SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 6th
Good morning!
Well, yesterday was productive. I estimated that I walked about 1 full mile up and down the hallway, carrying stuff. We moved everything back into my sewing room, emptied out the office and quilting room (except for machine and frame - it goes today), ripped rugs from office, and then washed/painted office. Whew! I pulled a slick trick to get out of finishing the painting though - I was scrunched down, tripped over a big glob of air, lost my balance, tumbled clear across the room over paint cans, the roller went flying, and I landed with my head bumping the opposite wall from where I'd been painting. Somehow I missed the paint tray of paint! But I did hit my hiney and now am sporting a very nice bruise that I really can't be showing anyone. It was really rather a spectacular physical feat and it got the dog and the DH excited. And DH told me to go take a shower (guess I landed on the roller.) and he finished up the room. ;o)
Today will be doing the quilting room, which is 10x13. We are painting the exact same colors as before. So only thin coats are needed and very little trim work. From now on, I'm never changing wall colors again! So much easier!
CHICKIE - I guess your LDH really didn't like to go to the dentist! I now only need "extra" medication for root canals - and luckily I've only had one of those. And through the magic of Halcyon I have no memory of it!
IRISH - Happy Birthday to your oldest 'kiddo'! so sorry Chris is having such a hard time with the dialysis. Though I sure don't blame him. You know, when anyone has a heart attack or big health issue like he has, temporary depression is a part of it that is often overlooked because of the physical immediacy. The depression can last up to a year. Maybe he could benefit from talking to a counselor who is trained in such things. If he could improve the emotional aspect of it, I'm sure the physcial part would be, at the very least, much more bearable for him, but at the most, improve things. . . Just a thought. Even just journaling his thoughts about it each day would truly help him, I think. It's a safe channel to vent, and that's what some therapists would advise anyway.
BECCA - you've got so much on your plate these days that I'm going to allow T--a sandwiches for you and for everyone!! Glad to hear your DH's appetite showed some improvement. Hope Baby Laurel's mom gets better quickly, too. Thanks for the 'report' on Laurel. The tubes would be oxygen, IV, and feeding, I'm guessing. After 20 years working in an NICU, sick and preemie babies still catch my heart.
TINA - glad Jaz is doing better about the dental appt. Since you are the one who was charged with taking her in the first place instead of her mom or dad, I'd say you're well within your rights to make her an appt now for a 6-month check-up. and mark your own calendar. I started all the kids at age 3 with check-ups every 6 months. My son never had a cavity until he was in his mid-30's. We always make our next appt before we even leave the dental office.
JO - you want I should send Bill, The Geek over to check out your computer? He just fixed, cleaned up, rebuilt 3 of my SisIL's computers for her. We miss you! You should send us a photo of you sitting at Mama's so when you can't make it here, we can picture you there!
LADY CAROL - lovely about the frogs! I fear they are disappearing. Sorry, though, about the frogING. When I was quilting my oldest brother's quilt some years ago, I got well under way and finally checked the underside of the frame. What a mess! I laid on my back for a half-day, picking.
ABITA - wonderful that you live where you do! so I'm guessing Abita isn't your real name, but I like it anyway! Wish we could get your beer here.
DH has requested spaghetti for tonite's repast. That's pretty easy as long as he's willing to take canned sauce - and he is. I have a kielbasa in the freezer to use for the meat. Today should be an easier day with very little carrying and carting. For me, just painting.
What's the plan for your supper tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 6th
Good late morning from warm but partly sunny, sometimes overcast, Sw. Pa....I was going to do laundry but came up with such a small bundle, it wasn't worth it....We must not have gotten very dirty in the last couple of days, lol......
Mary, you know you've "painted" an image in my head that won't go away...I have visions of a red headed gal rolling across the floor but you know, if you had wanted to get out of painting, you could have probably just said so.....
And, I agree about Chris talking with someone...He has even mentioned it but said it more or less in a joking manner.. I think he didn't have the depression with the last open heart because he really bounced back and was back at work in no time...This time was much more serious and of course he is older.....
Joanne, I also like the idea of a picture of you and Earl at Mama's...We all might decide to join you.....
Carol, sorry to hear about the "froging"...I think we've all gone through it, some more times than others...Do you have a pond on your property? That would be so neat...And frogs, that's great....
Well, today is either a "must-go" day or order a pizza...I keep getting e-mails about deals from Pizza Hut for free pizzas so this might be the day to collect....I just know, I'm not cooking......
Happy eating..............

Gosh, Mary, I didn't think that painting was "dangerous"! lol!! Take it easy, girl!
We have a couple of small sirloin steaks thawing..Earl's pick. Not sure about what to fix with it...I know we will have salad...it's in ice water in the frig..along with green onions, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cucumbers, peas and bacon and cheese. Yummm...makes me hungry!
I'll try to remember to take my camera to Mama's..maybe take a picture of the Pringles Dinner, too.
This weekend is the Village Wide Yard Sale...we didn't set up..Earl had a Dr. appt. on Friday and "they" said it was going to rain hard and long overnight into today..until early afternoon. Wrong! No rain over night and none so far today...ugh.

Gosh Mary I think there must've been an easier and way safer way to get out of painting!
I'm glad you're alright though. LOL I just thought of something, Jazmyne fell once and hurt her bum and she wanted us to "kiss the boo boo" LOL it was too funny. Supper tonight will be burgers on the grill with green Chile and bacon cooked on the grill too with avocados and tomatoes and a nice refreshing salad

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 6th
Good afternoon,
Thunder and lightning have interrupted painting and besides that, we ran out of paint. Next time DH will listen to the one with 40 years experience in painting! LOL The south wall anddoors are done, as well as the lower west wall.
Mary - watch out for those air critters, they will get you everytime! Stu came yesterday and cleared me a couple of paths so I won't trip and fall.
Irish - Jim is happy - Notre Dame is on in a few minutes- I am sitting here watching Stanford, BYU will play in a hour or so and Utah is almost over - the remote is getting a workout!
Dinner - last night was soup and a sandwich - something simple will appear here tonight - take out appeals to me - hope the Advil holds out!
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 6th
Good evening! I've been doing my regular Saturday running around, but I picked up a Quilt Sampler magazine at the store and that captured my attention as soon as I got in the door. Mom was doing pretty good today. I can see she is slowing down, and it grieves me. I took her some tomatoes and a piece of lasagna.
Speaking of lasagna... that's on the table tonight along with salad and watermelon.
MaryZ--I thought I was the only one who performed those acrobatics. I did one a few weeks ago getting out of the boat. At least this time I didn't tear the tendons in my knee. I just beat up both knees and my behind. Somehow I slipped on the slick boat bottom and then squished and slid in the mud with the other foot and did some crazy flips and turns... So glad DH didn't whip out his phone and take photos! At least his doesn't have video capabilities!
Cheers!

Tonight will be pasta sauce with ground turkey and shells. I did buy some Tuscan Bread and will fix a salad.
Maryz - Be careful of those acrobatics!
Irish - Sorry Chris is having to go throuh all of this.
Lady Carol - Frogging is never fun, however you will be happier with the results if you fix the problem.
Becca - Wishing the best for your DH as well.
Have a great day!
Carol

Maryz, Abita Springs has natural fresh water springs that the Native Americans believed had healing powers. You may ask your liq. store if they can get Abita Beer for you. I know the brewery ships all over. Nothing is better with boiled crawfish, fried catfish, or after cutting grass as an ice cold Abita Beer! My DH would disagree, he is a neat Scotch guy. Take care
