SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Oct 24, 2014 2:52 am

Good Morning!

Happy Hallogivingbirthmas Eve! Our house will soon be filled with the spicy smells of pumpkin pie! Mmmmmmm. . . . .

And did you know that this is National Seafood Month? We're not celebrating. Just in case you were making plans . . . .

IRISH sent a quick text that Chris was off the vent from his surgery and they were seeing some rays of hope. Good news!!

Now for some supper-talk! it's leftovers for us. Last night I cooked a package of tube pasta and dumped in a can of mushrooms, spaghetti sauce, extra Italian seasoning, and sliced, cooked sausage. Mixed it up, put it into a casserole, topped with mozz/parm cheese and baked it for 40 min. It turned out amazingly good! I mean, good enough for company! I didn't go through all the careful layering, etc. that I usually do. See - sometimes it pays to be lazy! lol!

Hope your supper tonite is yummy with little or no effort, too!

LOL Mary, you make me laugh :-) I was reading your post to Frankie, he got up with me now, and was telling him about your mac-n-cheese aversion and he says "and she lives there where she could have all sorts of fresh mac-n-cheese!" Your supper sounded delish!
I don't know what we're doing for supper yet, we may be picking up and delivery a puppy to Mom and Dad today :-) I sure hope so!

Tina--I feel the same way about MaryZ and where she lives... all that FRESH you-know-what of all kinds... sigh! The only fresh we have here is from the farm ponds.

MaryZ--and you didn't tell me that until the end of the month!!! Have a great day tomorrow! I love the name of your new holiday. Your casserole sounds good, too. Who says you have to layer it all? I kind of did that with my farfalle, and it was delicious.

Tonight? I have no idea. I HAVE to cook. Guess I'll go out to the freezer and see if there is anything easy. I think there may be some ribs and maybe a baked potato. Since I have to go to the rental today, that sounds like a great choice!

Good morning,

Oh the fresh "mac n cheese" in the PNW- my SIL's brother owned several mac n cheese trawlers and that is how I got introduced to that wonderful orange delicacy. Now I want some, but I have my little ones here for the next several days. Logan is having emergency appendectomy surgery. So it just may be the real mac n cheese for dinner -we will see.

Enjoy,
Jana

Oh, yuk, Mary...National Seafood month??!! But your casserole sounds good! I'd have to leave out the mushrooms...Earl says they are "deadly"..but I LOVE them.

I've had a pork loin sirloin roast in the crockpot all day cooking..and I'm putting together a sweet potato casserole..along with a salad for dinner...yum.

Tomorrow my DGD, Ashley, is coming to clean...she comes when she needs extra money and I always welcome her!! lol! With my RA I can't clean the floors or vacuum..so she's a big help. I do have a Dirt Devil battery vacuum that is really light that I can use, but it needs a heavy duty cleaning now.

Prayers for all spoken and unspoken!!

No cooking tonight or tomorrow. We go dancing tonight for our last night, here near Shelbyville. We were hoping to leave on Monday, but now we are still waiting to hear from Dr. on an additional test that DH had to have done.

I hate having to wait. We may have to wait until Tuesday to leave and then we don't know if we will be going south or north.
If it is good news, we head to Texas. If more tests or treatments needed, we go north to park at our son's house for a while.??????

I hate the unknown.

So tonight, it is eat out and same with tomorrow night. Then Monday will be up for grabs. You may not see me on here for a couple of days. But I will keep you posted when I can turn on computer.

Hugs to all.
Velda

LOL I posted this one on the wrong day, This was on Saturday!!!
HUGS, 💕 Vel
