SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Aug 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 26, 2014 4:11 am

Happy today!

Boy, is it ever a fall morning out there today! Crisp air, slight chill, sparkly spider webs. But we're going to 85 today, so summer's not done yet!

I'm off on my walk in a few minutes and Mr. Scottie-dog will not be delayed on his walk! So this will be quick. Supper tonite will be grilled pork chops seasoned with lemon pepper, boiled/buttered/parsleyed new red potatoes, and salad heavy with avocadoes. Should be a feast!

What's on your feasting agenda for tonite?

and BTW, if you think I don't know if you sneak back and eat forbidden food after I've logged off in the morning, you're very much mistaken . . . . TINA.

LOL it was a necessity hehehe
tonight might be my flour free pizza unless DD already decided what's for supper. We eat at her house on Tuesdays so we can watch pretty little liars, tonight is the season finale.

Good early afternoon from warm, sunny, wonderful, SW. Pa....Aaaahhhh summer!

Just came inside for my iced tea break and a chipped ham sandwich (Isaly's chipped ham, of course)..We've been trimming trees, bushes and anything that gets in the way...Also, have clothes on the line and a bunch in the dryer....

Mary, you said you're getting ready for flooring but I must have missed what you're getting, carpet or wood? And BTW, your dinner sounds delish!

As for that chicken that was supposed to be eaten last night, you guessed it, didn't happen....Jim was so excited about the chipped ham, he made BBQs...So, tonight is chicken and that's it! Have no afters, pie is gone and the baker is on strike....(we'll see how long that lasts)...

Happy eating.............

Chickie, Hatch Chile is famous all over the world :-) if you buy Chile in cans chances are it's Hatch Chile :-) I know they have names like Big Jims and Habaneras' or something like that LOL there's probably a dozen different varieties but I just pay attention to the heat details :-) Mild, Medium, Medium Hot, Hot and Extra Hot :-) I try to get some Medium Hot to add to my Mediums every once in awhile for just a little kick. I'm not a fan of really hot green Chile but red Chile I eat a little hotter :-) DH can't figure that one out LOL

Good afternoon! DH is off to get my apples for my apple pie jam. He forgot to take a bucket this morning when he went to coffee.

Tina--I might get chilies relleños in a can or jalapeños in a jar, but usually I use jalapeños from the freezer. I get them over at DS3’s from his garden.

Irish—I thought of you when I got super shredded ham at the deli. I hung sheets on the line awhile ago.

MaryZ—I wish I could get good California avocados here. I would love a bowl of them with my tomatoes. I wouldn’t need anything else.

I think I’m going for tamale pie this evening using venison. It’s not my favorite meat (none are, really other than chicken and MaryZ’s forbidden food), but I’ll put lots of spicy salsa on my plate.

DH returned with my apples, so I’m off to jam…

Good Evening All.....think our summer is over......had a grotty week end.... rain and grey skies....mostly rain......

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK.......

THE FIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN......IS NEXT WEEKS COOK......

Aber day today.....and the last one with our lovely driver Clive....we did a collection for him.....and raised £150....think that's about $300 give or take......shows how much the passengers liked him.....the next bus company who got the contract.....will certainly not be so obliging.....

Didn't make it yesterday....got those wretched black spots and flashing lights for most of the day.....but no migraine thank God....

Todays menu.....Leftover Lamb in Rosemary Gravy....Brocolli and Carrrots......Jammy Doughnut(or two) and Coffee for afters

Good late afternoon,

Carol - your thought of the day reminded me of my uncle. Once for a hunting trip, the group of guys, no one wanted to cook, so my uncle was the first to cook. He over salted the food, so one would complain. He who complained was to be the next cook. One of the guys started to say, Lue, this food is way too saltly, but caught himself, and added, just the way I like it. We still chuckle over that. Thanks!

Dinner here is out to get chicken - maybe - it is thundering, lightning, and raining hard - so it may end up soup and a sandwich. ? Hope chicken wins out.

Enjoy,
Jana
