SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Dec 12th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Dec 12, 2014 1:37 am

good morning!

How was supper last night? We enjoyed our leftover tacos and I added a salad to mine. Guess I'll have to think up something new and tasty for tonite.

LADY CAROL - sorry you had a two-umbrella day! I missed why you are cooking meals for Claire.

JANA - I just love all your big family gatherings!! you make me feel almost as if I'm there with you, enjoying all the fun! I also love that you are an "all-weather fan" to your 'Niners.

CHICKIE - I wish I could have had a bowl of that split pea soup! maybe I'll make some this coming week. I think I even have ham in the freezer that you reminded me of. and I'm almost certain that I have the dried peas.

JOANNE - it's so sad that so many people celebrate Jesus's birthday by stealing from other folks. But losing packages from porches is all too common nowadays. Hope your package comes early so you can get out shopping.

IRISH - I know that the peanut butter fudge was a silly question. I laughed even as I wrote it! My mom used to layer chocolate and peanut butter fudges together. YUM!

Tonite we are probably going with pasta. Not sure if it will be with red sauce or white sauce or just olive oil with basil, garlic, and toasted walnuts. But it will be tasty, I'm sure.

Bon appetit`!

The soup was delicious, and I'm sure it will be great tonight, too. If you were here, you could help us eat it--there's plenty! I just can't make small batches of anything!

I think when chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge are swirled together, it's called Tiger Fudge, and it's awesome!

Enjoy!

Morning from another dreary, cold, no sun, SW. Pa....I keep giving Jim little "jabs" about being so cold and although it's not real warm in Florida, it would be a heck of a lot better....I have a feeling I'm fighting a loosing battle......

Mary, now I do like tacos or taco salad...I'm really gonna have to expand my tastes.....Now when I think of fudge, I'll think of you laughing.....

Chickie, would you believe, I've never had Split Pea soup???I think it's been the idea of eating a green soup, weird, I know....I think you're right about the Tiger Fudge....

Jana, I really do miss having those big dinners...When you have 5 kids with spouses and kids, it was a BIG dinner...It took me a long time to learn how to cook for just Jim and I and I still end up with too much.....

Well, last night's dinner ended up being from Long John Silver's...I do like their chicken but Jim had their "mac n cheese"filets...Now tonight, I'm thinking either spaghetti or something in the oven...And if neither work out, tomato soup and grilled cheese.....

Happy eating...............

The UPS man came early yesterday so we shopped (he must have heard you Mary..lol)...a little over an hour but it did me in! lol! So we had Mama's Grill last night. My shopping is DONE...except to buy some bags from the dollar store.

In a few minutes we will go to Medary's Market for some groceries...and I still have that chicken breast to fix for dinner. Earl bought a George Foreman grill yesterday....so cool! We love grilled food.

Irish, we had sun yesterday...how come it missed you????? Sunny here today, too...hope it gets to you tomorrow!

I always make way too much food...so now when I make chili or speghetti sauce, after we have the one meal, I freeze the rest in containers! It's great to always have it on hand.

Time to go to market!

Good morning,

I still haven't learned to cook for just two - I know why - there is never just two for dinner! LOL That is one of the reasons we moved here! Oh yes, the tribe will be here on Sunday for Noodles. We will also be celebrating DDIL Kate, finishing and passing her tests for EMT. Big accomplishment being almost 7 months pregnant.

Ethan will be here for dinner - the pill has become fussy - so he is on a pasta kick - so we will have a pasta something.

Enjoy,
Jana

Irish--this is the first time I've ever made/had split pea soup, too. It's really good. I am so surprised DH likes it, as he is not usually a veggie eater.

Maybe I will freeze some of this, but I think we'll still have it tonight. Actually, we might clean it up.
