would have taken a picture of both blocks to keep in my quilt to make list.

Now, for tonight's dinner. Well, yesterday, I made chicken in the crock pot and have lots of left overs from that. I am still thinking about whether to make some hash browns with the meat or maybe put it all together in a big pot with more vegi's and noodles and make up some yummy soup. Too early yet to decide. So I will just ponder it over my next cup of coffee. :)

Tomorrow is the first day of Shop Hop with Lyn and two other gals from the park here. We will do half on Thurs. and the other shops on Friday, plus we are going to try to fit in a visit to the Corpus Christi Quilt Guild's quilt show. Busy two days. Hope we will both have some pictures to share with you all. Two of our friends here in the park are going on the bus trip tomorrow and they are expected to do all the shops in one day. Boy, that will be a LONG DAY! for sure!!

I am glad that Lyn is driving us and we are splitting in up into two days. Just one shop at El'Campo is too far away for us. We skipped that shop last year, too. It's about half way between Victoria and Houston. Much too far for us. Don't know why they have that shop connected with this shop hop with it so far away.

Anyway, I will not be posting here Thurs or Friday. I will still have to fix dinner, but it will probably be something fast like a pizza or maybe we will eat out. :)

Have a great day.
Velda
HUGS, 💕 Vel
