SUPPER CLUB from HOME! Wed, Jan 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Jan 28, 2015 3:13 am

Hello to all our Supper Pals! There is joy in Zawlocki-land tonite! I wish you all could have seen Scottie's face when we pulled into our driveway! lol!! He was so excited he couldn't sit still to let me undo his harness! He leaped out of the cab and ran, yipping, through the grass as fast as he could go, doing twirls and circles, jumping over rocks and logs and racing around the yard. Then Foxy's face, as we carried him inside and set him down, was something else to behold! Such big, round eyes he has! He has been very busy exploring his new home. Both cats seem happy to be out of that shrinking trailer!

Anyway, we're home and settling in quickly. Today's activites - bringing the last of everything in from the trailer, helping DH raise the 30'x40' tarp over our RV shelter frame, laundry, plants, groceries, sewing room, and wouldn't it be nice to have an hour to do try one of those beautiful February lotto blocks!

JANA - so sorry to hear Sarah has bursitis. I've had it 3 times in my shoulders and it is very painful. Hope her recovery is quick.

CHICKIE - I had to laugh when you quoted Dorothy, "There's no place like home", referring to MY home, of course. and here you are in Kansas! Glad you are having some pretty weather to enjoy.

IRISH - so happy to hear you survived the storm! I was thinking of you and was going to send a text, but we dropped into a no service zone. and then I fell asleep.

JOANNE - One day I really want to have dinner with the Pringles! I bet you all are a lot of fun! Just how many Pringles are there at these dinners?

VELDA - Chili sounds yummy to me! Can we have some cornbread, too, please?

JOYCE - Soup for your cruddy DH will be just the thing. Hope you don't catch it, too!

Tonite - unless I get something REALLY quick and easy at the grocery store, it will be the leftover soup from 2 nights ago. and by leftover, I mean the soup I created from combining leftovers from two different meals. It actually was better than each of the original dishes were !

Do you have your plan yet for tonite's feast?

Welcome Home, Mary! I love to hear about the fur babies and their reaction to being home....Do you think Scottie might be just a tad happy to be home?????

Well, here in the land of white stuff, it's still cold, but sunny, getting colder tonight and doesn't look much better for the next couple of days.....

Jim had to take the car for a recall this morning and hopefully, it won't be an all day thing....Other than "winter", not much happening in this part of the world....

Jana, sorry to hear about Sarah having bursitis...So darn painful...I have it in a hip, have had cortisone shots and take meds....Hope she feels better soon.....

And onto dinner...I'm thinking, although we still have left over chicken pot pie, we need some new food....So, tonight will be either that lasagna or meat loaf.....And I'm still not baking, I need to cut back and poor Jim will just have to deal with it......

Happy eating...............

Good morning,

Welcime home, Mary! I can just see Scottie jumping for joy!

O'Dorothy - I too have bursitis in my shoulder - my mom did too - seems to run in the family here. She is doing better today and survived Cub Scouts yesterday - she is the 9 y/o den mother.

I am babysitting my little grands this morning. Dinner is still at the store - I need to do some grocery shopping on my way home. Meatloaf is sounding pretty darn good right now.

Enjoy,
Jana

Welcome home Mary! Glad the animals are so happy!!!

Dinner with the Pringles varies in size...last night it was only 4 of us! Average is 9. Once in awhile it is 13.

Irish, how much snow did you get??? We just had a dusting...

Tonight will be the chicken breast that is thawing on the counter...and something else. Just not sure what, yet!

Joanne

Good afternoon! We are WINDY and warm... that usually means that change is coming... Tomorrow is to be 20 degrees cooler... low 50s. After that, it's downhill for the weekend... 30s and 60-70% chances for snow both days. I knew it couldn't last.

Last night we had lasagna. Don't tell DH but I used ground turkey and lots of ricotta. He had two helpings and said, "I usually don't like lasagna, but this was good." Too funny! What he doesn't like is too much tomato sauce. I didn't use much, and what I used was the pasta sauce I had canned. That said, we'll be having the rest of it this evening for dinner.

MaryZ--there truly is NO PLACE LIKE HOME be it Washington, Kansas or anywhere we have our roots. It's good to go, but it's even better to come home. I loved reading about the fur babies' reactions to home and Foxy's new home.

The dogs are sprawled out in my sewing room... Odie on the daybed and Tinker Bell on the floor. I'm thinking I need to join them.
